soo dumb ass fucking people like this who leaves huge snakes around there kids makes people who own these snakes the right way look bad stupid people shouldnt have kids or animals or even worst both
i am still trying to figure out why people keep reptiles as "pets"? you cannot train them. i dont really think a snake or lizard shows affection or gratefulness. i think the ownership of one of these critters is all about ego..something to show off ang get attention for yourself. leave these things in their natural habitat and let them enjoy their life, like you do yours
i have 3 Burmese pythons,, 2 ball pythons.. and a 9 foot red tail boa...and 3 kids...its all in how you treat your snakes..my kids play with all my snakes...while im with them mind you....its all in the owner...
i own 6 snakes 3 spiders a 4ft iguana and a dog. my biggest is 12ft tiger retic pythong and i have a ball pythong and 3 red tail boas one which is 8ft long.and a kingsnake. snakes are often misunderstood and yes there should of been supervision when the snake was around the baby but the snake is doing what it has in its nature. dont blame the snake. blame the parents. i have snake around kids all the time and i have no problems. the only thing you can do if a snake coils you is ram ur thumb through its eye socket and dig into its brain. no use trying to wrestle it, they are too strong and there teeth are barbed hooks meaning its hard to pull against the teeth without ripping all ur skin off. poke an eye out and then skull fuck the snake with ur thumb or index finger. you got to act fast, if it traps both your arms, ur dead.
You own a pet, you are responsible for it. It is no secret that snakes kill people. If I owned a large snake, I would put the cage on a shelf in a way that the only way to take the top off the cage is to take the cage off the shelf. This is horrible to hear about and parents need to realize how dangerous some pets can be.
fuck you you know what boas and pythons are amazing animals go to hell it wasn't the boa or pythons fault it was the people that owned it you stupid bastard
these people know shit all, they CANT break bones you fucking idiot, and its the owners that are dangerous in not keeping their animals properly. get a clue retards
i have a 7 ft boa constrictor and it is a great pet, Very gentle and easy to take care of. Boas are known for being one of the most docile species of large snakes. Yes they shouldn't have let their python near the child but you guys seriously know nothing about snakes or snake owners.
Yet over 20 people are killed a YEAR by the pet dog, but you aren't screaming for everyone to get rid of the dogs? Why not? A dozen people in over 30 years by pythons.. vs 20 people a YEAR.. many of them children.. and many are killed by dogs NOT their own.. so is that better?? Freaking idiots.

