I loved this game when i was little but now i can't even play it :( Stupid old ps3 broke and i don't have a clue where my old gamecube went off too...
I just discovered this game on my kid's system, and have enjoyed playing it. Except, I've reached a point where I can't win. I know there are things I'm missing, but if anyone can tell me how to defend the electric fences from the spiders and manti, that would be great. I kill as many as I can, but they break down both fences, and eventually destroy the lab. I've tried more than twenty times - obviously I'm missing something. Anyone have a tip for me?
@BBCater get one the faster ships and gather colonist to make tanks and place few tanks on each side of the fence so if the gates drop the widows will have a nasty surprise then concentrate on the manti with only infectors(lil biped runts) kill those manti infectors gone then work on killing the gamma(red) landers since they have more fire power then standard units and kill all yellow jackets(yellow/black units) on site they have some nasty weapons that'll do a number to buildings
Respond to this video... - continuing keep the number of infectors down take pock shots at the widows(giant spiders) once in a while to soften them up eventually you'll end up getting a distress call from about 5-6 colonist out in the desert pick them up make a new tank by this time you should have 4 tanks in total 2 each side and have some breathing room if you killed the gamma and yellow jackets now do strafing runs on the single widow and take it out it'll be tough but-(cont.)
Respond to this video...-(cont.) it'll be tough but it'll mean one less threat to worry about now after then put one tank from the single widow side to the gate next to the 2 widows and grad the 4th one and carry it around(it'll be your segregate gun and cover your 6) and again kill the widows this'll open a cut scene and spawn the boss now with tank in tow head after the boss the tank will give you covering fire and keep the beta landers off you and eventually it'll help kill theboss
I'm replaying this game right now and I still love it after all these years. I think Defiance is my favorite of all the ships. Guardian is definitely the worst. Real high defense, but slower than a tortoise in molasses.
Nemesis is my fav ship and it is good for this mission. but this is before u even get the ship :-) ive beaten the whole game twice, the last lvl earth! definitely a piece o shit to beat
Can i get help with Mars? the manti widows are coming from 3 spots, but mostly front and left. i have to protect from air assault all around, for the first few mins i have to protect dropships of colonists, then i have to pick some up b4 the widows get them. by the time i get the ships mostly safe, the widows are right up on me and i cant stop them. they step on my AA, tanks, and Tesla vehicles. plox help. a video of you beating it would rock. tyz :P

I'm replaying this game right now and I still love it after all these years. I think Defiance is my favorite of all the ships. Guardian is definitely the worst. Real high defense, but slower than a tortoise in molasses.

@dusk804 Nemesis is by far my favorite ship because of the ratchet cannon upgrade that with enough patience, can down those giant spider-like tanks.

Nemesis is definetely the ship for this mission. With it's high speeds, you can rescue colonists before the manti even get near them

You need a laser lance. It will kill the widows quickly, leaving you with plenty of time to pick up colonists.
