@RCB0B Franz Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody No.2 - it's just a continuation of the music from the start of the picture, then the jazz band comes on and performs a swing arrangement of the same music. You can find the whole composition on YouTube
Pal and his artisans were geniuses & a studio backed 'em up. This short was an edited meld of 2 as I recall: The first had Jim Dandy initiated into a band of gypsies to marry the fat man's daughter ("Okay, you Gypsy now!"); in the second Jim was a shipwrecked sailor who befriended a Dorothy Lamour-type 'til the cannibals landed and both went into hiding. She's the masked dancer. A genuine pity more of these short films are not preserved; only a few are on DVD, "The Puppetoon Movie." Find it!
This didn't really scare me when I was a kid back in the 90s. Though I remember there being more to it, like that Maestro guy finally being allowed to play, only for those weird Spooks to chase him out of the theatre and into the street.
@RexBlazer1 there definitely was more to the ending where the maestro is chased out. thanks for posting that comment or else i would have forever thought i had dreamt it
This used to creep me out so bad when i was little

And if you like what's done w/music in "Part 1" search YouTube for "Date With Duke." That's as in Duke Ellington.

That "Part 2" is (at least today) on YouTube. Search for "George Pal Hoola Boola".
