I feel that he is a hero no matter what others say, he lived and died for Africa, he was murdered because they felt threatened by him "too dangerous to say alive" they said. He worked for a prosperous Congo while the leaders before and after him worked for a prosperous personal pocket. He had every right to make this speech, the speech of King Baudouin was condescending and praised his great-uncle king Leopold who personally owned the Congo who cut off peoples hands for fun. He died the Congo.
We live in a republic. A society supposedly led by law. Our justice system has been turned into a mockery by judges who are appointed that determine rulings with opinions rather than precedence. Communism is bad. Communist leaders are dictators who rule with iron fists. Democracy is closer to communism than to a republic. Che Guevara was Castor's hit-man. He was a murdering dog. Stop buying into an easy road to riches. Stop feeling everyone's unfair to you. Look up the history of lumumba!
Freedom doesn't come from a deceiving scumbag like lumuba. He was a communist pig just like Stalin who claimed democracy for the people and turned around with his petty annoyances to rule supreme OVER the people who were at peace to bring in a rain of bombs and gunfire to murder "the people" when he whined to the UN that he wasn't able to crush their spirits without thier help. To make him a saint is to idolize Stalin, Hitler, and mao. WE do NOT live in a democracy!
When I hear Lumumba's speeches I see a young, energetic, and optimtistic man who had all the faith in the world for the birth and bloom of his young and old continent. Only to be stomped down, murdered, and scattered by powerful foreign entities overzealously competing for world domination. Africa has faced perils in the 1960s, finding independance during the impossible cold war era, but that time is over. Africa is ready for more young Patrick Lumumbas and Kwame Nkrumahs. Find them.
@r0c87 you are spewing filthy lies as though you know anything about him. He was an impatient little spoiled brat who wanted to rule over anyone he could dominate. What is wrong with this picture? When you revolt for communism the regime will turn on you after they have taken power and kill their followers. Only the select few will remain and that won't be you. These are bad people. with bad motives and bad hearts spewing utopic ideals that cannot exist in the real world.
@r0c87 A book propagated by the UN? watch The untold story of UN Betrayal (Katanga)
and tell me this isn't at least bringing questions to you that make you think.
It is the stories that are hardest to find and document that are probably the most relevant. Communism brings brutal violence not peace. Watch the people in the background. They tell the true story. Are they happy and freely moving about or tense, controlled or absent all together? The public tell the real story.

@jimprjayp Any book about the history of Africa or Patrice Lumumba. Because you clearly don't know what youre talking about I'm not going to be debating with you.
@r0c87 Don't want a debate. Patrice Lumumba was a communist. If you disagree with that you're lying. Communism rules with an iron fist, that's their motto/logo. They kill those that don't agree with them. There is no room for debate. Yes, the whites dominated the blacks in all countries not just Africa. But communism is the domination of blacks and whites by blacks and whites through tyranny.
@jimprjayp You clearly want a debate. Patrice Lumumba said himself that he was not a communist, and he was never kept alive long enough for you to say anything different. He believed in democracy because the democratic system is what caused the majority of the population to vote him in as president in the first place, despite him being a political prisoner at the time. Western powers were the ones that challenged the Congolese democracy, if you have a problem, call them.
@r0c87 Democracy is a form of communism. The American people voted for Barack Obama too but after they figured out what his form of Democracy is many are sorry they did so. It was the UN who helped him with the US as the primary power source and Russia as his best advocate in the UN. Killing doesn't happen when the people are happy. Military force isn't required when the people are happy. His actions tell true picture. Why did he appeal to the UN for help controlling his people?
@jimprjayp You don't know what you're talking about. I'm not going to entertain a debate, as someone who reads many books on the topics I discuss, with someone who clearly doesn't. Peace.
@r0c87 amazingly it seems I'm the only one in this non-debate who has said anything of real substance. You just keep saying read a book. I read. books, newspapers, magazines, periodicals, etc. I have made claims and your only refute is to say "Nghah, you don't know!" Wow some learned scholar you are. Peace without might to you as well.

@jimprjayp I'm stressing you to use resources that are available to you in order to be competent in the topic you are discussing. Other than your personal opinion, you have nothing to offer to this discussion.

