  • I love these guys & the awesome Soul Rebels brass band

  • oh yeah

  • The sax breaks the song in two

  • Ленинград

  • @Trombonechess well then what you've seen ain't brass bands if they have saxes in them

  • @ch1ck3nru135 That is very true, it says in it's name: Brass Band.

Now, you CAN argue that the sax should be a brass instrument as it is made out of brass, and not of wood, as the inital woodwind instruments were made of (just recently made out of other materials).

But as the sax uses a reed as most of the other woodwind instruments, and have the hamonics arranged similar to the woodinds. So, thus it is a woodwind instrument.

  • does anyone have the arrangment?

  • @vitnetas It's available at their website, but it costs $50, I think.

  • This was really cool, would really like to arrange this. Problem is: No Brass band has got a Tenor Sax!!!!

  • @Kay0Wee Actually all but two brass bands I've seen have tenor saxes.

  • @THEmartinkmera Gnihihi... come on, he is a product not more... and hey, just kidding! But YBBB has talent... play something like that and then we can discuss! :-)

  • whose that sax guy? I miss the original Rastaman, he's the shit.

    Impressive solo though.

  • THIS IS BRASS

check out this michael jackson tribute by a japanese brass band

    /watch?v=pn_pzof9KWk

  • 15 Peoples love Justin Bieber XD

  • @Yummchen F*ck off man. let j.bieber alone. he has probably more talent in his shit popping out of his ass than you in your whole body. if you don't like his music, alright. but don't f*ck on him.

    UNHATE

  • Excuse me while I clean off my keyboard, as that sax solo just blew my mind all over it.

  • love that arabic feel in the middle of the sax solo

  • 15 ppl have no taste in good music

  • DAMN!!! awesome arrangment

  • My bands playing this song during our marching season.....Love it :)

  • My bands playing this song during our marching season.....Love it :)

  • What?!? No Sousa solo?!? What is this?!?

  • @IzlanderAlik ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

SHUT UP AND ENJOY THE MUSIC

    ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

  • Swoo de bola...

  • That was sexy

  • ou yeah!!!

  • YOU ARE NOT NAT McINTOSH!!!!

  • chills .... every time

  • Comment removed

  • I was looking forward to a trumpet solo. DISLIKE!!!

  • nice!!!

  • It's not the same without Nat.

  • @demayonnaise Agreed but the this guy has nice tone as well.

  • That's just amazing!

  • love it.

  • Brilliant

  • i love this so much, i'm not too keen on the sax solo though. Its a really good solo, i just don't think it fits :/

  • @Ukuleleboy100

Yeah they should all just play the same type of solo! or better maybe they should all just play the same solo...that would be best...;_)

  • @Ukuleleboy100

Yeah they should all just play the same type of solo! or better maybe they should all just play the same solo...that would be best...;-)

  • mis amigos y yo la tocamos pero no llegavamos ni a la suela

  • @turdferg098 Firstly, I can't post the video cause I could get arrested because they performed it at a concert. And second, I'm saying my brother's quintet is better than them when they were 15-16 years old.

  • This music is amazing !! It's extraordinary

  • I love this band and particulary this song !

  • yeah!! genial esta cancion me inspira!!

  • the sax ruined it

  • @rbrrosebitrose I thought that at first too, but after a while it sounds all right, i guess its an aquired taste

  • I think the trombonist was having some fun...

  • i feel that the sax sounded weird, but after listening to it after a while, i found my self repeating it over again.

Btw the trumpet chords were awesome!!!

  • This is probably one of my favorite jazz songs, but this performance I really didn't like it. For one, the sax solo didn't connect with the song to me that much, but I know other people think differently. I'm not trying to brag, but my brothers quintet did better than them, and they only have 5 people, and the band has like 10-15. And two, I don't think the trombone part connected with the song also. It was like too jumpy. :/

  • @xThunderdoodle I agree, I think the saxophone part spoilt it completely. It didn't even fit in the chords most of the time. Not to be a troll but there was no sax solo needed, well atleast if there was one: should have been much better, shorter and more useful.

