Poland has only about 1000 kilometers of highways and it is one of the biggest country in Europe!!! After the II WW they simply have focused on building housings to provide shelters for all survived people instead of investing work in to the roadways system. So they don't have other choice but to use only available roads to travel for a hundreds of kilometers.

In any case I am pretty certain here that I have both hands on the wheel.

Cars overtaking one-another when there is 90 km/h speedlimit and driving 100km/h instead is NORMAL anywhere in EU. And IMO should not be condemned. Most of the drivers didn't endanger his/her or your life in this video. Although I would not cross the line to overtake, I would have most certanly overtaken YOU were I at that time in that place and had the conditions for good overtaking.
@kr0pp I have seen far worse - I saw far worse later that day with a car smashed up and ambulances all around. Driving 10% of the speed limit is normal - although some countries can punish this. And if you had overtaken me then you would have been breaking the law as I was going the legal maximum.

Driving fast and overtaking like this is totally unacceptable on any public roads. It is blind impatience and stupidity. Only Greece has more deaths on it's roads than Poland. Look it up. I am actually very happy that Polish Drivers are good enough to drive at that speed. If your driving from one side of Poland to the other, and Poland still largely doesn't have highways. You have to drive fast, otherwise you will never get there... Poland is a democracy, so if most people drive over the speed limit in places that it is safe to, then who is right. @alanheath I agree that even bad rules are better then no rules... The problem in Poland is that there are not highways so people had to adapt. To answer your question of course we do! But the maximum speed limit doesn't decide if a road is safe to drive on faster or not because its never higher then 90km. Its the shape of the road and the road conditions. So if parts of the road you can only drive 90km, there are parts that you can do 120km safely. (Because they are straight, wide ect.)
@ZawiszaYT That is a really good point. But I think the 90km limit is reduced before things such as zebra crossings etc. Part of the problem is that often people do not see why the speed limit is reduced. I think (and maybe I am wrong) that the Czarny Punkt warnings may help.
Nonetheless the standard of driving has improved markedly in the past ten years.
@alanheath It is reduced, usually to 70. Yes because the speed limit is reduced a lot of times without a reason (like they work on the road put up a 40 limit, but leave it because they forgot about it). Then when the speed limit is reduced because a real dangerous situation drivers don't pay special attention to it because it is over used.

Poland is difficult place to drive a car. We got terrible roads, cars and village drivers who doesnt got practise. I understand that you put this video to show a reason of car accidence, but when i reading posts i think many people doesnt get it. It's sad but polish drivers need expensive ticket and accidence to learn how to drive saffely. Reading plates of these cars is not good. As far as the roads are concerned the sytuation has recently changed for better and It's still changing(I recommend you going to ukraine and comparing the roads in both countries and You realise that our roads are better). Moreover our drivers are much betterskilled than for ex. italian, turkish or even spanish and our cars are as the same as in western europe(I haven't seen "maluch" for a long time)

I did a 1000 mile trip from the Midlands to Wroclaw and back again. I will say in the citys they seem to have no idea what they are doing but on the motorways I found them no different to some UK drivers. I saw 2 accidents on my trip and the worst was on the autobahn in Germany. The other was a minor rear end. I've driven in much worse places...try Ireland for drink drivers and deaths then tell me about Poland.

The attitude is changing and there is clearly much less of it. I have been breathalysed several times which I think is a good thing and I do not hear complaints. @alanheath I agree it's extremely normal to see multiple accidents in Poland on say a 300km trip. I believe at one point the road from Krakow to Zakopane was listed as the most dangerous road in the EU. I have driven it maybe 30/40 times and have always, and I mean ALWAYS seen an accident. One car overtook me and nearly ran me off the road. @km down the road I saw the car on it's roof on the other side of the road in a field! Trust me folks, this is normal!!!! Alan, one small comment about the a traffic law, which few people are aware of. The double line does not prohibit overtaking per se, so if there's enough room, you are free to do it. You simply mustn't cross the line.

