I've recently been running WOW with Wine and Kubuntu Jaunty Jackalope. Seems to run sweet except that it kept crashing on me in Dalaran. Haven't resolved the issue yet. :-(
A ripoff. They charge you money to emulate windows software, which in my opinion, ruins the very concept of Linux. If you want to attempt to run a windows game in Linux, just use Wine (free).

yeah, it's same as XP, maybe even slightly better but I can't play using it cos of the crashes in Dalaran.

gnome i get around 25-40 fps
kde about same as gnome
fluxbox 50-90 fps
i got a crappy 8400Gs ;)