@jimprjayp Are you a white person may I ask? If you are you do realize you come from a western white perspective and worldview? Why would it be inconceivable that African people can do and come from our own perspective and worldview. When it comes to government economics education and etc. We determine this from our experiences history and culture. Why must we follow those things I mention from western white civilization paradigm. Especially when its been our enemies and oppressors.
@arronnov white ? you know not all of african population and indigenous blacks ? , Patrice was an ally to Gamal abdel Nasser , which is an Egyptian president ,
@arronnov actually Egyptien were never black , in all it history , an i said that based on there facial structure , Berbers , north africa indigenous population is not black , only sub Sahara have indigenous black population ( black africa ), we got here some blond girls and Eurpean looking poeple, that's the genetic left overs of both invasions and slavery what i want to point at it has nothing to do with white nor black , it has to do with Africans and their oppressors (USA , France , UK .)
@saddemgargouri No actually the Ancient Egyptian where a African indigenous people who origins are in the heart of Southern central Africa. It goes along with the flow of the Nile river which flows from its highest point at Mt. Kilimanjaro and ends at its lowest point at the Nile Delta. The people in central Africa aren't going to be mistaken as Arabs or whites.
@saddemgargouri I talking about where the Ancient Egyptian wrote where they originate from in Africa. It wasn't in North Africa. You know Southern Central Africa where white man seem to believe and the majority of man accept that the first man originate.
@saddemgargouri You do know that the Nile river is the only one that flows for the South to the North. The reason is explained in my last comment. The ancient Egyptian not modern fakes where not invaded and finally ended by Indigenous Africans. They where done in by a constant invasion by outsiders of Africa. The Greeks Romans Persians Arabs and etc.
@arronnov why don't you go and search for the world Berbers online ? , i invite you to go and visit algeria or Morocco , there is still some berbers who don't speak Arabic ,
@arronnov conspiracy theories ? anyway , even current ( white ) north africa population , supported pan African movements , Example Egyptien president Gamal abdel Nasser ,
@saddemgargouri Its a conspiracy that the ancient Egyptian not the modern so-called Egyptian wrote that they came from the beginning of the Nile or its a conspiracy that the Nile river flows from the South at its highest point to its lowest point in the Egyptian Delta.
If you can't speak the language of your enemy you will parish in the confusion of his mental war on you (Haleluja, here's my other cheek), you will parish on his biological war on you (AIDS etc.), you will parish by his chemical war on you (AZT and such), you will parish by his economical war on you (all of the above), you will parish with them making money on all of the above and for what?!? We don need the stem of which their branch stems from don't need m. They will perish without our genes.
As our fellow African Brother who freed the Libyans from Italian rule Omar Mukhtar said "'We will never surrender, we win or we die. You will have the next generation to fight and the next, and the next. As for me I will live longer than my hangman''
Well we Congolese will do the same Thank you Patrice Lumumba
WE ARE AFRICANS, WE DON;T HAVE ANY OPTION ANY FREEDOM. WHETHER WE SHOULD BE SUBORDINATES,FOLLOWERS, OR WE WILL BE KILLED BY OTHERS.
WE SEE THAT MOST OF AFFRICANS EFFECTIVE LEADERS, HAD BEEN ASSASSINATED OR CREATED CONFLICT BETWEEN BROTHERS THAT LEADING TO KILL EACH OTHERS. THEY SUPPORT THE ONE THAT SERVE THEIR AGENDA NOT THE ONE THAT SERVE AFRICAN PEOPLE.
One of the most honorable persons that ever lived!
One of my heroes!
Wake up Africa!
Take charge!
The Democratic Republic of Congo is the richest country on the planet in natural resources and people live like shit, mostly!
You have everything, but everytime you start something good, there is always a civil war or a political assasination or or or....something else is keeping you down.
"la patrie ou la mort, nous vaincrons" Thomas Sankara of Burkina Faso.European Nationalism swiping Europe,North America,South America, why not us as an African People?
Patrice, mon Héro, ton Congo n'est plus ce que tu avais laissé. En 1960 nous étions matés par les belges, aujourd'hui nous sommes ridiculisés par les rwandais. As-tu bien entendu? Les petits rwandais, ces maigrichons.. Quelle honte! Même Mobutu doit se moquer de nous!
With it, Patrice signed his death sentence. The king of Belgium and the Congolese establishment were not just "a bit uncomfortable", when the hour arrived and their shameless lies and schemes were unmasked, and pierced by truth. In front of the eyes and ears of the entire world !
The top criminals who must be charged with: Over through of Lumumba’s legitimate government; Looting the Congo; Torturing Patrice Lumumba with Maurice Mpolo and Joseph Okito; and Brutal killings are: President Eisenhower of the USA; King Baudouin of Belgium; King Leopold II of Belgium; Joseph Mobutu; and Moïse Tshombe. They must face justice and pay for their crimes even if they are dead. I am sure they are now paying in hell.

