Adam was perfect...and one sin was enough to cast him out of perfection... one sin is enough to lead someone to damnation...this isn't a game, its the world or God, there is no middle ground
Great work. Listened to the original just before finding this. Musically and vocally, "It's Not Eden" would be excellent as a cover tribute; even better by winning the Word back to the Lord. "Kryptonite" to "Kids tonight": inspired!
Lyric correction (as requested): third line in final stanza (3rd from last line in song) missing the word "man."
Now I'll off to hear the rest of this fun offering!!
Originally, people blamed Eve for the entire Fall. However, since then, a lot of people have come to the realization that it was just as much Adam's fault as it was Eve's. Both of them had the option to say no, and let it slip.
This song is supposed to be from Adam's "voice."
When God asked Adam why he ate of the tree which gave Knowledge of Good and Evil, he said "You gave the woman to me so that she would be my partner. She gave the fruit to me and I ate."
Since then, until more enlightened times, people have blamed women in general for being "temptresses" because it was a woman who told Adam to eat the fruit. That's where us women get a lot of the flak. Again, nowadays, people know that the blame should be mutually placed.
@Indifferent2YourPain Actually, if you read the answer Adam gave, he doesn't just blame the woman, but lays the blame at the foot of God himself. "YOU gave her to me, what'd ya expect?" is kinda like the more modern reading of it.
Nevertheless, your assessment of historical theological divergences is pretty dead on. Having studied World / Church history, I've always found it sad how quickly we run to arguing rather than just face the plain & simple truth. Cudo's to you.
@Indifferent2YourPain however he never says it is any ones fault he is saying what happened. it is up to us to infer that he is blaming her. Some could argue that he is simply stating facts. even so I agree with your interpretation.
@1Pandaking Yeah, it's hard to know exactly what was indicated there, and no matter how many theologists study, we may never know. Have to ask Him that when we get there :)

Yeah, I'm so glad Apologetix can take the songs that kids listen to today and turn them into somthing lyrically Biblical.
Thanks for pointing out the lyric thing! :)

So basically, Adam blamed Eve.

@BethelAbba I never really thought about it that way, about Adam blaming God, but I guess that does make sense. Hmm. You've made me think! :)
