@kevluv93 In reality, thats what they should have done. Hideo Kojima, I think, added them with swords instead to increase the drama and build up of the event that was about to happen. If this were real, snake would have been long gone by the time Raiden showed up.

Again, I could be wrong, but that is what I have gathered. I absolutely agree that MGS will never be the same, but it never said that Snake died. If he comes back, he'll probably be a little older