I knew a guy in Oregon who shot his German shepherd after he ate his infant son this happened in the 70s I think. People get angry at me sometimes for saying your dogs will eat you but they forget dogs were wolves and in many sense they still are. Can they say wolves will never eat your baby? But I trust dogs over snakes. That's for sure.
Argue the python problem all you want, its not going to make a difference. the kid got killed by a python. heres a question, how many kids get killed by playing with daddys guns?? ill tell you this, its FAR more likely a child will be killed by a gun, an abusive NEGLECTFUL parent or a drunk driver. so stop acting you know everything there is to know about these animals because YOU DONT. your just wannabe news anchors and your not helping anyone like you Brag you do. get over yourselves.
Wow what a bunch of ignorant fucks... i wish people would just pull there heads out of there ass and learn something. If the man had been feeding it 8 foot (just looking at the pic couldnt be much bigger than that) it would not have gotten out in search of food. Dont blame the snake because you think it made eve eat the apple.
iresponsible snakes r great pets parents fault not the snake should have just watched the baby when the snake was in the house people r gonna try to ban snakes as pets now because of there ignorance of them
innacurate it was not 20 feet learn to listen sounds like you retards are grabbing the JD people are ignorant pick up a book and read about snakes before you talk about them IDIOTS
This video is a huge bunch of crap. The facts they are giving are completely wrong. I do blame the guy for bad parenting but snakes are not dangerous pets if you're smart about it.
You never leave a baby unattended... this applies no matter what... if you have a snake (let alone 2) in your house then you better keep your shit together because you are running serious fucking risks that can clearly end in a serious tragedy. If your baby gets drunk then that is fucking up parenting, if your baby is killed by a dangerous pet when you leave your baby unattended then that is fucking up at life.
This is political B.S. PETA at it's worst. False facts and stretched truths. More then 800,000 people have to seek medical treatment for dog bites EACH YEAR, 26 of which die on average. Between 1979 and 1998 more then 300 Americans died b/c of dog bites. White tail deer cause 150 vehicle incident fatalities EVERY YEAR(National Safety Council). 1 in 27 American house holds own large snakes yet they are 25 times less likely to be killed by large snakes then dogs. Educate yourselves, PM ME FOR MORE
Thank you, BCSGTO. It really is refreshing to see someone who actually uses factual evidence to prove a valid point... rather than just spitting bullshit opinions based in ingnorance and fear. Bravo, thumbs up from me.
What is stupid is the media. You guys hear some stuff and then repeat it over and over until the mass of the country actually believes you then they are doing it, that is what drives me crazy. Try to think back to High School and remember when your teachers talked about cheating and plagiarism because that is all the media does. READ FACTS. I'll provide you with some right quick from the CDC and the NATION SAFETY COUNCIL., report this!
Sorry to hear this happened. Bottom line is owners like this make a bad name for the animals. If you have your snakes area properly secured (locked) the snake cant get out. Period. Pythons and Boas are not the problem, the irresponible owners are. But what really pisses me off is this piss poor media. The cant report anything of use and when they report something like this they do their best to make these animals evil and visious. The media sucks plain and simple.
This is some BULLSHIT!!!!!!! now the whole reptile nation in the USA is under heavy heavy fire by the government and all kinds of ignorant fuckin people!!!!! THE REPTILE NATION IS NOT GIVING UP!!!!!!!! just cuz of 1 piece of shit irresponsible fuckin moron who dun take the herping hobby seriously now us thousands have to pay for his BULLSHIT!!!!!! FUCK HIM!!!!! FUCK HIM FOR being so stupid!!!!!!!!!!!!! JUST FUCK HIM!!!!I IT's ALL HIS FAULT A CHILD HAD TO DIE!!!!!!!!! BIG FUCK U"S TO HIM!!!!!!!
Wow irresponsible owners cause this shit, Boa and pythons are not evil they are, Burms and Boas can make good pets, but only if ppl know how to take care of them... So ppl like that guy are idiots, never leave a child and a python unattended.... ... P.S. the alcohol thing doesn't work i saw it on SnakebitesTV , the just stay biting
Are pythons really that dangerous? Why don't you guys report on the dog and cat attacks on children in the US in the last ten years... and cross reference that with domesticated snake attacks. Do some research before spouting out your biased, bullshit opinions.
Maybe you should research some of the facts before pulling bullshit like that out of your ass. There is a much higher ownership rate of dogs and cats in the usa, than there are of EXOTIC animals, such as snakes. So of course there will be more dog and cat attacks on record.
Your comment is just stupid and has absolutely no substance I dont even know why i responded to it.
vRaZ1el: I too don't understand why you would waste your time (sorry about your loss) on a reply to my comment... But, being that you seem to be in a typing mood, go ahead and use that infinite knowledge of yours and correct me on the bullshit I've magically pulled out of my ass... Please show me one factual dis-truth regarding my last comment.
you know what....these parents are dumbass' you cant tame a fucking snake. there is no such thing as a tamed python. its a fucking snake that lives based on its animal instinct. if its hungry then it eats whatever is available so to the rest of you who dont see anything wrong with having dangerous animals around small children your a dumbass. Let your baby swim with sharks while your at it. hell let him ride on a lions back for a few hours im sure simba loves giving rides
Maybe they forgot to mention it was kept hungry for too long. We had a python in the house for several years, it wasn't a 20ft like this one but a bit over 12ft and very capable of killing an adult human. Also a 9 year old kid and domestic cat living in the house.
