@alaurel81 No. That's like saying the F/A-18 and the Y-17 are the same plane. They "look" the same, but they have different specifications, and roles. The YF-12 was a prototype interceptor. Which is a MUCH different role from the SR-71, which was a reconnaissance aircraft. Now, if this was a prototype SR-71, then there wouldn't be any fuss over this. But, the fact of the matter is, this isn't a Blackbird, and it never will be one.

@JELB7 The fact that they even put the SR-71 in this game is really stupid, the SR-71 was a Reconnaissance Aircraft, meaning it wasn't even built to fight, but to obtain data over the Soviet Union at almost 90,000 feet, It didn't rely on weapons to defend itself as non of the Soviet's fighters or SAM sites could even touch it. So it didn't carry weapons.

@dameinxyz the majority of SAMS travel at about mach 3.5 which is roughly what 350-400 mph faster than this aircraft, not forgetting the aircraft travels at 80,000ft - so the chances of a sam actually touching this aircraft are pretty damn slim. although saying that the US navy have SAM capabilities of up to 10,000kph with a range of about 200+ nautical miles which would catch it in no time ;) but why would they shoot their own aircraft? haha.

plus, it was only ever a stealth plane wasnt it? weapons mightve slowed it down, added weight, or increased the chance of getting detected. I'm pretty sure the main selling point was that it could take a good long look at what the bombers mightve been going to bomb, and if it ever got into a fight, it could outrun anything that came at it

correction: this is supposed to be a flight sim with an arcade feel: meaning that just like in real life a missle will always travel the same speed, if not accelerate until it hits something, is shot down, or has ran out of fuel.
