  • see this is great like nerd porn :)

  • how much memory?

  • If you are going to make a video, you might want to put lights in it so we can see what you are showing us :)

  • dude !!!

  • The loudest problem with a at home DC is the noise, What was I trying to say?

  • man i bet it gets HHHHHOTTTTTTTT in that room

  • very interesting seeing the retro equipment.

  • awesome video

    thanks for posting

  • Dude, finally open the windows, let fresh air in an go out to search a girl for you ;-)

  • i could barely see it

  • Heh, now all this equpment is as powerful as my new gaming rig lol, at least you upgraded :)

  • redtube node :D

  • To think my housemate used to give me grief for the power consumed by the one server I have that's also my router and fileshare. It's only a desktop machine like the one at the end of your vid and I'm thinking of swapping for something with less power. As for the noise, I don't know man, there's something reassuring about hearing all your fans spinning happily and the odd disk read from someone browsing isnt there? :D

  • why bother with this when you're only likely to have like a max of 10 PCs at home

  • @Lonewarrier1 To educate yourself and get a career in IT?

  • @jasonked1 Fair point, lol.

  • Geez guy... get one good machine and run this stuff on VMWare ESXi... it's all old hardware. What you are spending on running that airco 24/7 and those machines must be insane. 2nd... why are you running this all for 1 or 2 computers?? Don't get me wrong... I have also a home server, also a domaincontroller, etc. but all runs on 1 box with ESXi. Consuming for sure much less power etc. than your setup.

  • nice...

  • Global Warming?

    Problem Obama?

  • this is very quiet.

  • lol what did u use all of that for?

  • How old where you when you did that?

  • i got ignorant question here!! what does the servers do !!! if it does'nt even need a monitor display?

  • woaaah.....now this really sucks up some juice right?.....do you get a big electricity bill because of that xD ?

  • Please can you post a video tutorial on how to setup a Datacenter like this?

  • lol I was looking for the duct tape. :D Good to see you virtualized it... would probably all fit on an old Dell 2850. :)

  • config diskettes ; some compaq need them for configuring hardware into the bios cmos

  • Do you still have this infrastructure ? and why do you need it now ?

  • Datacenter? I have more computer hardware in my bathroom. Fans and AC for a few cheep computers.

  • @mstiehm LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLz :)

  • Datacenter? I have more computer hardware in my bathroom. lol

  • Why do you need all these servers at your own house?

  • @ZulfadlyAshBurn Probably to run his online drug dealing business.

  • @Armornone haha. probably :D cool

  • @Armornone Don't ya love it when the disenfranchised lower income white guys have to resort to contrite stereotyping to lift their esteem? Keep it coming! We love the show of weakness.

  • @justinforu123 When you say sterotyping, you mean reality and facts? Sorry you can't handle the truth about blacks. I guess that is why you need 1 set of rules for blacks and another set of rules for everyone else.

  • y?

  • Wow... How much power is that setup sucking up? I'm thinking you could get, pretty much any new, server with higher capacity (both storage and processing wise) and have the cost returned just by power savings...

  • What internet connection would I use of I want to connect a web server to the

Internet? Is it the normal ADSL? and who much does it cost per month in dollar?

  • This feels like a bit of Lain.. probably because of the sound effects and quality of video...

And Oh Look! It's the old YouTube... Nostalgia...

  • haters

  • Seriously man? I know this video was uploaded in 2007, but damn man.. all that shit in your apartment was super ass old in 2007 which is why you probably had it seeing IT shops were throwing all that crap away by 2005. I bet your electric bill was probably as much as your rent. I tried a set up like that in my home and got rid of it a month later. Just realized that a modern laptop with VMWare was 10X more powerful & did more than all that crap in that room & the electric bill was a lot less!

  • wow... you could make an online gaming service..

or just give up by making an porn site XD

  • where's the light switch?

  • dude, how much do you pay your electricity bill monthly?

  • how much you spend on electricity per month?

