  • I have a FJ ute in my back yard :)

  • Wish the guy in the valiant had kicked their bogan asses.

  • I saw this on Foxtel the other night. I wanted to like it, I really did. But it was so damn boring. Surely even in the 70's this must have been boring. Not only did it feature the two dudes in the holden, it must have been written by them too. But, as others have said, the shots around bankstown were interesting.

  • Made in my suburbs and shown at Chullora Drive-In across the road from my house! Good times :-)

  • @TheFlickster46 what about the gayline in narellan

  • As a movie it wasn't that great but as a commentary on Bankstown in the 70's it's fantastic. Some people look at it with nostalgia, some with bemeusement but however you look at it it's a window into the past. I remember watching it on SBS in the late 80's, even as a wee tot I liked FJ holdens being from mixed parentage didn't change that one iota.

  • This is a good movie showing how it was in sydney, no silly effects or over the top acting and a great car by the sounds running a warm grey.

  • This is a pathetic movie, about no hopers in a rusty piece of crap holden.

  • @skitssss1 WTF U ARE A DICK!!

  • @SlimeTron5000 in the valiants

  • @SlimeTron5000 Who cares?

  • @choppersgun You

  • @SlimeTron5000 What do you mean? One was chased by the two drop kicks in the Holden. Plus the white Australia policy only finished in 73. So the flood of immigrants who eventually took over areas like Bankstown and Cabramatta hadn't really started yet.

  • @WiseGuy02 Okay?

  • i remember bankstown as it was in the late sixties what a classic. A time billy bankstowners filled the square or what call now centro, also coles was in bankstown too. Long live those flanno shirts and the thongs.

  • loved the bankdstown square

  • Cherry Lane =P

  • We still mates , eh?

  • Old holdens with "p" plates, drags at Brickies, going to bankstown square & eating at the World Fair.Gotta love the way it was.

  • drags at Brickies!!!

    YES!!!!

    ah the glory days...

  • @GearHeadBoris I glad someone else remembers

  • Hi folx

Does anyone happen to know of any torrent/[]share source for the film? I only managed to watch it during a festival in Wroclaw but otherwise the film seems completely unavailable in Poland.

  • looks like the FJ I had in '71.....MEMORIES !!

  • This movie is an all time Aussie classic. The scene when the girlfriend goes over for dinner is priceless...

  • What's interesting is the shots around Bankstown before the lebs moved in.

  • my mum is in this movie she was hte one in the green dress go mummy

  • Ha ha! My mum was offered too be an extra in this film after walking past the film set, but she declined. I'm not sure why!

  • Probably Australian worst ever movie and maybe even worst that the mad max crap.

  • the acting looks shit but i rekon theres far worse aussie movies out there i.e you and your stupid mate and aussie park boyz now there just pure shit.

When this movie came out fj owners got free tickets to the premiere and apparently after 1/2 hour or so most of the fj owners left.

  • Great old movie, remember it well,Ol55 great band, and Rockpile where ever you are mate, you got staying power man,Ol55 and 30+ years later much alive as you guys were at kingswood high school 1976,your music shook the nation rock!!!!

  • Long live the 'J'

  • I wonder what Garry Waddell thinks of this nowadays?

    Hahaha

A great movie even though the acting was so poor, and the fact it seems so long ago, apart from being 1976, is a sign of how poltically shit Australia has become.

For the English fans who haven't seen the movie, you missed Mags Kirkpatrick (aka the freak from Cell Block H) in an extraordinarily opposing stereotype.

  • Wow, this film is awsome, havent seen it in a while but i loved it. Very funny and realistic film. Aussie Cinema Rocks. Thanks for posting.

  • this film is a aussie classic the good old days miss them
