@Versudan Yea .. Coz they though the ELS invasion is in 3years time , suddenly it's 3 months , they don can't make much , if can they will make 50 GADELAZA 50 ZABANYA 50 HARUTE 50 00Q XDDDD !!
@TheDarkMercury Eh, don't even get me started with the Qan[T]...
A gundam without any sort of internal power plant (solar reactor), output (GN drive), powered by apparently sheer awesomeness or whatever, with tiny self guided projectiles the size of a person that can form self guided turrets, self guided knives, a shield capable of stopping anything, enhancing a sword to make a 50,000km long energy blade, oh and capable of making an INTER DIMENSIONAL WARPGATE. Like that's not overpowered at all
@amitakartok That's not acceptable. These drives are supposed to take a massive amount of time to create. And the movie cast go around making them in 2 years? It would take that long just to get to Jupiter and back let alone time to make another two.
Only one component of the drive requires the Jovian environment, the one Tau drives lack. Plus they had Veda to help them. Also, the "system trap" that gave CB Trans-Am and the Twin Drive might have given them exact manufacturing instructions as well.
That might not be the case for them. From what we see in the movie, both CB and the Federation routinely use Trans-Am for long-distance journeys - and even without it, Mars is less than a month away for their ships.
@amitakartok It takes 6 years normal travel to get from Earth to Jupiter. Trans-am allows 3 times normal specs for several minutes. Even assuming they could use it forever and ever and ever, it would still take them 2 years to get there. Again not including making the GN Drive and the trip back. Going to Jupiter is different than going to mars, going to jupiter is like going to mars from venus. It takes years. Besides, half of Qan[T]'s abilities are total bullshit anyway. Wormhole generators lol
True, the Qan[T] having FTL is just too far-fetched.
As for the drives, the Gundam wiki says the manufacturing process involves a dip into the Jovian atmosphere to harvest topological defects from the planet's gravitational field. The necessary infrastructure to build the drives was already there on hidden satellites.
As for the distance, it all depends on orbital positions of the involved planets. And despite what the anime might suggest, ships flying in a straight line through space while using Trans-Am WON'T slow back down once Trans-Am stops unless something actively slows them down from outside. That is, unless you know for a fact that GN Drives can somehow ignore Newton's first law of motion. Repeated Trans-Am is only needed for the acceleration phase of the journey, presuming they stop by aerobreaking.
@amitakartok Not just that but You would think that space ships by the time of the series are more advanced than the ones sent over a hundred years ago.
@Versudan well considering the first gn drives were made more than 100 years ago spaceship travel and technology had gotten more advanced during that time period and for technological and that's a rather long time for humanity to advance.
Shaman was probably the movie's "hey look, we can kill anybody in this thing" tribute to Gundam as a whole. His existence was significant from a story perspective but he lasted long enough on screen for us to go "oh look he died".
Captain Descartes Shaman: Not important enough to get any real development or a more dignified end, but important enough to have his own awesome theme music.
@fred888phil 00 became a shambles after S1. I think the Gadelaza + Shaman was just a ploy to hide the alien lifeforms till they were revealed. Seems kinda pointless. He should've played a bigger role.
@soldier4670 He pretty much was an attempt to hide the ELS, since they originally painted him as Ribbons Mk. II, seriously i still remember the promos. Apparently it was also rumored that Meena was Nena surviving and becoming Descartes lackey.
@fred888phil SEED was worse, BELIEVE ME it was worse. After all they created Shinn Asuka, thye most irredemable protagonist EVER. I'm sure that if he got killed off in any post Destiny work he would be as mourned as Andrei was by the fanbase. (cheers and rapture)
@LelouchVsGundam It truly is sad that CB with a fraction of resources, funds, manpower, two blown up GN drives, and recycled Gundams, can kick more alien ass than all of earth's armed forces combined.
@LelouchVsGundam Descartes Shaman is also the TRUE INNOVATOR, the second confirmed one since Setsuna. He could make a new badass rival to the Gundam Meisters, but the developers just had to kill him off for no reason, he could've returned as the ELS-assimilated pilot in the assimilated Gadeleza and fought Setsuna's Qan[T] as his final obstacle. (Yes, even he and his gundam have so little roles in the movie)
@Willy2537 There is a reason to Descartes and to killing him. The theme of the movie is to reach understanding through dialogue even if it seems impossible. Setsuna's 00Quan[T] even though it had tramendous offensive power was used by him in the way he saw fit for the future of the humankind. It reflects his ideology.
Descartes being the same Innovator chose to arm himself up, to fly in a huge shell, refused to make contact. Descartes character shows where conflict leads to.
@ellicor231 Remember that Descartes was also use as a test subject by the humankind, just because he was 'special' than others. He was trained as a weapon, to bring destruction to those on battlefield. I therefore think that he should have more roles in the movie. Descartes's desire to unleash his vengenence upon those he hates reflecting Setsuna's desire to have an understanding between the two species. Two different ideologies fighting together, wouldn't that make the movie more interesting?
@Willy2537 This is what I thought what the movie was actually gonna be about, having another faction of Celestial being hidden out by jupiter where they had a secret base or something with more advanced mobile suits and amassing a large innovade army as Ribbon's final trump card wouldve been cool.
@Willy2537 Descartes was pretty much the anti Setsuna, even more than Ribbons. He was the opposite of Setsuna's ideology, humility, goals, and fighting style. Sad part is that Setsuna could have wound up the same way if he was in Descartes position. It was Setsuna's time in Celestial being and what he saw that made him an uberbadass hero in the vein of CCA Amuro and EW Heero Yuy.
@Willy2537 Sadly Toei only had two hours to complete the Gundam 00 story. Besides if Shaman came back as an ELS zombie it would have cheapened the concept behind the ELS and pretty much pigeonhole them in the invading evil aliens like the Zonders, Radam, Vajra, Zentraudi, etc etc etc.
@aliastheabnormal He was a true innovator right? They could of used that as an excuse to show that his vengeance could push though even the ELS assimilation, with a monstrous body and machine that would reflect this. Setsuna could then sense that the ELS connected to this super Gadeleza were crying out in pain and that it was slowly gaining more power through the continuous assimilation. Then they wouldn't be treated as evil and we would get the desired "look at how awesome the Quant is" effect.
@WhiteVoidRagna Trailblazer should have been either an OVA or a multi part movie, lets be honest here. There was so much wasted potential and the ending was absurdly rushed. Even Nu and F91 Gundam had more scenes than 00 Quanta. Still the writers wanted the ELS to be totally foreign the complete physical opposite of humans and in a sense it would maybe have been too predictable.
@darksword101 F91 was meant to be a show but executive meddling trashed that idea. They turned F91 into a movie probably to give a link to Victory and F91 spawned Crossbone which is very popular and has gone into its fourth magna series.
@WhiteVoidRagna If the ELS ever come back somewhere else they should use Setsuna and Descartes as an angel and devil motif to judge others. It'll never happen but...
Kickass music. Movie seemed rushed though but otherwise good movie.
