The HHH/Ole comparisons are not too far off. Its well known HHH is a huge fan of old school NWA. In one of his DVD's, he said unlike the other kids his age, he didn't watch the WWWF growing up in the northeast. He preferred Georgia Championship Wrestling and Mid-Atlantic's syndicated stuff.
The Anderson's were so cool when I was a kid...my best friend started doing gene's twitch and it soon became something he did without thinking about it. Remember my mom say she didn't think he'd be able to stop doing it later in life.
Genes my Grandpa. I was only 2 months when he died. so its crazy to see him on here lol i wish i could of had the privillage to see him in action. but yeah my mom told me jonny weaver put him in the sleeper and it messed up his vertebrae preety bad so thats where the twitch came from
Some of my earliest memories was Olie & Gene. Then I remember Olie & Ivan Koloff feuiding (for a short time i think) w/Tommy Rich & Rick Martel. How did Gene get that twitch? Was it an accident in the ring?
IIRC, the angle was that Johnny Weaver put Gene out with the sleeper and waited a bit too long to revive him. Gene and Ole worked everyone Rich/Martel, Flair/Valentine, Tim Woods/Dino Bravo, Wahoo/Paul Jones,Weaver/George Becker, etc. The Wrecking Crew were pioneers in the tag team division and a great heel team.
I've seen the Anderson Bros. for years growing up in Atlanta, been to MANY of their matches but I've often wondered about that "twitch" that Gene always did.Was that some sort of condition he had or was is just part of his gimmick?
As I watch this clip Tripple H character reminds me a lot of Ole Anderson. Tripple H like Ole can be a good face and a really damn bad heel, moreover Tripple H like Ole is very unpredictable. One never knows when Ole or Tripple H will turn and stab you in the back

This is actually a spot on comparison. The way you've said this have made me get a whole different level of respect for Triple H and it's the absolute truth.
WOW! Does that bring back some memories!

Gene was a silent assassin who did his talking in the ring. Sometimes I think Ole spoke too much.

@JonathanVonErich
Gene's facial expression looked like duh
Ole was an incredibly overated wrestler.
Best move was dumping him and getting it right the 2nd time adding Windham to the Horseman

No body was a meaner tag team than the Minnesota Wrecking Crew...

This was before/after Gene had to report to ABC's 'Wide World of Sports' with Jim McKay. God bless both Gene and Jim. :-)

Gene was a tough old dude and Ole really had a lot of love for him in his heart. We lost Gene too soon. He was a legend.

I second that opinion, my friend. My earliest memories were of the Original Minnesota Wrecking Crew.

Gene's twitch was supposedly the result of a legit past head injury.

Ole plays a great bad guy but he looks like such a nice guy.Kind of like an uncle or something. LOL!

If I made a top 10 list of best tag-teams in history, the Minnesota Wrecking Crew (Gene/Lars, Gene/Ole, then Arn/Ole Anderson) would be @ #1