We fed the python regularly and took him out of the cage regularly, never killed or attempted to hurt anyone. The case in this video is a failure of a stupid, irresponsible owner who probably doesn't know much about his pets.
clowns huh? this coming from a person that only talks about playing video games lol yea clowns, stick to playing kid games retard.. also you call people that keep pythons clowns there are people that make more money selling snakes then you will ever make playing kid video games. i see you also have micheal jackson as you favorites people with snakes are clowns.. with all the charges against him i would think you wouldnt judge people.. stick to video games
there are also millions of snakes in captivity and lotsof those are harmless. there is a guy that posts on youtube that lives in the detroit area that has soemthing like 30k snakes so the whole dogs are more popular is not a very good argument.
id really have to have some kinda mental connection with the snake to leave it withmy kid. because it doesnt matter, i could love it to death, doesnt mean it doesnt like squeezing small things. id like my pet tarantuala, i dont let it baby sit the kids. i like my pool, i dont let it babysit my kids.
The problem with PITBULL v other dog statistics is that they dont take into account the fact that there are far more pitbulls than any other dog, and that the statistics are not done on a percentile chart but rather an actual number.
For example you have 100 PitBulls but only 3 Labradors then, if 3 of the pits bite, then that gives a totaly bias and unfair figure.
This is typical of the anti-pitbull bullshit that has gone on recently.
Aren't animal rescues places where people take animals that aren't wanted? Wouldn't that account for the increased number of Pit Bulls if people are afraid of them? That doesn't reflect the percent of population.
Personally, I never met a Pit Bull I didn't like. They seem like very nice and seemingly intelligent dogs.
Rescues taking in these dogs are not taking in because the owner is scared of the dogs. Never have I seen that. Not personally, and no one I know personally say that either.
What they are scared of is the Lies and hype about what these dogs can do
I say CAN with a pinch of salt because all terrier dogs are nippy shits, Jack russles etc are little bastards and only a few dont try to nip strngers, and yet we dotn see a campaign against these do we ?
In my city some douche bags are trying to ban pitbulls.. Why? The German Shepard is #1 in bites, the Chow Chow 2nd, and the Golden Retriver 3rd.
In bite strength the Rotty is #1 and Shepard #2...
It's HOW YOU RAISE YOUR PET!!!! I Guess lets ban the pitbull to extinction because they are dangerous. Well so is my Gordon Setter a Bird Dog... stupid assholes.
Yea you have a good point but when looking at those stats you should probably remember those dogs are a lot more popular so there are likely to be more bites recorded. The golden retriever is a naturally more docile dog which is why it doesn't have the bad rep.
Since you're blowing so hard, let me fill in the fact that you conveniently left out. Pit bulls are number #1 in the USA in canine HOMICIDES. Yes, not just bite, bite... but dead, dead.
You can't put a band-aid on a corpse. In fact, Pit Bulls and Rottweilers constitute more than 50% of all canine-related deaths. People get over a dog-bite. A little harder to get over little timmy being mauled to death.
Prove that. I don't believe that number. 50%? I think you made that up.
And if you didn't....
Those are breeds that scum people use to exploit their insticts and use them as attack dogs and/or fight them. Which is not the dog's fault. Its all in how you raise your pet.
@aquiace that's the idiot owners' fault for raising them to be violent. no matter what pet you get you need to be able to take on the responsibility. every pet has different needs and ways you need to handle them.
Gonna have to disagree. I have nothing against snakes I have two friends with pythons. But dogs are far more trainable than any snake could be. It's up to the owner to socialize them. Snakes on the other hand work on instinct which hasn't (if even could be) bread out of them. There are obviously more dog attacks than snakes since more people own dogs than snakes. But is a python safer than a dog against children (and the child a member of the family too) I think not.
There are lots of responsible python/boa owners and these animals are by no means monstrous killing machines. However, they are *not* domesticated in the same way dogs are. Wolves are an excellent analogy here; they are very intelligent and can be perfectly safe pets, but they absolutely *cannot* be trusted unattended around children because they are *not* domesticated animals. They are still instinct-driven. They do not understand that human infants are not prey.
dogs ? have you ever been attacked by a dog with the keeper running after telling you " the dog wont harm you" while the dog ran out like streets away from his house ? I wouldnt mind a python way more then a dog. both predators, and both shouldnt be treated otherwise but with the respect a predator should get.
Dogs aren't. Dogs are carnivours, although hostile behaviour is tamed out. In packs they can still kill things. When hostile behaviour is trained out of a snake it doesn't kill anything.
Search "snake kills person" and "Dog kills person" on google, see for your self.
what a shocker, listen pythons belong in the jungle, the poor things get smuggled by mobsters through out the world, many suffer cruel fates and something like this happens and they get a bad rap, the parents should not have kept a snake when they had a kid, also these smuggled pythons have been released in the Florida everglades and they have ruined the environment
Unekwu89 why is it foolish ? cause your a moron that doesnt know what your talking about its a fact that dogs and horses kill more people a year then reptiles why dont you look it up before makeing a stupid comment about dogs be domesticated. a little girl was kill right before this happend with the snake and no one said a word about it cause it happens all the time. i believe it was her family dogs that attacked her in her own yard.
.. in Florida! no doubt .. Actually I *am* from Florida and I have several friends with large snakes .. pythons and boa's are nice compared to anacondas who are mean.
