I'm very confused by you performance. It sound beautifully and whats more you played it by ear, that is really amazing. But your technique doesn't fit that overall impression. You should try to place you seat farther away from your keyboard, or else your arms won't have enough space to move and you might hurt yourself indeed. Please take a look at other pianists. Again, I'm amazed, despite your crippling arms(excuse me but it looks definitely that way), you pull of that great performance.
@arschgrauviolett I think this person has never taken lessons. And I find his video more amazing for that. It doesn't matter if his arms haven't enough place to move if the results is like this ! Especially because I'm not a pianist but a violonist...
And the best musicians are often people who learned music by their own ! So they may have not much technique but they are very talented !
@nanas1109 I agree, as long the result is fine, technique shouldn't matter. But in terms of health I can only advise to change habits, if pain happen to occur. Besides approved technique isn't taught for nothing, it can improve your playing and help you to take care of your body.

Playing the piano is all about playing by ear lol..
Notes are just a way to learn the songs, if you play by ear you train your ears and will be able to play a lot better pieces.
You will also learn why it is played that way. You will learn to make your own version of songs wich you probably will not learn if you always play by notes.
And even if this is not true, let him play the way he wants.
It is not about playing what the sheets sais. It is about making music that sounds good.
If you learn by ear you learn the music, and I bet you do better. Reading notes and play piano are two different things. Learning notis is optional. Not required. If you play by ear you DO play by memory...
@milanmusicmaker just because you play by ear does not mean that your playing by memory. playing by memory means you have learned the song and no longer need the sheet music. i do that with canon, Davy Jones lullaby, Comptine D'Un Autre Ete L'Apres and a few others. But AGAIN i have already stated that I have played by ear. I play the Jurassic park theme by ear, i play Mario, Zelda, Disney songs all by ear. take the 5 seconds to see it was my Opinion.

I'm not sure what doesn't "match up." That absolutely is me playing the song. Besides, faking something like this would probably be more effort than just playing the actual song.
I had a question since you are here and everything. You are not just really good at what you do but you also only use 9 fingers, unless I'm wrong. Why aren't you using your left ring finger? Good, no, great work.
I think it's a play by ear thing. I play the piano by ear too and I do the same thing. For some reason, my left ring finger stays up too. Have no clue why. I'm sure it has to do with playing by ear. XD

There's probably nothing wrong with his hands. I'm the same with the cpu keyboard and I type 85 wpm. I don't know how to type, i just know where all the keys are. However, bcuz I dont type the proper way, my left wrist starts to hurt sometimes.

@AznSpiritJP i write and play my own music but i still use the sheets why? because it teaches you to read notes so that when u do need to use sheet music its easier to read. So to anyone reading this stop commenting with negativity, i know what I'm talking about, not on a professional level but i have been playing for about 15 years so I'm not completely clueless on whats proper and whats needed.

@Godsonesin Proper way to learn? Please. I hope you've grown up over the past year cause there is no proper way to learn to play music. I feel like you're one of those perfectionists that are obsessed with everything being done the 'right' way. Just becuase someone doesn't play piano the traditional way and by ear doesn't mean anything. Don't like the version? Cool, but why did you troll his video telling him how to play HIS piano? Pretty lame. Lots of famous artists learn their music by ear.

That commonly happens with Piano recordings. Dunno why but it usually records majorly out of sync with pianos.

I'm not sure what doesn't "match up." That absolutely is me playing the song. Besides, faking something like this would probably be more effort than just playing the actual song.

I had a question since you are here and everything. You are not just really good at what you do but you also only use 9 fingers, unless I'm wrong. Why aren't you using your left ring finger? Good, no, great work.

I think it's a play by ear thing. I play the piano by ear too and I do the same thing. For some reason, my left ring finger stays up too. Have no clue why. I'm sure it has to do with playing by ear. XD

you're probably seeing lag between audio and video- happens all the time.
You can clearly tell he's playing with the intervals and patterns- and you can hear B flat when he hits the accidental on the run at 1:02.

There's probably nothing wrong with his hands. I'm the same with the cpu keyboard and I type 85 wpm. I don't know how to type, i just know where all the keys are. However, bcuz I dont type the proper way, my left wrist starts to hurt sometimes.