Today, here is Canada nothing is said. Our quiet calm country, has it too good it seems, to really remind us what we have. Thank you to PRI (Public Radio International USA Govenment) for reminding the public in yesterdays radio broadcast. Every country, like all people, have their own personalities. Anything goes as long as one thing is perfectly clear.... you know you will never be caught!
No one talks about the ninth and missionaries who went out of humanity to Congo to build schools and hospitals. These people had risked their own lives to fight against slavery action. What had made Lumumba? Only demagoguery and lies? He lived in the nice house that was built by the Belgians. He had not even own house. You are also one of the fools who thinks of Lumumba
i am kenyan why dont we revive old ancient egypt asuper power..i am gonna be the next kenyan president and my roots and bloodline are deep in the ancient egyptian and nubian civilization..if you want to know of how great we are look at the pyramids of gizeh..rememmber ramesis,tutmosis..kemet..maat..we need to rise up..this pyramids were build 5000years ago..we are so mighy i wish we discovered it..join me if you feel we can achieve this dream i am an engineering kid in college.
Wow! I'm overwhelmed by the responses. I did not post this video to arouse feelings of revenge against the West: I want more than the wars of our fathers. I want to inspire an army of young African leaders to grab hold of the ideals of our founding fathers and to transform Africa into the shinning beacon it once was. I know that it is possible with discipline, work and love for ourselves.
Seems Lumumba made a very poor to suicidal career move when Soviet advisors started to arrive by the plane load ala Cuba. Anyone who thinks the USG, the CIA or anyone in the west didn't see some ultierior motives behind this sudden friendship with our mortal idealogical enemy is willing to turn a blind eye to this action. Lumumba may have freed the Congo, but a quick look a Cuba tells the story of what that freedom eventually extraxts.
@auther1046 What the hell are you talking about. Lumumba was trying to get help from the lesser of two evils in his opinion. His land and people had been destroyed by the evil of western civilization the past 70 as well the rest of Africa the past 600yrs. Whether its so-called democracy or communism the western white man wants to control black people. He wanted self determination self consciousness and self reliance for Africa. That's something the west doesn't every want to happen.
@arronnov "His land & ppl had been destroyed by the evil of western civilization the past 70 as well the rest of Africa the past 600yrs"
There are well kept records that identify 'Black Slave Traders' who rounded up their fellow African's to be sold at a profit to 'White Slave Traders' who took those people to work in the cotton feilds of the Southern America Slave States in the 1800's & before. The advent of the 'Cotton Gin' (Eli Whitney/Northerner's Invention) made slavery profitible.
Dear friend, I understand what u r saying. Whose records are those? Whites or Africans? U r not aware of hundreds of entire villages that were left with no single able person. Tribes were given weapons to capture other tribes or face limbs amputation, torture and certain death; they weren't given any choice. Do u know why certain african groups of people had to deform their heads? Or why some used strange & ugly-looking tatous?Do a little more research, U'll see! Slavery is still going on!
@Matata4onlyU So IOW's "Tribes were given weapons" (spears?) "to capture other tribes or face limbs amputation, torture & certain death" (by modern arms) I find that hard to believe, "they weren't given any choice" If they had weapons of course they had a choice.
"We must move forward, striking out tirelessly against imperialism. From all over the world we have to learn lessons which events afford. Lumumba’s murder should be a lesson for all of us”

