Rosenthal ended it too early, and Sonnen said it himself (I didn't tap out). So It's a very controversial loss. Sonnen proved that he could back up his words. Silva got lucky. Dana White already said they are going to have a rematch.

If you actually did watch the fight, Chonnen looked at Rosenthal after Silva dismounted and said "what the hell are you doing, I didn't tap out." Silva danced.

Rosenthal's discretion should be questioned by Dana white. HERB DEAN IS THE BEST REFEREE.

Luckily I was able to find a Japanese Jujutsu school that teaches groundwork from Judo. So we are also skilled ground fighters, and also good while grappling standing up. But Sambo and Brazilian JiuJitsu all came from Judo. Judo came from 3 Traditional Japanese Jujutsu systems.

So Dana and the UFC can't get their way 'cause his fights don't go the distance, so decisions can't go toward their favoured fighter; as happens in the UFC. I would rather see an inteligent fighter not get tagged and win due to far superior tactics. I could see a messy scrap outside the pub on any given night.

@guachala If you watched the fight, you noticed that the Referee (Rosanthal) stopped it immediately. Even though Sonnen was leaning against his curve and was about to slam silva. Rosenthal ended it too early, and Sonnen said it himself (I didn't tap out). So It's a very controversial loss. Sonnen proved that he could back up his words. Silva got lucky. Dana White already said they are going to have a rematch.

@guachala If you've ever taken MMA, there is no such thing as a discreet tap. this can lead to many MANY problems with inexperienced refs. And Chonnen was about to stand up and slam Silva. In the press conference, Chonnen was trying (i think) to be a good sport. Because, as we all know, Dana White does not retract any fight decisions. If you actually did watch the fight, Chonnen looked at Rosenthal after Silva dismounted and said "what the hell are you doing, I didn't tap out." Silva danced.

@xKillerWandx Then why did he continue fighting after the "tap." When people tap, they're supposed to either a) go limp or b) tap more. No, he "tapped" once and kept continued trying to stand up. So, in my opinion, he didn't tap. At most, he started to, then he backed out of tapping. Rosenthal still stopped the match early. Same problem with the Lesnar/Carwin fight. Also reffed by Rosenthal. Rosenthal's discretion should be questioned by Dana white. HERB DEAN IS THE BEST REFEREE.
