It is not version. It is called variation in music. In Malayaalam song it is more to Baroque in Kaapi Raaga. Listen to the bass part against the melodic ( basso continuo).

Magic of IlaiyaRaaja is this! How come the same tune is used to express extremely contradicting moods or expressions! Perhaps, the Compiler of this Video missed the song from "Aur Ek Prem Kahani". There are very fine changes in the tune to suite different situations and great changes in Orchestration or Arrangement. Musical basic form seems similar (same tune) but the content & context changes and IlaiyaRaaja handles well this!

Hwei 22222utube, wat do u mean by Ilayaraja greater than priyadarsan? UI mean 2 say IR is a plagiarist? If tat s so, pls correct urself... First this song was released in Auto Sankar, then Olangal Malayalam, Then a Telugu, and now in Paa a hindi film. All 4 films has Ilayaraja as the MD. Then y do u say he is > than Priyadarsan who has no own ideas?

So u wanna say dat Raaja just churns out his old numbers in all languages and so he can not be genius?? If so, ask Laslo Kovaz, Conductor of Budapest Symphony Orchestra, John williams one of the greatest composers ever, Stephen Schwartz, Oscar winning Lyricist, A.R.Rahaman, double Oscar winning composer. They'll tell you why Raaja is genius!!

@mandagaddi ya its true. ilayaraja mostly cant accpet the repeated work .but some times rarely directors wanted the same tune. Even in paa balki also wanted.

It is still a hit in all the languages.You forgot to add the humming and the instruments which was hit too.Iam sure even the English version would be a hit too.