* The Peoples' Friendship University of the USSR was renamed "Patrice Lumumba Peoples' Friendship University" after the USSR had tried turning the place into a chocolate faced puppets best allie when they invaded in 61.
You are short of history. Lumumba first asked and begged the US to help him free his country from Belgium colonial rule. He was rejected & despised by Eisenhower. He turned to the UN and was rejected again. He later then asked the Soviets for help. The presence of Cuba had absolutely nothing to do with his assassination. Lumumba deplored communism & colonialism. Fact!! He helped strengthen the Non Aligned Movement in Africa. The west killed him for fear revenge against colonialism.
@forevah "You are short of history. Lumumba 1st asked & begged the US to help him free his country from Belgium colonial rule"
What were his conditions? If it was a set up, or sure to fail deal, I'm sure the US would of rejected it.
"The presence of Cuba had absolutely nothing to do with his assassination. Lumumba deplored communism"
What was a Communist State like Cuba doing sending in troops then, the two don't follow. This is what happens when a assassination is politicised into oblivion
I take it you don't know the history of Congo and much about the cold war in Africa btw the US and the USSR. You are asking the wrong questions. The US & Belgium were allies, Lumumba's Congo wasn't. Congo was trying to free itself from Belgium. He was very explicit in his speech and he constantly embarrassed the Belgium authorities for refusing to fully decolonize. Cuba never sent troops to aid Lumumba in Congo. Never. It was the UN troops that failed to protect Lumumba.
@forevah P2 Although the trouble was highly localized, the country seemed to be overrun by gangs of soldiers and looters, causing a media sensation, particularly over Europeans fleeing the country.
The province of Katanga declared independence under regional premier Moïse Tshombe on 11 July 1960 with support from the Belgian government and mining companies such as Union Minière. Despite the arrival of UN troops, unrest continued. Since the United Nations refused to help suppress
I am wondering where you got Cuba sending troops to Congo to help Lumumba? Lumumba was long dead for a couple of years before Che Guevara went to Congo with a small unit of Cuban soldiers to remove the puppet dictator Mobutu who was heavily backed by the US. The whole world erupted when it learned of Lumumba's assassination. There was heavy protests in Africa, London, Belgium, South America, Asia, UN etc. It damaged the US/Belgium image in Africa up on till today.
@forevah P1 'Congo Crisis' : A few days after Congo gained its independence, Lumumba made the fateful decision to raise the pay of all government employees except for the army. Many units of the army also had strong objections toward the uniformly Belgian officers; General Janssens, the army head, told them their lot would not change after independence, and they rebelled in protest. The rebellions quickly spread throughout the country, leading to a general breakdown in law and order.
It will be wise to at least cite Wikipedia. You need to finish the rest of the story. You stopped short of how the US got involved to pursue their failed agenda against communism. Please continue and paste it all so that everyone will see it. I can tell you Congo's history without even looking at Wikipedia. I will tell things Wikipedia even omitted that you can confirm in Libraries across the US. So finish the story on how Eisenhower ordered Lumumba's assassination.
@forevah "how the US got involved to pursue their failed agenda against communism"
Is that right? The last time I checked the US had won the Cold War against the former Soviet Union which had disolved into seperate states similar to the US.
"finish the story"
The Belgian Commission found that the execution was carried out by Katanga's authorities, but de Witte found written orders from the Belgian gov. requesting Lumumba's murder & documents on various arrangements, such as death squads.
I see a lot of "mentioned", "There is much speculation", "U.S. Pres. DDE had said "something [to CIA chief Allen Dulles] to the effect that Lumumba should be eliminated", "which may have come on orders from U.S. Pres. DDE"
I think Ike was smart enugh not to leave any trail of complicity in this affair so it's uncertain what role he played. Agreed?
"Is that right? The last time I checked the US had won the Cold War against the former Soviet Union which had disolved into seperate states similar to the US."
I specifically have been repeating communism. The last time I checked, the US lost the war against Vietnam. Type it and spin it however you want. Outside the US, the world has it marked on their calender the US was defeated in Vietnam. That war stopped the US immoral crusade against communism in smaller countries.
Lumumba's legacy is all over the world. Just like Martin Luther King Jr.There are several streets in Europe and in the world named after him. What killed the immoral crusade against communism by the US was Vietnam. The US people regained their senses and thwarted their govt's stupid war.
As I recall we dropped more bombs in that conflict than in WW2 What TF are you talking about? JFK wanted that war and LBJ unwisely chose to finish it for him .... "To win it for JFK" !
@JgarfbiHoover P3 the rebellion in Katanga, Lumumba sought Soviet aid in the form of arms, food, medical supplies, trucks, and planes to help move troops to Katanga. Lumumba's decisive actions alarmed his colleagues and President Kasa-Vubu, who preferred a more moderate political approach .... The USSR denounced Hammarskjöld and the Western powers as responsible for Lumumba's arrest and demanded his release
The US was using the same excuse of communism to kill democratic elected leaders around the world e.g Overthrow of Premier Mossadeq of Iran, assassination of Lumumba, etc. That excuse of communism failed in Vietnam. State facts and stop forming theories.
@expocongodotcom : Listen, ignore the hatred, you did something really good posting this...Thank you so much, CONGO WILL BE FREE ONE DAY ONE DAY and if I am no longer alive by then, I will still smile from up above. BLESS THE MEMORY OF PATRICE EMERY LUMUMBA!!!! Love TATA nzambe!
@expocongodotcom There will be negative feelings against the west but more so against the ways of Capitalism and Imperialism. They are the true enemy of true democracy.
it's strange how so many so-called followers of leaders like Lumumba just spew racist garbage or total nonsense. do you LISTEN to anything the man is saying? he is preaching self-pride and unity not racism and vengeance. there seems to be a glut of self-styled "revolutionaries" calling for a "militant" order. if there is violence and hate in your heart then you have nothing in common with Lumumba, Sankara, Mandela or such true men.
@dojothecat..this is how the white race rose to power..by fooling the black race.. if somebody hit you no response but for them its bless the lord and pass the ammunition...we have to adhere to our own ideology which is already in us..not socialism or capitalism its mutualism..i am akenyan engineer..we have been crippled by asystematic chain of events instigated by other ppl other than africans.coups plotted by the western inteligence services.here me we have to have ours.
What is bad in this speech, he said true!!! why USA, BELGUIM and FRANCE found it like he abused their mothers et fathers ??
Tout se paie ici bas, ils se croyaient indetronnable et voilà la chine les a pris en etau, toute leurs economies se fondent, malgrès tout ce qu'ils ont volé, voulu ou pas l'afrique tiens toi bon ta delivrance est proche.
look carefully every smart innovative son of nubia trying to lead nubia away from its problems is murdered mysteriously cammon look around..from lummumba to luther king, malcolm x,garvey, bob marley, salessie we need to act swiftly..the tide needs to be stemmed..i am kenyan of ancient egyptian descent we need to rise once more and create asuper power..i am ready and i have a militant order already.knights of amun..pls join me anybody who thinks of our prestige as ppl lets evict the enemy its now
In response to everyone who has spoken of the white devils and evil Europeans, let us acknowledge and remember what Patrice Lumumba said, "We are going to succeed in suppressing all discrimination- no matter what it may be- and give to each individual the just place to which his human dignity, his work, and his devotion to his country entitle him. Past injustices do not allow for current ones, and no prejudices are just.
@thopki4 No one talks about the ninth and missionaries who went out of humanity to Congo to build schools and hospitals. These people had risked their own lives to fight against slavery action. It behooves us all to call upon THE NAME OF THE MOST HIGH YHWH for our deliverance, for vengeance is HIS. My hatred toward european bastards and their descendants is so immense that it is impossible for Me to bear. The spiraling down of the Congo into the abyss of "Black on Black violence" stems from these "house negroes-mobutus" who sold their souls to satan via his european agents. RIP Brother Patrice Lumumba, Steven Biko et al. Be Blessed, Peace & Shalom in YAHOSHUA HA MASHIACH!
The death of Lamumba was the greatst tragedy and loss to Conglese people and African people in general. The event which took place in Congo during this period reflects the situation of current Africa. The Heroic leaders are jailed or killed while agents are kept in power so that foreign nations can use Africa as a source of cheap raw materials, and mineral resources. That is why Africa makes no progress at all, simply it is ruled by agents whose job is to keep Africa undeveloped and oppresed.