Considering Florida's justice system, the father will likely be put away for a mandatory minimum of at least 20 years on something worse than negligent homicide.
i heard that the everglades has 100s of thousands of these things. Maybe the US could sell them back to Burma. It's just one more crazy thing that could only happen in these latter days. El Snako was just being snake like. The world kaleidiscope turns.
The kid was save for 730 days. I would figure the danger was when the child was younger and smaller. After 730 days I don't think the father could see it comming. Two year olds get around. I'm not blaming the little girl but maybe she did something to put herself at risk.
The girl is 2, you can't possibly hope to say "but maybe she did something to put herself at risk" and not be taken for an idiot. IT'S A PYTHON and she is a CHILD, a TWO YEAR OLD child.
nothing wrong with having a python, even a 20 footer. if you have it secured that is. you can keep the thing locked in a cage where it really can not get out. it's irresponsible to keep it in a cage where it can even possibly get out. steel reinforced glass with a bolted top. its dangerous to have any snake over probably 6 feet anyway. this guy was obviously stupid enough to have it able to get out and kill someone or something.
Exactly. the public uproar always focuses on their own fear of reptiles in general and try to clamp down so nobody can so much as have a garter snake because they are too ignorant to distinguish the nuances of the situation. They know so little about herps that they assume they are all out to hunt humans. If the snake had been fed enough recently, it would not have been interested in a toddler. Most large snake owners i know have a snake ROOM that is locked.
thank you for understanding the grey area man. ive been around large pythons my whole life, and yes, im scared of them, rightly so, but i understand the dangers and my brother who had them did as well, and he made sure that 10ft python could not get out of it's enclosure. the people who don't take these reptiles seriously, get hurt, and give everyone else a bad name. i know i'm not going to be killed by one, and i feel safe it being in my house. it's all about responsibility.
I live in Florida and a snake randomly got in our house into my brothers room and into his shoe one day. It wasn't dangerous though, our neighbor got it out for us :) BTW I heard this family lost another 2 year old to a disease a few years ago. What bad luck x_x
There are accidents in life, and this was a bad one. But. The father here won't face criminal charges and rightly so. And saying people shouldn't have something because of what might happen. To quote, "It's like saying that the adults have to subsist on skim milk because bady can't handle steak."
It's sad about the little girl but something bad could have happened with just about any pet (OK, maybe not a goldfish, but a dog, yeah). People shouldn't leave toddlers alone like that - a two year old could strangle itself with a plastic bag in less time than the snake did.
People need to leave wildlife alone. Don't fuck with snakes, sharks, bears, or any animal that can kill you. Snakes belong in the jungle not in your house. Yeah, some people are fucking stupid.
These parents... I dont even know what to say. First of all the snake bit the kid. So they had a snake with fangs in the house that could bite anyone at any time? Second of all, a boa constrictor? Their name says it all! They crush their victims by wrapping themselves around it. How could you possible let that thing anywhere near your child? Even though i want to hate these people, they did lose their child, and I don't think they deserve a huge punishment. They are probably suffering enough.
It's called social commentary. Try broadening your sphere of experience a little and watch something you won't know if you agree with. Then you can join in. Plus I think you mean 'None of you trolls CAN get a life'. Study English much?
Florida I knew it! I said to myself, "20 bucks this is from florida" before I even clicked on the link. Florida - a penis shaped state filled with crazy as mother fvckers
haha I had the same thought... damn I hate when stereotypes are proven true... what a mess. Pythons should be illegal to own... especially in homes with children... and idiots for parents. I won't even let my two year old around cats I don't know LOL
No, reptiles DON'T get out all the time, not any more than cats and dogs do. I have had reptiles all my life. All you have to do to get a reptile to let go is water PERIOD in the face, not even HOT water. Most reptile people are responsiblet, take very good care of their pets, and don't become a nuisance to neighbors. But we are treated like nuisances just because people are more afraid of our pets...usually because they hear about incidents like this one and assume it will happen 2 them
I am a moron? You don't know what my pets are. All I said was "reptiles." I wish I did have some large carnivorous ones to swallow presumptuous loudmouths like you who think you know every angle of an issue because your imagination is vivid.
My pets are more civililzed than blustery fools who don't know enough about reptiles to comment but choose to blabber at a total stranger. It pays to understand animals before assuming things about them and the people who love them.
You are very rude. Why be insulting? "All and any animals is dangerous?" Humans are more dangerous than the rest combined. If you are phobic about animals, that is your business, and you are free to live in "no pets" buildings, but the animals of the world cannot be exterminated to satisfy irrational fears, and ALL fear of animals IS irrational. If you understand a species and treat it with respect, you have nothing to fear. The problem is that jerks taunt them and whine when bitten.
How am i being rude? It's a fact animals are dangerous. Yea humans are dangerous were animals to, I have nothing against animals but your too close minded, probably cause you stick your snakes up your ass all day. So you telling me the baby girl provoked the snake? While she was sleeping?
Hey did you know that one species of dog kills more people a year than every giant python species combined. :)

