  • For me, the most impressive thing about this build is when you listen to the audio you hear...music. Not rattles and resonances from various trim panels and doors and wiper arms. Truly a testament to the skill and hard work that went in to prepping the vehicle. Awesome!

  • THIS Guys spl reading is SICCCCCK!

and it all looks not so over rated like these big Audio stores lol

Team up with Steve Meade bro

  • Have you actually tested to see what frequency range your woofer plays from? For ex. 25hz up to 100hz?

  • The sign of a true expert; apologizing for his flex! Most idiots would be bragging!

Hexi, you make the best car audio vids on youtube. (well, you and Exo.....for totally different reasons. :-P)

  • Pete I never get tired of watching your videos.. Hope life is treating you well. I consider you the King of Bass for less.. If half of the people out there got off this trip about size and watts and focused on acoustics instead I think the world would be a more beautiful sounding place.. Nice work bro!!

  • Hey pete, i was wondering if you had an opinion on the Audioque hdc3 series?

  • @jays4forces Bass Head - Bassnectar

  • can you post a tracklist?

  • whats the song at 4:48

  • 5:32 I thought the drop killed him :0

  • hey pete, i know u get alot of comments and mail, but please let me know how to contact u for u to make me a custom box for me. that way i can discuss what i have and how much everything would be worth to make and ship out. please gwt at back me if u can.

  • @BIGSEXY21O Just go to the PWK Designs web site. I have links posted in the video description and all over the channel page.

  • Hey can anybody help me out... I got a toyota celica 00-02 I have 2 12 DVC Mtx 9500's and a t20001bd I would like to know how can I get close to getting a 150db... Subs up port back or both up!!! Right now subs and port back @ 28 hertz 6 1/2 cubes. Money I'm going to get the car metered to see what I'm hitting in the car

  • @lunesta187 The main ways are probably to deaden the hell out of your car and get a design from hexibase.

  • @lunesta187 it's gonna be hard to hit that with a box tuned that low in my opinion...if all you care about is db's just tune it high and play songs/tones with bass lines with the same freuency as your box is tuned to you'll have a one note wonder, but you'll hit a high db.

  • song at 2:30 ??

  • PETE IS THE MAN! CANT W8 TILL HE MAKES MINE FOR MY DC's! and he still pulled a 152.6 on a non SPL set up!

  • Comment removed

  • nice man, seems like it hits very low, i always wanted to ask you what is it with that black paint on our doors??, congrats on the build pete!!

  • damn!

  • so it plays music, looks almost stock and gets crazy loud. i love it!

  • Excellent demonstration, and huge thumbs up on a job well done.

  • which size of the woofer is it? damn nice vid man!

  • Do you play any Decaf modified songs?

  • Wow ur setup must sound Nice..

  • Low pass and sub sonic.

  • @krod0877 Low pass is set at 80Hz, subsonic is set at 25Hz.

  • @HexiBase Do you have some kind of method to set your ssf? Some people say that you should set it just a bit under the enclosure tuning frequency. Is that true?

  • At what freq is ur amp is setup at?

  • @krod0877 I'm not sure what frequency you're asking about. My subsonic filter? My low pass filter?

  • @HexiBase finally someone that uses dnb for bass

  • No not mad ur setup came out very nice.

  • very nice for an everyday

  • @TuchMyGucci Thanks.

  • At What freq ur running the amp???

  • @krod0877 The amp can pass frequencies from 10Hz to 200Hz.

  • Your A Mad Scientist!!!

  • @krod0877 Mad, huh?

  • Considering how thorough you are at essentially everything, I'm surprised you don't post a list of the tracks used in your videos. I don't recognize very many tracks in your videos at all, but I like your taste in music. I hope it's not too much to ask to post a list of the tracks used in this and other demo videos : ).

  • @31Orcas The idea is for everyone to arrive at their own playlist as opposed to just copying off of one another; that's how mainstream music is born *gag*

  • sweet!!

  • @MASON858 Thanks.

  • Never intended for numbers. But hey you still broke over a 150+!! HexiBase FTMFW!!!

  • @7E0N Well, 150dB isn't really that difficult to accomplish these days, especially given the gear and the amount of prep work that went into getting this vehicle ready for it.

  • I would TOTALLY get a boner if you made a video of the woofer-membranes doing their work.

  • @DTDahl There was that one scene. But the subs don't really move that much, even when turned up, so there's really nothing spectacular to see.

  • Pretty nasty numbers but a little high on the peak frequency for me

  • @cotyballs that depends more on the vehicle than the setup(peak freq is what im refering to).

  • @HitemWithTheFlex while the resonant frequency of the vehicle has to do with tuning the box or enclosure can be tuned however you would like. Yes the vehicles peak may give you a higher frequency than what your going for but that was a burp on a sine wave. I was just stating that his peak was a little high for me. I also just helped build a wind tunnel tuned to 12hz though so maybe I am a little biased. And this particular vehicle still hits mid fifties at 24hz. It's what he wanted

  • @cotyballs i know how all that works, i was stating a generality, but even having a enclosure tuned to 30hz or so, you can peak at 45-55hz or around that area. but i understand what you are saying. i cant stand "burp" vehicles so im not big on anything above 45hz. But i bet his (Hexi's) car sounds amazing (i know he doesnt use his for burps fyi).

