I loved this show as a child in the 60's & how the youth of America really need George's Superman as a role model today instead of freaks & queers like lady gaga.
Excellent little bio. Sincere narration. Music under the voice appropriate. It's better than some bios from major networks. Lots of pics I never saw. There are 3 shots I wish you could add one day: George playing the acoustic guitar -- he was supposed to sing on the Ed Sullivan Show just before he died. One where he's appears as a Mexican bandito with a moustache looking dangerous. Pic with Burt Lancaster in From Here To Eternity. A movie he should have had a bigger role in.
@lastrada52 First, thank you very much for the compliment. George Reeves played in major role in my life, and I try to keep his memory alive every way I can. This past summer I organized a dinner in New York for forty fellow fans. As for "The Ed Sullivan Show," all my research indicates that never happened. George did appear on the "Tony Bennett Show" on August 11, 1956. George played Eduardo Esteban in "Argentine Nights" (Universal, 1940). That film is not available commercially. Jim
@jimnolt1946 - Thanks for getting back. Nice that you do this for George Reeves.Growing up in the 50's I had only 2 idols: Elvis Presley & Superman. So, Mr Reeves is held in high regard -- to this day. Yes, the Ed Sullivan thing never happened. I believe the reference was in a Superman book I had. Showed George at home with guitar & white hair saying he would appear to sing -- during his hiatus from Superman. I'll try to verify bk. Thanks for id'ing Argentine Nights.
@lastrada52 The book you mention is probably Gary Grossman's "Superman: Serial to Cereal." I know Gary, and at the time he wrote the book, it was thought that George appeared on Ed Sullivan, but since then it's been determined he did not. I have a website devoted to George Reeves. If you have an interest in George, please check jimnolt (dot) com. There you will find almost thirty years of research. Jim
@jimnolt1946 - Just visited your site & yes..a tribute to Robert Shayne. Great character actor. Even made a brief appearance in the 1990's - when he was already in his 90's - in the Flash Tv series. I thought it was cool the production people tracked him down to offer the part. It was great nostalgia to see him again. Phyllis Coates, Noel Neill & Jack Larson are still alive -- maybe someday you can get them to attend your dinners. Even I would go.
@CrescentViolet13 Thanks so much for the kind words regarding the video. As for George, I agree that he was a fine actor and, for me and many others, an inspiration.
very nice video jim...as a baby boomer who recently bought seasons 1-6 of superman, i find that your website provides excellent back up information to that great show of my youth....and i would whole-heatedly agree....he never cheated his fans and he embraced the role of superman....he certainly understood his lofty place in the hearts of kids and acted accordingly...... for that, i consider him a great man!
@DickPoleman Thanks for the nice words. I'm also happy to know you check the website from time to time. And if you haven't already done so, I urge you to check out the TAC Facebook page by clicking the Facebook link on the front page of my website.
@geezersinc Probably not. There was some talk a few years ago regarding his appearance on "The Tony Bennett Show." The thought was that perhaps the network has it stored away someplace. But nothing has ever turned up.
The marriage was short lived..because George's mom was a controlling and demanding B-! George met his real father many years later..when he was in the army..but time had passed too quickly..he couldn't relate to his real dad and he would never trust or deal with his mom ever again.
@tonyny77. You're welcome. It's easy to see, I suppose, that George Reeves meant a great deal to me in the early 50s and continues to be an influence on my life today. I'm happy to know you enjoyed it
Dear Jim ... That was more lovely than mere words can describe. Thanks for being such a great fan and admirer of the person that tens of millions of Americans loved and adored through his masterful portrayal of Clark Kent. Thanks very much and all the best to you.

Great job Jim! Outside of George's appearance on "I Love Lucy", does any other footage exist of his guest appearances?
