This is an amazing program. The case this year (People v. Woodson) is quite intriguing. I find this program to be amazing for what it's doing. It really gives us (the students) a very good feeling for what an actual trial is like. I am the prosecution's expert witness, but I know every objection that can be made, and how to make them. I know the form and function of a trial like the back of my hand. This is such a wonderful thing that the CRF does. I'd like to thank them for putting this on.

I had a mock trial practice and we need a lot of work. Mock trial is a lot of work but it's really worth it. A lot is made on the spot, and its excellent :D

I agree, most people don't think it takes that much effort to really pull off--but it certainly does. I am prosecution's and defense's expert witness, btw.

He says that "the kids memorize their lines and know what they're going to say", which isn't true for many of us--we work at memorizing legal procedure and techniques of litigation and applying them in the courtroom. Mock trial isn't scripted; it's participants work hard to produce the real thing.

Well, while lines are specifically memorized, it is a valid and helpful practice to memorize our line of questioning. And the opening is rather pre-done and the closing is half and half.

No denying the second count though. Mock Trial is hard work, but I look forward to the new case arriving this year.