I have just driven the road leading north from Radom - lovely new dual carriageway. Only one direction is closed and the amount of idiots driving on the left hand side of the road was really frightening.

i lived in MK fo 8 months, a was delivering and collecing different cars to customers, driving 10 hours a day... so alot of driving. I can shortly describe MK as... no traffic, milion roundabouts, maybe 6 traffic cameras, dual carriageways everywhere! very easy road system. main streets are V(certical with numbers ) and H(horizontal) 45 mins to London Euston by Virgin train, two junctions of M1 motorway, and speed limit of 70mph in the centre of MK:)!!!
easiest road system in the UK, main streets are V(vertical) and H(horizontal) with numbers, so you do not need to buy map if i tell you that for example F1 team Red Bull is between V10 and V11 by H10:) i might be wrong but this is only example, while you drive thru the city you feel like in the forest, houses are behind "green barrier" The best thing is start Google Earth and "fly" to MK to see famous grid system and lots of green places

Only an hour or so after this was filmed I saw a very nasty accident possibly caused by ignoring the right of Polish people to use the roads. Bad driving in Poland is almost exclusively the domain of young men who think they have the right to kill and maim other people whilst going fast and not respecting the right of others to life. This film is about the right to life for Poles because the victims of accidents are Poles.

I am actually very happy that Polish Drivers are good enough to drive at that speed. If your driving from one side of Poland to the other, and Poland still largely doesn't have highways. You have to drive fast, otherwise you will never get there... Poland is a democracy, so if most people drive over the speed limit in places that it is safe to, then who is right. The idiot bureaucrats that sit behind a desk all day and put up signs on a map? Or the good drivers that ride the roads?

On the skills of Polish drivers what you fail to address is that the death rate on Polish roads is still double the EU average. Do Poles have the right to live? @alanheath I agree that even bad rules are better then no rules... The problem in Poland is that there are not highways so people had to adapt. To answer your question of course we do! But the maximum speed limit doesn't decide if a road is safe to drive on faster or not because its never higher then 90km. Its the shape of the road and the road conditions. So if parts of the road you can only drive 90km, there are parts that you can do 120km safely. (Because they are straight, wide ect.)

@ZawiszaYT That is a really good point. But I think the 90km limit is reduced before things such as zebra crossings etc. Part of the problem is that often people do not see why the speed limit is reduced. I think (and maybe I am wrong) that the Czarny Punkt warnings may help.
Nonetheless the standard of driving has improved markedly in the past ten years.

@alanheath It is reduced, usually to 70. Yes because the speed limit is reduced a lot of times without a reason (like they work on the road put up a 40 limit, but leave it because they forgot about it). Then when the speed limit is reduced because a real dangerous situation drivers don't pay special attention to it because it is over used.

You must remember that most people don't use car to go just for a ride. They are going somewhere. Even if they speed is about 110 - 120 kph the most dangerous is your driving.
This is only few kilometers on road. In Poland there aren't many highways. Many roads leads throw villages where for even 20 kilometers max speed is 50 kph.

Poland is difficult place to drive a car. We got terrible roads, cars and village drivers who doesnt got practise. I understand that you put this video to show a reason of car accidence, but when i reading posts i think many people doesnt get it. It's sad but polish drivers need expensive ticket and accidence to learn how to drive saffely. Reading plates of these cars is not good. Police wouldnt get them ticket, and you only irritate polish people. We hate denoucers ;)

Here is an example.
In 2002, on the road between Czestochowa and Kielce, I saw a Fiat 600 with part of the front smashed in. In front of the car there was a crying woman with a child in her arms. The impact with the child had caused the damage to the car. This had little effect on some drivers who having seen this almost immediately began to act like idiots again.
I suppose the idiots think this girl did not have the right to live.

As far as the roads are concerned the sytuation has recently changed for better and It's still changing(I recommend you going to ukraine and comparing the roads in both countries and You realise that our roads are better). Moreover our drivers are much betterskilled than for ex. italian, turkish or even spanish and our cars are as the same as in western europe(I haven't seen "maluch" for a long time)

I did a 1000 mile trip from the Midlands to Wroclaw and back again. I will say in the citys they seem to have no idea what they are doing but on the motorways I found them no different to some UK drivers. I saw 2 accidents on my trip and the worst was on the autobahn in Germany. The other was a minor rear end. I've driven in much worse places...try Ireland for drink drivers and deaths then tell me about Poland.

I have never driven in Ireland so I cannot say. However I have driven hundreds of thousands of km in Poland and have seen many accidents.
Statistically Ireland is not bad with deaths per capita.
Of course there are worse countries than Poland - especially as one goes east but the film is about Poland, not Ireland, Russia or the Ukraine.

You may have seen what happened last Christmas when my home town in the UK published anti drink driving notices in Polish!!
The attitude is changing and there is clearly much less of it. I have been breathalysed several times which I think is a good thing and I do not hear complaints. As can be seen by comments below it is the same bad drivers who are also the drunk drivers. The problem is that the lives of others do not matter to the bad drivers.

