@scooper12 Bob Marley is not on the same planet with Yes.Reggae music is soooo one dimensional just like rap it can never be more than what it is, like checkmate from the first move it's trapped itself by the first song and that first song is the same as the last by style.Yes is an ever evolving universe of music,Rush is too.You can say progressive but even that's vague, bands like Yes cannot be categorized they are what they are and what they become.
@EBBadd1 I think whether or not something is "one dimensional" is a matter of taste. I'm a huge reggae fan and I know of plenty of reggae artists that incorporate a myriad of styles into their work -- Bob Marley's own children being examples. And as much as I like Yes, I would ask, has Yes become a global icon for the oppressed in the same vein as Bob Marley or Peter Tosh?
This song IS actually about Bob Marley -- and clearly Yes felt his impact, along with so many other artists.
A song for how if we treat each other with kindness and respect, and do not get upset over useless things and resort to violence as a way of life, that people can live in peace. If we take the blindfold off when life leaves us blind, Love will keep us kind. That is the message.
This is "The Messenger."...in fact..the messenger very well could be Jesus. (credit to a fellow, not written word for word by myself).