a quand la revolte de lhomme noir mais merde a ton nous un cerveau ou bien et ce con qui faisait avaler a lumunba du citron et fier de s"exposer devant la tele belge un vrai con
I find Baudouin to be as odious as his great uncle Leopold. At least the latter could have the excuse that he was born in the 19th century and was narrow minded, monolithic, monochrome and stupified by his greed for wealth.
In 1960 Baudouin ought to have known better. He went on praising Leopold's humanitarian work till the end of his miserable life.
The Congolese people should never forget what they suffered because of the Belgian monarchs' greed.
Obviously it must have been during the delivery of this speech that the dronish monarch of Belgium decided that this great African ought to be assassinated.
The Belgian royal drones never expressed any regrets for the butchery that went on at Congo. After all Congo was their own private colony before it was taken over by Belgium after Leopold's death.
It was then that they decided his fate, have you seen the documentery, the assasination of Patrice Lumumba? They seem so proud of themselves that they murdered this great man and continued to kill the country (and the continent) to this day.
Indeed, it is really disgusting! Someone was even showing the teeth he collected as a trophy. What kind of man can do something like this? Imagine showing off the teeth of an assassinated US President or UK Primeminister. Many would be quick to take offence.
Belgium, the UN and Cia were behind Lumumba killing.Being bright is bad to those who want to exploit Africa. Now we understand why the Congo war will never end.African brothers, let stand behind our Mother land. What will the west stay behind God after all the atrocities they have committed.Viva Africa Viva!!!!!! RIP Lumumba son of Africa.
And I did not read anything Marxist at all.. Just the truth and realities. I think if Jews and the Japanese were mistreated earlier than 1960 and were compensated, such attrocities all over Africa have to compensated too. I know apologies were furnished a few years ago to the DRC govt over Lumumba's assassination but empty apologies arent enough while others are given capacities in monetary and technological terms to progress.
@intrepeco belgium only apologised in 2002 about what they did to the congo, the CIA and belgian secret service agents talked about how they killed Lumumba with such an arrogance!Belgian agent colonel malliere even showed lumumba's tooth he kept as souvenir, joking about it!
Patrice Lumumba was a great leader amongst our Congolese people and family, because Lumumba was about defeating all these vile not only in the Congo, but Mother Africa as a whole.
Stupid Mobutu etc; were so ignorantly clueless while Lumumba was about bringing Africans together with his thoughts and heart.
@peasah2005 Hello my friend! Judging from your comment I find that you are definately a good hearted person. (Provided that you spoke from the heart). I would like to propose a wish from you. A wish that is not only noble, but has great significance of the term "SOCIAL REPSONSIBILITY". SAVE THE WHITE MAN---KILL WHITE SUPREMACY!! And that also go for the same in any other race on earth that believes in servile tactics that threatens the foundation of the human race.
No need for insults ,I only state facts I have been to the Congo, know many whites and blacks who lived during the colonial period. The blacks did suffer but at least they had food and education till sixth grade. Today they are lucky to get either. So who is stupid , not me I don't live in that hellhole. I feel sorrow for your hatred , I guess you need Paracommandoes Belge to help straighten out your country again.Bon chance
So you feel it was okay back then, when the congolese had education till sixh grade? Or to have only 4 Congolese with a Bachelor Degree before independence, when in Europe, there were millions of Europeans who had a Bachelor?
I don't have any hatred toward you, rather I feel you are a dumbass white man racist who keep blaming 100% the suffering of Africans on Africans, without talking about the root cause which was the fraud Loans of IMF, World Bank and CIA's wars on Africa.
You were a witness of the horrors of the white man elite, in Congo, in 60's. Correct?
As a white man that you are, I would expect you to repent for what your white ancestors did or at least have a remorse.
I would expect you to repent, in spreading the real truth of of the history of Congo, rather you are spreading the white man's lies about Africa in blaming Africans for Africa misery, even thouth CIA/World Bank were and still are running Africa remotely.
Remember we don't live in 60's anymore, the history of white man/CIA in Congo is at our fingertips now, through the internet.
You only make yourself look stupid, spreading your lies because you don't have any excuse anymore.
If I were you, for a little time, you still have on this earth, I could educate your fellow white men, about what the white elite did in the Third World, in your name, and that's what should matter most to you, that's your redemption of your soul..
@eduardalet What would be nice to see is all my beautiful black sisters through out the world stepping on your stomach and popping out your eyes and stepping on them too!!! Now that would be a sight to see---Don't you agree?
This video and the song bring back a lot of memories about Africa and in particuliar Congo and the good people of Congo. The Congolese were special people and a every energetic people.
My only hope is that after the genocide they went through, they would still keep their unique energetic spirit which produced the best minds and best musicians ever in all of Africa to say the least!
Although Colonialism was just like Jim Crow or Apartheid, it was a necessary evil. Malgres q la colonisation etait comme Jim Crow ou Apartheid, c'etait un mal neccessaire
@exm5fe03 evil is never necessary when dealing in humanism. The term or word you're looking for or referring to is "strict encouragement" to make life better for all the people black or white. The term evil is definately the opposite of humanism--thereby making evil very un-necessary! Unless your a demon and enjoy hellish exsistences. if that latter is correct, then to each his own--You'll Certainly Be Defeated.
le discour de Papa Lumumba doit-etre lu partout sur notre térritoire nationale a l'occasion de 50 ans d'anniversaire de notre indépendance, et a la rentré scolaire 2010 dans toute les école nationale et privée. Votre Patriote DIDIER MERBON MPIANA.
Look for blame in Monsiuer Mobutu he received hundreds of millions for his people but decided to spend it on shopping trips to Paris, I know that because my father was in charge of the airport in the Congo so maybe we can say guilt lies between both the european governments who knew he was stealing the money from his people and that created a disaster which is very difficult to recover from.
A beautiful song, it reminds me of the happines of the Congolese people.Lumumba being disrespectful to his royal highness , was on a train ride to disaster , that is where they remain today , with a little more patience and education they could have become the Switzerland of Africa. I lived there 5 years from 1969-1973 a relatively quiet period we the foreigners were trying with herculean force trying to educate the Congolese but that doesn't happen overnight. You need a miracle!
He certainly said all the right things. He sounds almost like an Obama of his day.
But the situation the Congo was then thrown into was terrible, and in the decades since it has become even worse. In the case the colonial power was asolutely to blame!
Belgium was incredibly irresponsible and inhumane in its treatment of the Congo! It is a shame to all europe.
For anyone who is interested in doing something to help this then please message me and I will tell you about the global campaign that is being set up which if successful will save over 100,000 children in the Congo
Belgium, USA and France will pay one the price of the blood of this Great Man the world has ever seen. He enters the wall of fame together with Martin Luther King, Malcomx, Ghandi, Thomas Sankara, Kwame Nkrouma,
please dont put gandhi in the same context as the other great men you just mentioned. Gandhi saw africans as less as humans and he never fought fpr our rights in South Africa
@zizousayed@zizousayed i am wondering what source you have for this statement about Gandhi. i am not rebutting it but rather interested in learning more to find out the truth. i have seen claims that Gandhi saw Africans as the same as "untouchables" in India but in fact Gandhi abhorred the caste system and said "the notion of untouchability pollutes Hinduism the way a drop of arsenic pollutes a vat of milk."
ther murderers who killed this great man are still alive and rich they are still living people why and who´s fault it is well look in da mirror and you´l know inform yourself about history and you´l know how to act in the future inform yourself bout lumumba, malcolm x, martin luther king jr., fred hampton, black panther party read about ther ideas and real freedom we arent free black, white whatever colour we are all slaves wake up they are killing our prophets the peoples prophets
@behinddacurtain Very good comment. I knows this reply is a little late 1year late to be exact. However please allow me to imform you that the people who are responsible for Lumumba's death are already dead!! They were dead long before the evil act was even commited. Lumumba gave his life for True Justice and True humanity. He was alive before the crime during the crime and he'll always remain alive as long as there are good people black ,white or otherwise continue to fight injustices!!!
Lumumba killers were cia and the forces of the illuminati and they are still killing millions of people from Iraq to somalia and so on. They are not dead!