  • @cheesydonkey Agreed.

  • @cheesydonkey Its just a pedal C ,no chords at all, when chords were played, he followed them. it's called free form.

  • @xThunderdoodle sorry im going to have to hate on you for a bit: If you're brother's band can do brooklyn better, I'd really love to see that (im not being sarcastic), I don't take it ur brother is getting paid, cuz if he is better than youngblood he should be getting paid. But to the rest of your comment, ur opinion is ur opinion

  • @2E0N0W2 One: he's kind of to young to get paid, he's only 15 almost 16. Two: I guarantee that he's going to get paid in the future because one, him and I are getting lessons from the person who taught the best trumpet player in the world. Now that kid is better than our teacher. And two, he's getting FREE lessons from two different professors at MSU. He's getting those because he got chosen out of bunches of people at lots of jazz band competitions. His band teachers know that hes goin to excel

  • @xThunderdoodle how is it even possible for someone to do it better than the original, and the best brass band in the world, answer is simple, it isn't

  • @xThunderdoodle If your brothers quintet is better, please post a video of them, because everyone here appreciates good music. So please, if they're that much better, quit doing us the injustice of thinking that the YBB is the best there is and show us this quintet that's so good. Please.

  • sax solo sucked at first but got better as it went on.

  • Apparently poor sax dude bucked the system. Power to him, I say!

We played an arrangement of this in our brass band a little while ago, and I got to play the Trombone part.

    :Dx100

  • love this song!!!!:D especially the trombone yayz!!!:D

  • I personally like the way the sax solo starts off by completely going into left field with the tonality but as it progresses it slowly starts to find its way back into the original feel of the piece. I thought it was a brilliant move by the whole group to add complexity to the piece

  • i wish i was this good... =<

  • Вау, круто, че

  • stupid woodwinds...they ruin everything

  • Da hora ...

  • How can u not like this song???

  • does anyone know which ablum this is from????? i need this on my iPod IMMEDIATELY!!

  • @muziklova220

    the album is called Center:Level:Roar

  • holy fuckin shit the sax was nice.

  • @Edelkacke dood the sax suked

  • @IIIIAnthonyIIII I thought so too the first time I heard it. I just didn't get it. But the more you listen to it, the more it actually makes sense. It's just that no one really expects an atonal solo. It's crazy but if you give it a shot, you'll see that it's freakin genius. Hard to believe, I know but it definitely worked out that way for me. You get into the groove with that weird interval,&you end up seein the connection. It's seriously worth listenin to a few times. Let me know what you think

  • @milleniumsamurai im a brassist and a drum corps guy...all the woodwinds i know kinda suck alot so i just kinda naturally diss woodwinds...during the song he sounds good but the solo to me is just eh

  • @IIIIAnthonyIIII I'm a sax and marching band guy. Haha. But I understand. To each his own. I'm definitely likin the interval and atonality. I wish everyone could but it's whatever.

  • Dope. but the sax disappointed me.

  • awesome but... where was the awesome sousasolo?

  • So awesome. I love listening to this song. Never gets old.

  • one of my mates has done an arrangement of this and it sounds sooo sick. actually in love with this tuneeee :)

  • holy shit i'm in love with this song. it's a pure masterpiece of musical awesomeness. i just had to learn it on my tenor sax.

  • THEY NEED MORE COW BELLS!!!

  • just a great groove. We play this in my pep band and it is so much fune. I love laying down the groove on bass drum. Can't wait to play it tomorrow!!

  • This song incorporates so many different styles of music, hip-hop, rock, new orlands style music, jazz and soul. For those of you that had somthing negative to say about the sax solo, you have to learn to percieve music outside of the box. Today we have been brain washed with so much computerized and looped music that follows an a-tonal pattern that when something comes along to challenge that, its not accepted as easily. Whatever happened to music being about expression, soul, and technique.

