Brother MFC-J835DW | Compact Inkjet Printer with Wireless Networking

I bought this printer two weeks ago, and I have it set up to my wireless network at home, downloaded the app to my iphone and that works well, the only thing that I am having trouble with it the scanning feature. when I push the scan button the 3 different icons show up, and at that point when I push any one of them I get the "check connection" warning. If I can do everything else wirelessly, why can I not access this feature? Any help would be appreciated.

To anyone interested,I bought this printer.Now I'm sure everyone likes a particular brand,so do I to a degree.This printer is awesome for the money.I looked at Canon,HP,and and Lexmark.It prints high quality on inkjet paper from the web at "blazing" speed in color.I have never seen a printer print so fast,1,2,3 and you have your print.Intuitive and easy to navigate.Oh yes,it does look very sleek and nice looking.I made the right decision getting this printer.