Find them.
r0c87 8 months ago
@r0c87 you are spewing filthy lies as though you know anything about him. He was an impatient little spoiled brat who wanted to rule over anyone he could dominate. What is wrong with this picture? When you revolt for communism the regime will turn on you after they have taken power and kill their followers. Only the select few will remain and that won't be you. These are bad people. with bad motives and bad hearts spewing utopic ideals that cannot exist in the real world.

@jimprjayp Any book about the history of Africa or Patrice Lumumba. Because you clearly don't know what youre talking about I'm not going to be debating with you.
r0c87 4 months ago
@r0c87 Don't want a debate. Patrice Lumumba was a communist. If you disagree with that you're lying. Communism rules with an iron fist, that's their motto/logo. They kill those that don't agree with them. There is no room for debate. Yes, the whites dominated the blacks in all countries not just Africa. But communism is the domination of blacks and whites by blacks and whites through tyranny.
jimprjayp 4 months ago
@jimprjayp You clearly want a debate. Patrice Lumumba said himself that he was not a communist, and he was never kept alive long enough for you to say anything different. He believed in democracy because the democratic system is what caused the majority of the population to vote him in as president in the first place, despite him being a political prisoner at the time. Western powers were the ones that challenged the Congolese democracy, if you have a problem, call them.
r0c87 4 months ago
@r0c87 Democracy is a form of communism. The American people voted for Barack Obama too but after they figured out what his form of Democracy is many are sorry they did so. It was the UN who helped him with the US as the primary power source and Russia as his best advocate in the UN. Killing doesn't happen when the people are happy. Military force isn't required when the people are happy. His actions tell true picture. Why did he appeal to the UN for help controlling his people?