@alanheath I agree it's extremely normal to see multiple accidents in Poland on say a 300km trip. I believe at one point the road from Krakow to Zakopane was listed as the most dangerous road in the EU. I have driven it maybe 30/40 times and have always, and I mean ALWAYS seen an accident. One car overtook me and nearly ran me off the road. @km down the road I saw the car on it's roof on the other side of the road in a field! Trust me folks, this is normal!!!! Safe driving has got nothing to do with some numbers on a sign or white lines.
Safe diving means to be in full control of the car and the situation.
Driving faster than allowed can be safe. Driving exactly what the sign says can be dangerous too in some situations.
Lump-some thinking does not improve road safety. And most speed limits are lump-sum.

Alan, one small comment about the a traffic law, which few people are aware of. The double line does not prohibit overtaking per se, so if there's enough room, you are free to do it. You simply mustn't cross the line.
Thus, the first two cars did indeed break the law, but the third didn't.

I have just driven the road leading north from Radom - lovely new dual carriageway. Only one direction is closed and the amount of idiots driving on the left hand side of the road was really frightening.

i lived in MK fo 8 months, a was delivering and collecing different cars to customers, driving 10 hours a day... so alot of driving. I can shortly describe MK as... no traffic, milion roundabouts, maybe 6 traffic cameras, dual carriageways everywhere! very easy road system. main streets are V(certical with numbers ) and H(horizontal) 45 mins to London Euston by Virgin train, two junctions of M1 motorway, and speed limit of 70mph in the centre of MK:)!!!

easiest road system in the UK, main streets are V(vertical) and H(horizontal) with numbers, so you do not need to buy map if i tell you that for example F1 team Red Bull is between V10 and V11 by H10:) i might be wrong but this is only example, while you drive thru the city you feel like in the forest, houses are behind "green barrier" The best thing is start Google Earth and "fly" to MK to see famous grid system and lots of green places

That is incorrect. Poland has lost a lot of funding because it was not spent on time but it is a tiny amount compared to that actually used.

It's kind of silly to say people in this country drive good, without breaking any laws, and people in that country drive badly. Different people live here and there and we shouldn't just generalize. Same w/ saying Polish folks are drunks and British guys are hooligans.. I do not like alcohol either, I'm an honest person and a good driver who stick to the rules while driving a car. I don't really think those kids present their patriotism or whatever with comments like those. I think they just expose their silliness and lack of good manners. But we cannot judge book by its cover because this could be deceptive. See I'm different from those guys, we cant blame all the Poles for their behaviour.

I saw a programme on TVN Turbo last night. I was shocked to see that for doing things like blind racing around corners on the left hand side of the road at over 150kmph is not worth a fine - just PLN300 for speeding. Idiots like that should have their driving licences taken away from them.

Yeah they should do something with it. Life does not cost PLN300.. Plus, kids should not be given driving licenses - driving a car is a grown man's 'game'. Young drivers don't know what 'responsibility' means. Here are some comments in response to urs:
1) Does speeding only occur in Poland?
2) Do u know that u broke the law by driving all the time on a shoulder?U cannot do that where the singe line is.
3) FYI u can see many people who thank to other drivers.
4) The car at 1:50 didn't break the law. Both lines weren't single when the car started to pass ur car.Then only the right line changed to single so the car could very easily and without breaking the law comes back to right lane from the left one.

The nationalist argument that it happens in other places is irrelevant. Only an hour or so after this was filmed I saw a very nasty accident possibly caused by ignoring the right of Polish people to use the roads. Bad driving in Poland is almost exclusively the domain of young men who think they have the right to kill and maim other people whilst going fast and not respecting the right of others to life. This film is about the right to life for Poles because the victims of accidents are Poles.

OK, I know what u meant but Poland is not the only place in the world with bad driving habits. Have you ever been to the USA? You should see some american driving, especially in NYC and then compare it to polish one. Besides for u who got used to the english driving with great roads, highways and without the right to pass the car in front of u polish driving may seem to be very aggressive.

I have seen worse driving than in Poland - I have only spent six days in the USA and only drove into town twice as a passenger.
The problem in Poland is dangerous driving - not speed.
If people were punished for dangerous driving through using speed cameras then it would be better possibly.
I am interested in defending the rights of the innocent who are killed and maimed through idiot drivers.