  • @drumbangerproduction i agree completely... in jazz 40-50 yrs ago ppl who listened to music alot wanted to hear different sounds and styles.... now if you don't like the sound or groove or sumthing, its shot down immediately

  • I'll admit the sax solo breaks up the flow of the song, but it's incredibly sick. Great demonstration of his avante/jazz techniques with a smooth transition back into the song. I was impressed.

  • I think he plays amazingly, but changes the mode too much in the sax solo its just like completely away from the entire style of the song haha.

He goes all free form. I love the one in the recording though.

  • This tune is killer, and listening to some of their newer recordings I'm happy to say that the saxophonist has picked up on the style a lot better.

  • This tune is sick, and listening to some of their newer recordings I'm happy to say that the saxophonist has picked up on the style a lot better.

  • trombone is the best solo their just look at the crowd going wild

  • trombone solo is awesome

  • the sax solo is good but dosen't fit in...

  • The sax solo is good but im a sophomore in high school and even i know implementing rest in your solo takes it to a whole new level.

  • Definitely not the same without Nat.

  • A mix of Hip Hop, Funk and South-Eastern European music.

  • how can you not love the young blood band?

  • is there a french speaker here ? Trop de la bombe cte musik sé sur sa kjé u controle ojourdui depui jékoute ke sa

The trumpet solo is the best

    Big up Youngblood brass band

  • 'Ahh Maaan, this is the Shit 'Bro!

    Sum-Body 'Stup-Mehh!!

  • i wish my girlfriend was at tight as these horns.

  • @cmyster3000 mine is

  • @cmyster3000 giggity

  • LOL RALLY TOWEL! XD

  • I NEED THIS MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @agentzare: not possible. I saw Nat three days ago with YBB. He still plays the sousaphone like hell. The guy is amazing.

  • Is this same same lead bone player on the album?

  • Why can't they just make a live video, instead of screwing around with it?

  • That's not Nat McIntosh on the tuba? no he's black, who is that?

  • That's not Nat McIntosh on the tuba?

  • @plane15man It's a sousaphone. But yeah, hasn't McIntosh gone off to pursue a solo career..?

  • no tuba solo? WTF?!?!?!

  • @ndillini76 Nat Mcintosh the original Sousaphone player quit in 2004. This guy can't hang. =P

  • The sax player looks like he's having a spaz attack while playing his solo thing.

  • 9 people don't understand the concept of good music.

  • i think i... yup i just jizzed

  • there is a difference between a tuba and sosaphone. tuba is for like legit actual good song playing (i.e. Jazz, concert band.) sousaphone is for marching band and this awesome stuff

  • Best recording of this song Ive found on Youtube.

  • snare drummer has a nice haircut

  • 4:03!!!!!! AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

  • Now I know what happened to they guys in my high school marching band.

  • :41 I didn't know Mr. T played the tuba

  • Hey :) i really love this song and i want to play parts of it... so are there notes of this song, or does anyone have sheets ??

  • It's a sousaphone you guys, not a tuba.

    Very well composed live!

  • @benny11111 Meh. A sousaphone has all the same tubes as a tuba just in a different shape. For all intents and purposes it might as well be a tuba.

  • GRANDIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

  • if only i could be their FOH

  • There are so many awesome brass bands around these days: Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, The Souljazz Orchestra, Menahan Street Band, Portico Quartet, El Michels Affair, and these guys but i agree about the sax solo there other then that its awesome!!

  • the sax player seems out of place or should get another sax

  • We want the NAT !!

  • It's interesting to see them do it live like this. It's not nearly as clean on the CD, which makes the song seem more approachable by us mere mortals. Can't lie though...the tuba solo live is WAY disappointing compared to the freaky stuff you hear on the CD.

  • @TerrickDupont The tuba player here isn't the same tuba player that was on the CD. Nat McIntosh (spelling?) was the tuba player on the origional recording and he left to go and play with the Dallas Brass.

  • @Marmakin Thanks for that info! That makes sense. I've always loved Tuba, but that guy made me in love with Tuba. I've never heard anything like him before. Makes me smile every time I listen to it. Crazy stuff.