Why would it be inconceivable that African people can do and come from our own perspective and worldview. When it comes to government economics education and etc. We determine this from our experiences history and culture. Why must we follow those things I mention from western white civilization paradigm. Especially when its been our enemies and oppressors.

@arronnov white ? you know not all of african population and indigenous blacks ? , Patrice was an ally to Gamal abdel Nasser , which is an Egyptian president ,
saddemgargouri 1 month ago
@saddemgargouri Yes I know that Egypt has been invaded for the past 2000 yrs pushing out the indigenous people to that land for the most part.
arronnov 1 month ago
@arronnov actually Egyptien were never black , in all it history , an i said that based on there facial structure , Berbers , north africa indigenous population is not black , only sub Sahara have indigenous black population ( black africa ), we got here some blond girls and Eurpean looking poeple, that's the genetic left overs of both invasions and slavery what i want to point at it has nothing to do with white nor black , it has to do with Africans and their oppressors (USA , France , UK .)
saddemgargouri 1 month ago
@saddemgargouri No actually the Ancient Egyptian where a African indigenous people who origins are in the heart of Southern central Africa. It goes along with the flow of the Nile river which flows from its highest point at Mt. Kilimanjaro and ends at its lowest point at the Nile Delta. The people in central Africa aren't going to be mistaken as Arabs or whites.
arronnov 1 month ago
@arronnov The people in central africa ? man i am talking about north africa ,
saddemgargouri 1 month ago
@saddemgargouri I talking about where the Ancient Egyptian wrote where they originate from in Africa. It wasn't in North Africa. You know Southern Central Africa where white man seem to believe and the majority of man accept that the first man originate.
arronnov 1 month ago
@saddemgargouri You do know that the Nile river is the only one that flows for the South to the North. The reason is explained in my last comment. The ancient Egyptian not modern fakes where not invaded and finally ended by Indigenous Africans. They where done in by a constant invasion by outsiders of Africa. The Greeks Romans Persians Arabs and etc.
arronnov 1 month ago
@arronnov why don't you go and search for the world Berbers online ? , i invite you to go and visit algeria or Morocco , there is still some berbers who don't speak Arabic ,

@arronnov conspiracy theories ? anyway , even current ( white ) north africa population , supported pan African movements , Example Egyptien president Gamal abdel Nasser ,
saddemgargouri 1 month ago
@saddemgargouri Its a conspiracy that the ancient Egyptian not the modern so-called Egyptian wrote that they came from the beginning of the Nile or its a conspiracy that the Nile river flows from the South at its highest point to its lowest point in the Egyptian Delta.

