Fantastic little amp! I have the Vox Vt-30 and I'm continually knocked out by it. Really, it's the best amp I've ever played through for the money. Next project: redo a strat with Trisonics and BM switching ;)
@audiotrax2000 i also have one its just amazing how so much tone comes from one small amp. My personal favorite setting is the uk modern. It has alot of depth and drive to it
Horrible demo, fukin wanker, you can't do a precise demo with a brian may piece of sht and a treble booster. Yeah thats what we want a gay brian may sound.
hey im trying to decide wich one to get-the vt30 or vt50-i figured that vt50 might be to big but i just wanna know if the vt30 has the exact same board. you know effects, amp models, etc... down to the last one. so yeah if you can just try and get back to me... thank you
very nice playing man and a nice demo also :), i've got a question, Should i get this amp or Marshall MG30? ppl who own marshalls says it's better than this and ppl who owns vox says it's better than marshall, Thanks
@carlosewm thanks dude. im getting it for £120 of someone i know... so its not a bad price. I had a quick go on it and it seems fine.
my guitar tutor told me i cant do without an amp... iv always just plugged my guitar straight into my laptop, maybe thats why im so rubbish at guitar lol
Don't worry, it takes time to learn to play correctly and stuff, just make sure you're playing the right notes, don't rush, and focus on getting rid of bad addictions (mine was pinched harmonics lol). Speed comes along with practice in most cases.
I just bought a vt30, and when i put the gain up, on many simulations, it sounds very electronic, metalish muddy? I'm looking for a solid pure rock tone. do you have any suggestions?
To be honest I have never had that problem on this amp.... it sounds very "organic" to me... previous amps I have owned have sounded very digital but this one doesn't..
I think you may have a lemon... try it in your local music store to see if its faulty...
my fender frontman 65r broke today, lost all overdrive on it, i was never happy with my purchase (i was a noob when bought it lol) this amp is better that the frontman right?
I have had this amp for almost a year and have been so VERY happy with it... the way I set it up gives me all the tones I have ever wanted... a great amp.... IMHO
lo primero esque empezara por aprender un poco a tocar y luego que salga en un video porque cuando cambia apenas se nota el cambio en el amplificador ya que no se entiende lo que toca por su falta de tecnica y dominio que es nulo....
@Valensi127 c'mon man, he's not showing off his guitar skills in this vid, he's demonstrating an amplifier. I love this vid and it has completely sold me the idea of getting a vt30 :)
i was just traslating what other guy said in spanish u.u i just wrote the short version, i mean i'm nobody to say that someone sucks at guitar since i'm just a beginner
No offence taken I assure you! correct Greg.... it's about the amp and such NOT my bad playing hahaha The VT30 is a great amp... you will be very pleased if you get one.... thanks!
Hi, I bought this amp for my daughter last Christmas. Now , I like it as well. The one thing I do not like is a lack of an effects loop on the 15, 30, and 50 watt models. I like delay, chorus and all, but I would rather run pedals for these effects rather than the onboard effects. How does this amp take pedals in front rather than an effects loop. Thanks
Thanks for the comment ... Heres the deal .... I too find the effects on the amp to be okay but want to put "real" pedals in front of the amp instead of the in built ones. The problem is (as you may know) is that without an effects loop it is going to sound fairly bad. This is due to not being able to bypass the pre-amp so it gets a little muddled. I am investigating a simple mod to make a bypass. Stay Tuned okay?
Hey man i love blues but also play metal.would this amp sound good ith a metal zone? etc,,I love vox and want to buy this. But im torn between buying a peavy valveking for all tube and running a vox le through it,what your opinon? nice review
he tended to use two in series and then switching one of them out of phase... especially for the screamy stuff ... try the neck and middle with the neck out of phase for the classic Bo Rhap stuff....
yeah its like anywhere on the high e string its like a screechy vibration, almost like a very fast tremolo. its hard to explain but its just not a smooth sound at all
Yes and no . The AC30 comes with 2 different versions. Regular, Top Boost and the BM model... the BM model INCLUDES the treble Booster ... however you get a much better sound when using a REAL Booster and the regular AC30 setting. The BM AC30 model on the amp is still very "Brian" though ...
i have the same equipment as you. the vox vt30, red special from brian may guitars, and digitech vox pedal. When you wanna get the closest brian may sound do you use all both the booster and brian may digitech at once or just on of them with the amp?
I have been experimenting and I would say the closest sound is definately WITHOUT the BM pedal. Just the treble Booster and the amp is far superior....
i would definetly agree. I used to be obsessed with my BM pedal but now ive grown out of it. You get such a better sound with the treble booster and the ac30 tb setting on the amp. When you are using the neck and middle out of phase with the BM pedal it sounds very underpowered. The only thing i would need to use the pedal for is the keep yourself alive tone (until i get a foxx phaser). Now I dont even need to use the amp that much cuz i got an ac30 cc2
Yeah. Here's the thing though.... I have a small home recording setup using studio monitors and a digital 8Track... When I use the BM Pedal through that kind of setup it sounds almost IDENTICAL to the real tones. The pedal comes to life! I think it was designed and tested in a studio setup environment as apposed to a live setup. I will be doing a new video showing what I mean this weekend I hope and you will see what I mean. Thanks for the feedback... means a lot ...
No buzz problems here, Use a 3pin plug. Don't use the one supplied by the amp. IF you're in the UK/Europe should should be able to use 3 pins... the ones used by computers.
I have not yet had chance to really crank it but yes... it's pretty loud (3/4) The good thing about this is that you can crank the volume and master volume to get the driven sound but still have the amp on a low overall volume thanks to the built in attenuator.... good stuff

May had plenty of top-end treble and tons of thick overdrive....
this amp supplies both fairly accurately.
I love this little amp.
It really doesn't matter if you're a Queen, AC/DC, Hendrix, Van Halen or G'n'R fan...
this amp will deliver close tone to your needs.
