its a pain in the ass when you have to tap the puller bolt holes, i wondre why they don't do it fcrom the fatory?

@ismokewead420 That's why I have always used a pry bar, and air hammer. I doubt that they don't have time to tap two holes for 5/16 bolts!

Personally, I just use the proper flywheel puller which threads into the small holes in the top of the flywheel. Takes just a few minutes, with minimal risk of damage. I cannot even estimate how many aluminum flywheels I had to replace, because customers used prybars and screwdrivers. Helpful hint: after the flywheel and key are both out, scrape off any burrs off the flywheel key edges, especially if the key was previously sheared.

@ClassicRestoration07 Obviously a flywheel puller would be the best tool to use but I have never caused any damage with a pry bar, and dead blow mallet. Most of the time they come loose after two or three well placed hits.

i dont use any of those methods, i heat the flywheel up with a blow torch, get a block of wood and tap the flywheel at four points around the edge until it comes off, failing that heat it up a few time and let it cool down normally it will just lift off with your hand with heat on it

@MO3MINI Using a blow torch to heat the flywheel isn't so bad if you know what your doing. Personally I would not trust myself enough to do that.

An air hammer is what I use unless i'm working on a string trimmer, leaf blower or chainsaw. In those cases I use the rubber mallet, and pry bar. Obviously my video does not cover all of the possible methods.