  • @HitemWithTheFlex I'm sure it does sound awesome but I agree burp is garbage. I'm sure his wasn't built for burp that was just a way to show numbers

  • @cotyballs I never posted a system response trace.

  • @HexiBase I'm not too sure what you mean

  • DUBSTEP

  • What is that track at 3:33? It sounds like "Phaeleh - Afterglow (feat. Soundmouse) Akira Kiteshi Remix"! [youtube.com/watch?v=SDQ2LIBNBkI] - YOU HAVE AN AMAZING SETUP - I have loved watching the build over a series of videos~! Also quite a few nice little cameras! I keep saving money, someday Pete, someday... I will have a very nice system. hahah

  • hey pete, what happened to the team toxic cd(s)? also very nice job.

  • @gcs8 The radiation CD is on the PWK Designs web site.

  • nice

  • @jmecrg Thanks.

  • You have already established your name over and over/ Anybody who has reservations, is a clueless ass hat...... I look forward to seeing you around for sometime sir!!!!

  • @annarbor84 Oddly enough, I do occasionally get recognized on the street. (Though thankfully nowhere near where I live.)

  • very impressive

  • @MasterOfAllBass Thank you.

  • Sweet!!!! question pete. Do you have any crossovers EQ's ect or any other processors?

  • @BASSHEADzMassive Nope. Just a very straight-forward setup; no "behind the scenes" equipment. What you see is more or less what you get.

  • You are gifted my friend! Pure genius.

  • @bigge91 I don't know about the genius part, but thanks.

  • whats the song at 4:44?

  • Ayeeee bass ravee that's my favorite bass test song ^_^

  • i wish i had the money to afford these good subs. this system is better then my old 4 12's on my channel

  • Thsts insane!

  • @tehglu Yeah, I certainly have no gripes with it as a daily driver setup.

  • @HexiBase Do you ever build subwoofer boxes for underneath a seat in a truck? If you do, how much will it cost me to have one made?

  • Very nice box:)

  • @c8kwalk Thanks.

  • You can be musical , hit notes with accuracy, punch, hold, deepness, fullness. yet still please the SPL gang. a 152. not shabby at all . No matter how you look at things.

  • @TylerTron21 Well, as far as the design goals of this setup are concerned, the pressure reading at the dash is largely coincidental. I wouldn't have cared if I put up low 120s as long as there was no difference in sound.

  • @HexiBase Just going off what ive seen from these build log / update videos all i can say is that it looks to be impressive. I like that the electrical is still so minimal. Im interesting in where the hybrid woofers will end up.

  • I dont exactly remember how I found your channel quite some time back but I sure as hell am glad I did.

  • @Unzem Awesome. Thanks for watching.

  • Nice score! Those are powered by the m4a correct? Its been a while since I seen the video of the equipment.

  • @RickDod3 Yes they are; read the video description.

  • whats the song at 3:34?

  • System looks amazingly accurate and aggressive even over the video.

Create a list of the tracks used in the video? That would be great!

  • @NM31 I try to steer clear of that, especially since the music that accentuates the strong points of one setup may not do so for another. This was just some noise blaring to appease the audience. Most of the time, I'm playing Jazz and Trip-Hop.

  • Thank you !!! i was waiting for this video.

  • @jcejas You're welcome.

  • Everybody I'm about to pay this man good money to build me a box.

  • @Lukethebeast101 Mind the waiting list, good sir :-)

  • idk what was better the setup or the video quality

  • @Carmiel08 The setup. The video was somewhat over-exposed at times.

  • @HexiBase yea but the sound and picture quality compared to most videos was awesome.

  • what is the song at 5:31?

  • @PETERGUNZZ559 bassnectar - bass head

  • @christopay thank you!!!!

  • 152.6!!! FTW! =D

  • @FxOxC Hmm... Not really. I don't drive around with my laptop. I'll take the sound over the reading any day.

  • WOW all that flex with only about 1400watts!!! and it must sound amazing they all were amazed by the demo! =D

  • @FxOxC Well, it was probably a lot more than 1400W. As I've said in the video description, I'm powering this with an M4a. Though I'm still working to get rid of as much of the flex as possible.

  • Holy shit!!! That's too sick!

  • @BAGGED60VWBUG It sounds a lot less annoying in person.

  • Great work as usual man.

  • @SimpleOlCal29 Thanks.

  • May I say that your work has had a huge impact on my life. All your builds have been impressive as hell. I have always web interested in speakers, subwoofers, and enclosure design. Your work has kept me in me interested in my passion, engineering. So I am doing 2 yours of community college, then hope to major in architectural engineering, with my minor being acoustical engineering. Thanks for doing what you do!

