Poacherman, I just saw Lucinda live with her current backing band, Buick 6. They totally rocked the joint. If you get the chance, you should go see them live. Even a video of a live performance is not as good as being there yourself. Lucinda knows how to rock, I guarantee that!!

I like "West", or most of it at least, but going by this I won't be paying to see her live. It's the kind of thing a worse-than average pub band might produce.

This is her style. She sings just slightly "off" key. But she is right there. Listen to anyone with her type voice and they all sing a bit above or below the note. That's what makes her unique.

She would be awesome singing the phone book.

no matter how "off" Lu is, the diehards still love her. She is so good and wearing her heart on her sleeve that it's easy to see how she is feeling. I saw her last year on her opening night and again on the last night of her US leg. Night and day difference between shows but both nights were moments in time. Nobody like her.