Many large dog breeds can kill you just as dead as a 15 foot python. Oh, and they do, every year, children included.
chiconspiracy 2 years ago
Argue the python problem all you want, its not going to make a difference. the kid got killed by a python. heres a question, how many kids get killed by playing with daddys guns?? ill tell you this, its FAR more likely a child will be killed by a gun, an abusive NEGLECTFUL parent or a drunk driver. so stop acting you know everything there is to know about these animals because YOU DONT. your just wannabe news anchors and your not helping anyone like you Brag you do. get over yourselves.

Let your baby swim with sharks while your at it. hell let him ride on a lions back for a few hours im sure simba loves giving rides
mrhall2907 2 years ago
Maybe they forgot to mention it was kept hungry for too long. We had a python in the house for several years, it wasn't a 20ft like this one but a bit over 12ft and very capable of killing an adult human. Also a 9 year old kid and domestic cat living in the house.
We fed the python regularly and took him out of the cage regularly, never killed or attempted to hurt anyone. The case in this video is a failure of a stupid, irresponsible owner who probably doesn't know much about his pets.

FatRakoon 2 years ago
Do you have reliable and independant evidence that pitbulls are the most popular and prevalent type of pet dog?
(i.e. not a 'pro pitbull' website).
BobfromSydney 2 years ago
The problem is going to go both ways and never will be a fair one.
completely unbias websites simply dont exist, you will find either pro or anti, but none will be neutral.
Even the ASPCA / RSPCA etc sites are often subsidised and will give answers that lean in a direction but will not porttray the truth.
So, finding a site I will be wasting my time.
I only go by what I know and working in a kennel / Rescue for 15 years has shown me that Pits / Staffs etc count for more than any other dog.
FatRakoon 2 years ago
Aren't animal rescues places where people take animals that aren't wanted? Wouldn't that account for the increased number of Pit Bulls if people are afraid of them? That doesn't reflect the percent of population.
Personally, I never met a Pit Bull I didn't like. They seem like very nice and seemingly intelligent dogs.
lakesidelivin 2 years ago

