I believe it represents the choice to give up or, keep living. Cemetery may represent his choice of life of death. The bridge is the gap between the choice. Perhaps the notebook was left behind as a symbol to let go of a painful past and his choice to live.

Beautifully eloquent writing. Creative and unpredictable cinematography. Phenomenally crystal clear picture. Subtle yet spectacular musical score. And an amazing yet heartbreaking storyline to top it all off.

This film is as mind-blowing as it is gorgeous, and frankly, I would not be surprised if it goes on to win three Sundance awards.
