As this was two years ago, can someone please tell me of a newer PC laptop that I could buy? A high powered one, good processing speeds blah blah blah (sorry, I am a complete noob to this kind of stuff).

@kefka151 it depends on what your needs are cuz you dont want to spend too much for uneccesary stuff. if you have programs that are pretty much hardware suckers then you will want a powerful pc.if ur a gamer its reccommended that you get a gaming laptop. if you just wanna use it for goin on the internet using media and running low hardware needing programs like pivot or something you can get a mini netbook which usually dont cost too much.hope this helps

ok guys if your are looking for a great mini laptop buy the mini hp 1000, very nice devide and really reliable were as the eee pc arnt i got the eee pc 1000 and it broke had to get refund ....mini hp 1000 can run many games like wow etc.... email me if you want and help finding a perfect laptop !!! i can give advice and videos !!

dude get a hp mini 1000 i got the eee pc 1000 it broke like 3 times and i fixed it even on the 1st day of opening it it had a screw loose and was ratling around and i had to take off the botum of the device.... i then got the hp mini 1000 which is a very quick and smart device and runs pretty much everything i play wow and run various multimedia things on it perfectly (upgraded to 2gb of ram)

Im kinda limited on money (less than $300) and I want to know if this would be good. I wanted an acer aspire one. I heard they were $200-$250. But I cant seem to find them for under $300! can you help me? Would this be as good if not better than an aspire one for the value?

this is the best so far....I did a long research and this one is the winner, you can upgrade the memory ram with out void the warranty not like hp or acer which i heard is very hard to do, I upgrade mine in 2 minutes.....the battery is 4.5 to 5 hours, but if you disconnect the wireless connection you know when is not need it... you gain about 1 hour more....

A couple of months ago there were few netbooks, but now there are tons, so it's gonna be hard to know exactly which one to get, if you want to get more bang for your buck.

I got me one 1000hb in best buy, and upgrade the memory for 2 gb of ram, and I love it, very good netbook, the said that the battery is good for 9 hours or so, and in reality is about 4.5 to 5 hours which i this is very good( 6 cell) ....

I find it at newegg, for $22. the installation is so easy, the only thing is that you have to go into your BIOS and turn 3 things off, reboot it and go back in and turn them on once again...let me know if you need any help....

The 1000HA is a variant on the 1000H series, as far as I can tell. It just defines the specs for it, because there are other 1000H netbooks that look identical but have slightly different specs.

Have owned 1000ha for about a week. VERY unstable. Multiple restarts required.  Touchpad loses functionality in firefox. Keys easily repeat strokes. The LCD has several stuck/broken pixels. AFTER 1 WEEK! Minimally functional as a computer. Finish a fingerprint magnet. A toy at best, not reliable or functional enough for serious business/school use. It's not all bad, but for MSRP of $400, you certainly expect better. My 9 year old homebuild is more reliable than this!

thought I'd give an update. The stuck pixel issue is bad... I called for a replacement, and they asked for my address and told me a prepaid shipping box was on the way. 3 weeks later, I call back to see where my box is. They had no idea what I was talking about. You are supposed to ship it to them. That's all fine and good, but now the warranty is expired for stuck pixels. No problem, I think. Wrong. They act like I am speaking chinese when I tell them my situation.  It sucks.

1 slot, and I don't know why you would want 4GB of RAM...

if you don't know where to look for the RAM expansion slots and need to ask, you would most likely fail at adding RAM.

you would also know that 4GB is completely unnecessary for anything you'd be doing with a laptop of this sort.