Brewhahh 2 years ago
Yea you have a good point but when looking at those stats you should probably remember those dogs are a lot more popular so there are likely to be more bites recorded. The golden retriever is a naturally more docile dog which is why it doesn't have the bad rep.
joefish41 2 years ago
Hey Brewhahh,
Since you're blowing so hard, let me fill in the fact that you conveniently left out.
A little harder to get over little timmy being mauled to death.
aquiace 2 years ago 5
Prove that. I don't believe that number. 50%? I think you made that up.
And if you didn't....
Those are breeds that scum people use to exploit their insticts and use them as attack dogs and/or fight them. Which is not the dog's fault. Its all in how you raise your pet.
Spiderweb127 2 years ago
@aquiace that's the idiot owners' fault for raising them to be violent. no matter what pet you get you need to be able to take on the responsibility. every pet has different needs and ways you need to handle them.

You are a fucking idiot.
People get ravaged by dogs, every day.
The Young Turks are really wrong about this story, a python is far more safe than a dog.
Silhouette93 2 years ago
Wow, hostile much?
xCrazyJayx 2 years ago
Gonna have to disagree. I have nothing against snakes I have two friends with pythons. But dogs are far more trainable than any snake could be. It's up to the owner to socialize them. Snakes on the other hand work on instinct which hasn't (if even could be) bread out of them. There are obviously more dog attacks than snakes since more people own dogs than snakes. But is a python safer than a dog against children (and the child a member of the family too) I think not.
Brewhahh 2 years ago
^^ This.
ExaltedLeader 2 years ago

Python is safer then a damn dog....

dogs ? have you ever been attacked by a dog with the keeper running after telling you " the dog wont harm you" while the dog ran out like streets away from his house ? I wouldnt mind a python way more then a dog. both predators, and both shouldnt be treated otherwise but with the respect a predator should get.
lezvarthok 2 years ago
True, but I've never encountered a dog that could wrap itself around you and crush your bones effortlessly...
xCrazyJayx 2 years ago
Snakes are kept in a cage.
Dogs aren't. Dogs are carnivours, although hostile behaviour is tamed out. In packs they can still kill things. When hostile behaviour is trained out of a snake it doesn't kill anything.
Search "snake kills person" and "Dog kills person" on google, see for your self.

nothing wrong with having a python, even a 20 footer. if you have it secured that is. you can keep the thing locked in a cage where it really can not get out. it's irresponsible to keep it in a cage where it can even possibly get out. steel reinforced glass with a bolted top. its dangerous to have any snake over probably 6 feet anyway. this guy was obviously stupid enough to have it able to get out and kill someone or something.
thecellarlife 2 years ago 3
Exactly. the public uproar always focuses on their own fear of reptiles in general and try to clamp down so nobody can so much as have a garter snake because they are too ignorant to distinguish the nuances of the situation. They know so little about herps that they assume they are all out to hunt humans. If the snake had been fed enough recently, it would not have been interested in a toddler. Most large snake owners i know have a snake ROOM that is locked.

There are accidents in life, and this was a bad one. But. The father here won't face criminal charges and rightly so. And saying people shouldn't have something because of what might happen. To quote, "It's like saying that the adults have to subsist on skim milk because bady can't handle steak."
franksnow79 2 years ago
It's sad about the little girl but something bad could have happened with just about any pet (OK, maybe not a goldfish, but a dog, yeah). People shouldn't leave toddlers alone like that - a two year old could strangle itself with a plastic bag in less time than the snake did.

hash1212 2 years ago 2
No, reptiles DON'T get out all the time, not any more than cats and dogs do. I have had reptiles all my life. All you have to do to get a reptile to let go is water PERIOD in the face, not even HOT water. Most reptile people are responsiblet, take very good care of their pets, and don't become a nuisance to neighbors. But we are treated like nuisances just because people are more afraid of our pets...usually because they hear about incidents like this one and assume it will happen 2 them

The problem is that jerks taunt them and whine when bitten.
hollywoodartchick 2 years ago
