  • Great queen

  • Nana Yaa Asantewaa is the greatest queen of our history.

Nana Yaa was full of spirit and determination when she defeated those who wanted conquer our kingdom of the Ejisu kingdom of the Asante region.

Nana Yaa Asantewaa is one of our great daughters and sheroes of Africa and we must learn more about her as well as visit her kingdom of Ejisu near Kumasi.

  • @peasah2005

Nana Yaa Asantewaa was so self-determined because she wasn't scared of the odds, this was a great Queen Mother who conquered and triumphed at the same time.

Nana Yaa wasn't afraid to put her life on the line onto those who loved her so much.

Nana Yaa Asantewaa is our great courageous sheroe and we shouldn't forget it.

  • You screw up and made a deal with the devil the british. You should have fought them instead you are in bed with them

  • If you want to do a film to increase the conciousness of people, you have to find a dfferent way of funding, in order to ensure that the audience you want to enlighten, receive it. This way of funding your project is only going to enlighten those who can afford it, whom most likely re already enlightened. Don't take this personal. It's constructive criticism for you and all those that want to do conscious things. Oherwise, you are just using the conscious banner for materialistic gain.

  • are you offering to fund my work ?

  • We can fund your work.

  • While the Euopeans educate their children for free about how we used to be their slaves and as such they keep looking down on us. Greed made us sell our own brothers and now money makes us keep our brothers ignorant

  • thank you Vito. I'm glad you came accross my work. A work that I have shared and has een enjoyed by over 14.000 people in total for free!

  • No wonder Africa is still struggling. Africans don't know their history. The European educated scholars are even the ones that let us down the most. 40% of Ghanaians can't read and write, don't even earn £10 a day, and are supposed to fork out money to know about their own history.

  • you are one of thoes sad people who think concious filmmakers should not charge for their work. show me how to feed my family on stones and fresh air. prehaps I can pay the contributors, camera and light makers with stones and fresh air as well. let me know how you find it working for free

  • I am very happy i came across this video, thanks for the posting it is very informative. I feel Ghanaians and most African countries have consistently shied away from embracing our own history and opted for that of Europeans. We need to embrace our cultures and value our unique nature.

  • These are very important details of what happened to Africa during colonisation. By hook or crook, Queen Victoria of the English Crown wanted to take the Ashanti Golden stool, a sacred object that in Luo Language, is called Kom Nyarluo! In order to dominate a people, the Illuminati take take away their sacred HAT as well the their sacred STOOL. That way a people is forced to live under the master's hat (crown). By taking away the stool, they take the POWERS that belong only to the ancestors.

  • WHy don't you make a video about the butt whoopings we delivered to them and, the long resistance to colonialism instead of this crap... We all know what happened when they got people from the coast, Carribean, and others to get on their team to eventually get the Ashanti but, talk about the high points and the long resistance and stop all this...

  • What is crap about this piece in particular?

  • thank u so much for posting this video. im a young guy tryin to study my country's history. much appreciated!!

  • Thanks for posting this video. I am homeschooling and was glad to find this video as childen need something in video to learn faster we have books but video is easier for her to learn from. Cheers.

  • I love this documentary so much.i can say it is unique and inspirational. Akua could you please work out a documentary on the link between the KWAHU AND THE ASHANTI?

  • An excellent excellent documentary to cover will be the Ashanti Culture and Royal customs. And you can see all this under one sitting if you aim for the Annual Durbar held at Manhyia Palace where all the chiefs under the Asante Kingdom who report to the KING, gather and held a very detailed and interesting ceremony. You will learn so much from it. EVERy drum beat, dance, gesture - everything has a meaning related to OUR culture. You should go to that.

  • HISTORY CLASS. I NEED MORE:)

  • This is an absolutely brilliant piece on a great yet unfortunately forgotten historical fact. I couldn't have done this better myself. Ghanaian people have are slowly forgetting Nana Yaa Asantewaa, what she and her legacy mean and essentially our culture all together.
