wow thats exactly like the one my dad had when i was a kid, i loved it then and i still love them now. i can remember riding around with my dad in the fields all day long
john deere first with the hand clutch then farmall but man i hate the farmalls with 6 volt still and case come on what did they ever have that competed
Right now i have two farmall m's they do not have the "tip toe tire" but they arer in terrible shaper but work well and the engines are sompletly rebulit to have as much power as possibe for it's size. im planning on putting an old V-plow on the front for snow.
Not so hard--Case no.1, then JD,and then Farmall--no disrespect to Farmall, they always made a good product, drove well, too, but I prefer a hand clutch.
my grandpa has a farmall M, and its a absolute blast to drive, its like a sherman tank, anything in your way, brush, stumps, it just runs it over, and it can pull a crapload! i love the Farmall M it looks good, it sounds good, it is good.... its just a beautiful tractor.

what would be a good old school tractor that is realitively small. my garden is only about 3/4 of an acre. lol, you could just give me that one though. thanks in advance.
Farmall Cub, Farmall A, or Super A would be the ideal choice for you. Not too big, but not too small either. Maybe a Ford 9N if you needed a 3 point hitch tractor, but those are a tad too big for just 3/4 acre garden. There's lots of Cubs, & A's out there, & prices are decent. Look on craigslist, & ebay to get an idea. Make sure it's a pre 1960's model in good shape. Paint is no big deal, & sometimes you'll get a better deal on one that only needs cosmetics.
Yeah, they're tough old tractors for sure. My Dad's 1949 Cub still runs like the day it was built. They certainly don't know what the word "quit" means either.
Farmall Cub; The most versatile little tractor that can, & does! Don't be fooled by their size!
i just fucken cracked the damn head on my w6 deisel fuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111 its so gay i was out plowing and it started overheating cooled it down than went out again than when i got back it was hot again and steam was coming out of the radator cap
Why in those days americans tractors had the two front wheels so close? sry about the stupid question but its been a curiosity i have, and here in Brazil we dont see this kind of assembly.
The narrow front was nice for tighter turns and really nice for backing up hay racks and wagons. They are a pain in the ass in mud though because they just sink.
the front wheels would fit in between rows of corn and if you working in a barn you could spin the front wheels side ways and use the brake to turn right around in small spots
Nice M sounds good, My grandfather did not run any mufflers on our tractors, and after a day in the field your ears really stung. Your plow stands out nice to. Phil
nice m what size stack is on there i have a m in need of one and not shore on the size to go with but i like the sound of that one

Looks more Allis Orange than IH Red. Wish they'd fix that. I think Valspar is the culprit.

Also, if you're looking at Cubs, make sure it's a genuine U.S. made example- not one of those damn French ones.....

Kirkconway, MANY old tractors never left the dealer with a muffler, just a little pipe stub.
LincTexPilot 2 years ago
Will a straight pipe suck too much cold air and then suck a valve?
I want to do this to my W-6,
But a friend of mine said it wasnt good on the engine,