Also, what are some good electric or dubstep songs you listen to?

    The songs on th

  • @21duthie Bare in mind that acoustic curriculum typically covers recording studio engineering, not so much what I do. Look into physics and trigonometry.

  • Holy crap!

  • sounds really good I have an atomic ap 8 gonna have to put in an order for a box design for it i'm not happy with the fourth order design that its in now

  • @mrchrisk36 Sounds good to me. Just be patient if you do put in an order. My project assessment cue is full.

  • @HexiBase

no problem Pete I'm sure your very busy I put in the assessment and will wait patiently :)

  • That looks like it sounds pretty awesome

  • @clickclakblastem52 Well, this video doesn't exactly depict the system's sound quality, but yes - it does sound good.

  • That my friend, is an amazing TL score. Amazing build!

  • @cardboardcat15 Thanks. But the bit with the TL was mainly to appease those who prefer to look at numbers than to listen to their speakers. And this setup is most certainly intended for listening.

  • coool

  • @goatskindreams Thanks.

  • awsome video man itsd allways fun when up upload :)

  • @streeatbeat Well, I've got a few rants coming up too.

  • Very nice!!

  • @archerlondon1414 Thanks.

  • So those DD's are not near their limits right??

  • @calvinblinkee Not just yet. Once I beef up my electrical system and wire the voice coils in parallel, then I'll more or less be milking them for all that they're worth. But I'm in no hurry.

  • wat would be the perfect box for 2 10" quantaum audio beta series in a 2002 buick century and how much would it cost

  • @MrDownkiller No idea. I don't yank designs out of thin air. I'd have to model your vehicle and run some simulations to see how your 10s behave in different enclosure types. Also, "perfect" is subjective based on the kind of sound you're looking for.

  • Holy ******* ****!!?!! I never would have thought that I would see those numbers pop up with an all out sq setup. But then again.. This is what you get when you do it right from the start! Respect!! Few people get over 150 even with one note wonder boxes. I almost feel like traveling to the states from Sweden just to be able to put my ass in your front seat. Wow.. It's a shame that videos can't be felt the same way as your car.

  • @DTDahl Quite frankly, it wouldn't have surprised me if I scored 120dB. How it sounds and how it meters are two completely different experiences. In fact, a number isn't even an experience; just a flimsy quantifier of one.

  • Love your vids man... Maybe i'm a dumbass and I can't navigate your site, or it may just be that its too variable, but how much... ball park. do you charge for a box design... just design, not build?

  • @Jaimesnoise There's a $50 flat engineering fee. You can also add various upgrades to speed the process along or to get additional performance data, (or both.)

  • @HexiBase thx, I will be in touch... not too soon, but eventually!

  • Damn, that's one hell of a nice set up!

    Are they broken in yet?

  • @two210 Just about.

  • Love

  • Very nice sir. I wish we didn't live on the opposite sides of the country I would to hear that in person

  • @91basshead Sounds like a road trip.

  • @HexiBase maybe one day lol

  • @HexiBase maybe one day lol

  • What alt amp 135

  • i want box that YOU have desinged !

  • @lebU95 Well, I do design them for a living.

  • @HexiBase dream job !

  • Bro u need to go on some spl comp and put others to shame with all the woofers they got nice very nice well done

  • @NickRon06 I don't really do SPL. That bit at the end was just something that I wanted to get out of the way because I knew I'd be hounded about it like it meant something. (Which it really doesn't.)

  • very nice pete!

  • @pedrotski2007 Thanks.

  • wow dude, I love it :)

  • @atomdragon4 Glad you do.

  • i dont want spl setup myself....can u make me a box?

  • @SinBeatz1 I'm sure I could. It's what I do for a living.

  • and this are 91z's? aren't they rated far less then this amp is

  • @First2ner It's actually the enclosure that determines their electrical / thermal / mechanical limitations within the operating bandwidth.

  • @HexiBase sure, but impedance raise would need to be high to use all of the amp output voltage it can output, and not thermal overdrive the speakers... would you sometime meter what power at some freq. you get from the amp?

  • @First2ner My impedance rise is actually localized to a pair of very narrow points. Throughout most of the operating bandwidth, it stays below 5 ohms.

  • @hexibase

Wow , i would love to see what a SPL set up would do if you put your mind to it ! 152! An its Not an spl build!

  • @FatManRepair Well, there's not going to be an SPL build done in my car. I just wanted to get the Term-LAB bit out of the way since it's the only way that some people "listen" to their stereo. It's just going to be music from here on forward.

  • what amp, alt, batts were used? im guessing batcap for batt. but just in case others were interested. awseome job!

  • @audiogamer Read the video description.

  • @HexiBase thank you for updating

  • LOL WOW 152.6. Nice!

  • @kay188 Thanks, though it doesn't really mean anything. I prefer reaction videos myself.

  • @kay188 yeah it is amazing but got to remember its at 50Hz.. waayy easier to get higher numbers with higher Freq.. but still very impressive especially that its db drag style (sealed up)