  • @Marmakin the sousaphone solo on the track is incredible, makes me laugh so much but its just phenominal!!!

  • 9 people missed the "like" button.

  • @Balstann 14, haha. Dumb people I presume. xD

  • @Balstann Dont you mean 9 people listened to the sax solo..?

  • @Balstann nope, my guess is that they just didn't like this

  • Best song ever!! the only problem is there is no tuba solo. I wish Nat was still with the band...Kenny can't do multiphonics or the DJ effects like Nat. Plus Josh Smith's (Sax) solo is so out of place (although it is good)

  • nice t-bone solo but even throwder sax solo and since he plays tenor it gives him a deeper tone other than the alto

  • is it just me, or does the sax player seem a bit out of place?

  • <3 the trombonist with the head band.

  • Comment removed

  • I would like to have sexual intercourse with this song.

  • @XxBaSsViOlInxX ditto.

  • I've been extremely curious as to how Arian (Tuba) does that sound at the 2:03 4:24 and 5:02 . Is he yelling into the tuba? holding down valves half way and playing? or just playing really loud and it somehow sounds like that..?

  • @2E0N0W2 you're not gonna find the answer here. i asked around all the videos relating to this song. no answer. =[

  • @2E0N0W2 he is humming and playing at the same time

  • @2E0N0W2 i think he's just moving his fingers extremely fast and slurring up so that it kinda sounds like a gliss on the trombone. that's my guess at least. i don't think he's yelling or singing into the tuba to make that sound.

  • That sax solo is so sick. With the tuba just vamping the root he can take it so atonal which makes the resolution incredible. Just a brilliant way to take such an already awesome song to another level!

  • this is awsome. and malzbiervonaldi. thanks for the compliments. lol

  • What's the meaning of a band ?

    THEM !! The YoungBlood

    Just Great !!

  • it's not the same without nat :(

  • EARGASM

  • Just learned the tuba line to this by ear, that shit is SICK!

  • @tubaplayer01 dude. that tuba player is sick. he's like a string bass. it's crazy good.

  • Soul is for Brothers,

    Jazz for Egos.

    This is soul!

  • @inspiralroses Jazz is not for egos. Gtfo with that shit.

  • @genesis344 No shit, man, no way at all.

1st: YBBB is soul, I didn't say more, I didn't say less. 2nd: Do you prefer an endless solo which shows big skills of a single person or a powerful group performance? 3rd: If you try to whistle a hookline of a song you know, what will come out? (Do you remember jazzy things or more poptunes?) Please understand, I like Jazz. But more for its heart, harmonies and hooklines than for its musical abilities. Which makes me say: Jazz as well can be soul.

  • GHessenthaler

    Theyre awesome

I played it (@GHessenthaler on trumpet:P:P:P)and its Fun and its unbelevable

    !!

  • bandheadjd i thought you said you like sex but these people are pretty awsome

  • really cool. good balance. not too much trumpet like usual

  • TOP

  • Someone said it was too atonal- I disagree- but maybe I'm just used to listening to too much atonal music.

  • The thing is, no matter how far out the solo is, most of what matters is how it ties in with everything else and how you bring it back in with the rest of the band at the end of your solo. I think most of what he did worked out very well.

  • These dudes rip it!

  • awesome sousaphone

  • the sax solo is amazing.... it's just too atonal for a song like this.... anyway i still like it

  • awesome

  • The multi phonics on the tuba sounds nice

  • @Renendan he is not using multiphonics....

  • @Renendan yeah he's actually screaming into the tuba

  • this is THE SHIT.

  • who knew mel gibson could play trombone so well.

  • The tenor solo was crap but the rest was great :D

  • @danniy999 lets see you do better

  • They need a big soul singer fronting them

  • @Seagerash

The snare-drumer also is a rapper and it just fits perfect. they do not only do soul but they bring a great beat which i think is a part of hiphop.

  • I love the sax solo BUT it dose not have the Brass Band Feel it takes you out the song but still a sick solo