Lumumba may have freed the Congo, but a quick look a Cuba tells the story of what that freedom eventually extraxts.
auther1046 1 year ago
@auther1046 What the hell are you talking about. Lumumba was trying to get help from the lesser of two evils in his opinion. His land and people had been destroyed by the evil of western civilization the past 70 as well the rest of Africa the past 600yrs. Whether its so-called democracy or communism the western white man wants to control black people. He wanted self determination self consciousness and self reliance for Africa. That's something the west doesn't every want to happen.
arronnov 1 year ago

JgarfbiHoover 1 year ago
@JgarfbiHoover
Never. It was the UN troops that failed to protect Lumumba.
forevah 1 year ago
@forevah P2 Although the trouble was highly localized, the country seemed to be overrun by gangs of soldiers and looters, causing a media sensation, particularly over Europeans fleeing the country.
The province of Katanga declared independence under regional premier Moïse Tshombe on 11 July 1960 with support from the Belgian government and mining companies such as Union Minière. Despite the arrival of UN troops, unrest continued. Since the United Nations refused to help suppress
JgarfbiHoover 1 year ago
@JgarfbiHoover
It damaged the US/Belgium image in Africa up on till today.
forevah 1 year ago
@forevah P1 'Congo Crisis' : A few days after Congo gained its independence, Lumumba made the fateful decision to raise the pay of all government employees except for the army. Many units of the army also had strong objections toward the uniformly Belgian officers; General Janssens, the army head, told them their lot would not change after independence, and they rebelled in protest. The rebellions quickly spread throughout the country, leading to a general breakdown in law and order.

@JgarfbiHoover
So finish the story on how Eisenhower ordered Lumumba's assassination.
forevah 1 year ago
@forevah "how the US got involved to pursue their failed agenda against communism"
Is that right? The last time I checked the US had won the Cold War against the former Soviet Union which had disolved into seperate states similar to the US.
"finish the story"
The Belgian Commission found that the execution was carried out by Katanga's authorities, but de Witte found written orders from the Belgian gov. requesting Lumumba's murder & documents on various arrangements, such as death squads.

@forevah "So finish the story"

State facts and stop forming theories.

it's strange how so many so-called followers of leaders like Lumumba just spew racist garbage or total nonsense. do you LISTEN to anything the man is saying? he is preaching self-pride and unity not racism and vengeance. there seems to be a glut of self-styled "revolutionaries" calling for a "militant" order. if there is violence and hate in your heart then you have nothing in common with Lumumba, Sankara, Mandela or such true men.

It is so sad and pity, that he lives no more on this earth.
But I believe, that his spirit and hope live also now in the hearts of numerous men, women and children.
We must pay efforts to fulfill his great vision of the freedom of Congo, independent of our own race or nationality.
The whole world must keep the words of this great african, LUMUMBA, for ever in memory.

What had made Lumumba? Only demagoguery and lies? He lived in the nice house that was built by the Belgians. He had not even own house. You are also one of the fools who thinks of Lumumba

The Congolese people should never forget what they suffered because of the Belgian monarchs' greed.
euridike88 1 year ago 2
Obviously it must have been during the delivery of this speech that the dronish monarch of Belgium decided that this great African ought to be assassinated.
The Belgian royal drones never expressed any regrets for the butchery that went on at Congo. After all Congo was their own private colony before it was taken over by Belgium after Leopold's death.
dagmar1991 1 year ago 3
It was then that they decided his fate, have you seen the documentery, the assasination of Patrice Lumumba? They seem so proud of themselves that they murdered this great man and continued to kill the country (and the continent) to this day.
Makes me sick.

Indeed, it is really disgusting! Someone was even showing the teeth he collected as a trophy. What kind of man can do something like this? Imagine showing off the teeth of an assassinated US President or UK Primeminister. Many would be quick to take offence.

I would expect you to repent, in spreading the real truth of of the history of Congo, rather you are spreading the white man's lies about Africa in blaming Africans for Africa misery, even thouth CIA/World Bank were and still are running Africa remotely.
edrubangura 2 years ago

Remember we don't live in 60's anymore, the history of white man/CIA in Congo is at our fingertips now, through the internet.
You only make yourself look stupid, spreading your lies because you don't have any excuse anymore.
If I were you, for a little time, you still have on this earth, I could educate your fellow white men, about what the white elite did in the Third World, in your name, and that's what should matter most to you, that's your redemption of your soul..

But the situation the Congo was then thrown into was terrible, and in the decades since it has become even worse. In the case the colonial power was asolutely to blame!

The fact that a great man like Lumumba had his life cut short is yet another of the many examples of the things that have gone wrong in the Congo
As I type this people are dying as a result of the left overs a war that was the deadliest since WW2
Since the war was declared over in 2001 nearly 6 million people have died and people are still dying at a rate of over 45,000 a week

C'est inutile de demander quoi que ce soit à la Belgique, USA, France.... et aux impérialistes génocidaires en général.
