  • Thank you Nicky.

  • @barachhim Nicky, can you please set this video so that it is viewable on mobile devices...please:)

  • thats verses from the abstract a tribe called quest sampled it

  • I can definitely hear where Pharcyde were influenced by this track when you listen to 'She Said', as good as this is, I must admit I think GB's version just seems to have an edge. Peace.

  • @micljnes GB's version ???????

  • @XrisSmiles That would be the great 'eorge Benson' my friend, take care and be well.

  • @micljnes Thanks for the info. I like GB. But id have to disagree that this version is better, even slightly. GB R&B'd it up, But the original is meant to have 'spacey' more mysterious effect to it, Johny nailed it. Most people dont notice, but Johny Wilders voice on backup alot of time resembles a slight-auto-tune effect, for example at 4:15 when he says "Star of the". u know they didn't have that back then.

anyways, im wokring on my cover for this song, ill let u know when its up

  • @XrisSmiles My pleasure friend, and difference of opinion is a healthy thing, my opinioon is merely 1 of many but I hear you relative to the point on 'auto-tuning, and ultimately, good luck with your personal pursuits and I hope it all pans out well for you. 1 love.

  • Author G D Grace loves this... .

  • I have always loved this song and now I love your compilation here!! Very good job, indeed!!

  • who is the girl @ 5:02...........she is BREATH-TAKING

  • NickyC30, BEAUTIFUL!! I first viewed this in the wee hours of the morning. I commend you on how very well it was put together. I don't think you could have picked a better song to capture the beauty.- Eartha Kitt, Judy Pace,a young P. Roshad, .... Someone's favorite will always be left out but I agree with Division 1985 - you put the time and effort in - I don't think you hinted that these were the best , or this was complete. Is there a way to get the names of these ladies? THANK YOU.

  • I would like to see images of Harriet Tubman, Sojourner Truth, Bessie Smith, Hattie McDaniel, Margaret Hagan and others who may be considered stone foxes, but are none the less beautiful.

  • OMG, I had this album back when I was in the 8th grade...one of my favorites of all time! Along with Weather Report, Donald Byrd and the Black Birds...Heat Wave opened my ears to soul mixed with jazz.. Solid songs, soild musicanship and one of the best lead singers ever!

  • You are..My star..You are. Hey, great montage. You put in the time & effort to create this. You don't have to add anybody else.

So hold me all thru the night, light up my life, stay 'til the day is bright

And Angel don't ever break (don't break the spell) the spell

Cause you're the Star of a Story I'll always tell (You are the star, you are the star

  • 70s soul/funk music has always been my # 1 favorite music, so how this particular song slipped by me...I don't know. Course I always knew Heatwave, but don't think I'd ever heard this song til the other day on the radio. They didn't say who sung it but at first I thought it was maybe EW & F (Philip Bailey). Upon googling, then I saw it was Heatwave. What a beautiful song! And yeah, show some regular women.. and yeah, what is with those pro-ball players? Well...we all know what's up with them!

  • This is beautiful, I thought George Bensons version was great, which it is. This is outworldly. The Video is divine thanks for posting. Picture at 1.17 is raw beauty personified Dagnamit

A truly thorough tribute to so many amazing women in the entertainment business from legends, to some who may become legends as well as those who shined brightly for what may have been a moment but, for many fans seemed more like the sweetest eternity. I had to add this to my favorites.

  • This is really wonderful.

  • I think I have forwarded this to everyone on the planet at least twice and I have watched it 7,00 times since I found it 3 days ago. This is sheer excellence, each pic captures the pure natural beaty of each woman and reinforces that YES black women are BEAUTIFUL. We want MORE.

  • I love my sistas!

  • Uh, you can always do a part 2 to this video, and include the other women who didn't make it into this one. Then you can make part 3, 4, etc..

  • Beautiful Video!!!!

  • where is whitney houston?

  • @Bahia82 yourrrrr crazzzzzy

  • @mino4547 why am I crazy whitney houston was actually a model before she became a singer, and out of all these women is the only one I would consider a "natural beauty" whats crazy about that?

  • This was one of the most beautiful videos I've ever watched. I know it's diffcult to capture every strong beautiful back woman both past and present, nonetheless, a breathtaking video. Thank you for posting this gem. PS: Star of the Story has always been one of my favorite songs of all times....

  • all women regardless of race or age have the potential 4 inner beauty & beautiful black woman=redundancy.

b4 some might comment "if U think that beautiful black woman=redundancy, then why did U marry a Pinay(?)" my answer=because God WANTED me 2.

tell your children that every girl can be a Wonder Woman; every B.U.D. can be a Man Without Fear.

Your montage is so perfect to this song. The images are so beautiful. So raw and timeless. Thank you for sharing. Did you put together any other montages?

  • who's that at 1:19 - 1:20, seems familiar but can't place her....yeah answered before I posted it...Bill Cosby's screen missus...she is definitely hot there

  • To whom ever posted this video...first of all I would like to say thank you. I can also state the fact that Johnnie Wilder Jr. had one of the clearest natural falsettos in the business. Just take the time to listen to this song and "All That I Am" from the Candles LP, you can clearly hear that he was more than a singer, he was a gift from God with a voice like that. May you rest in peace Johnnie Wilder Jr. We really miss that voice.