  • WTF...you think yourself a die hard 4 attacker?? why so much investment at you hoem? what do you keep there? nonsense..

  • redundant air-condition . :) nice...

  • All I got is 3 PC's: 1: Intel Atom 1695Mhz N450 1GB RAM 250GB HD 1Gbps Ethernet 2: 1GB RAM Pentium 4 2.60Ghz HT 40GB Hard Drive 3: 256MB RAM AMD Duron 800mhz I'm gunna upgrade number 2...(The RAM to 4GB)
  • Atleast u got the slippery gel handy.Good Man!

  • i bet yo momma get super pissed when she get that power bill. but really, thanks for the antique show. a $2000 gaming system on a $20 CRT? lolololololololol

  • You need a liebert ups

  • ..ebay left overs

  • @Num1shark True that.

  • OMG dude, how much do you pay for power?

  • @PROSVCHOST It is a very old setup. I don't have it anymore so the power is much cheaper now but back then it was about $300 a month in the summer and about half that in the winter.

  • why the hell would you have your personal computer in the same room as the server, thats just insane/retarded. my computer is pretty loud but i couldn't imagine trying to play games with that much noise (hell i sit my single computer half way across the room from me because of its noise)

  • @kght222 Because that is the way I like it noisy.

  • Two domain controllers? Honestly, I hope your making money with that overkill of machines in your home. You need a return on that investment.

  • @flyromeo3

He don't even use domain controllers....his site resolves to godaddy.com ns53 & ns54....whats the purpose of the five servers then?

  • @brianfking I had my own name servers but it was too much to manage and secure so I let Godaddy deal with it.

  • @flyromeo3 You got that right.

  • LOUD

  • @TheLegendizCody Agreed.

  • should tidy that up with 1 tower and some raid cards.

  • @deluxedookie Already have in my other videos.

  • damn i had that server center as well :D had an old proliant system :D

  • Did you buy all the Microsoft server licenses?

  • @biksuni Maybe I did. Maybe I didn't.

  • what a mass

  • did you have any installation for linux and windows server 2003?

  • @bobctx now I do. Unraid slackware file server.

  • holy eletric bill in the ass batman!

  • I wanna get myself one of those baby dlt driver loaders.

  • @pussiestroker they are nice to play with but I nice SAN is better.

  • Wouldn't it just be better to make a 1u server and put it in a nearby datacenter? Anyways the setup does look pretty sweet, although you probably cant host any real websites on there due to lack of proper bandwidth.

  • looks like you just went shopping at a flea market. i'd be embarrassed, not proud of this garbage.

  • @pmarinelli1 fucking lol

  • messy messy messy tsk tsk tsk

  • must use soooo much power

  • smartstart is your friend

  • the best home porn business...LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION and then upload that shit on your own website..

  • Matbe next time buy a light bulb

  • lots of porn!

  • @killyoulikeapig lot of movies too. More movies then porn. I think.

  • @kalitron60609 Lots of porn movies!

  • @killyoulikeapig MASTER OF PORN LOL :)

  • @killyoulikeapig porn on the cloud

  • I wouldn't use Windows for servers. Never, except one for domaincontroller stuff if you have workstations running Windows. OpenBSD as firewall, the rest of my machines runs fine with Linux, except for two VAXstations, that run NetBSD.

  • @daspolemon I actually worked with windows since NT days and it works; however, it is the same old shit after every version. I am quiet bored of it and I really dont like using at home office or labs because I work with it enough at my job. I really like ubuntu and i run all my web servers. I would like to get all of my home moved over to linux soon. I just don't have the time learn what I would need to know to install it, manage it, troubleshoot it

  • he's probably hosting a piratebay server

  • @crack1110 I am thinking about setting up my torrent website for public use.

  • @kalitron60609 i say do it! get hooked up with the pirate bay and host torrents

  • ЛОХ

  • Hello ,

I want to setup a small CCNA practice setup at home - can you suggest me which cisco router i could go for- I am planning to have 3 systems.

    Thank you

  • without the ventilator and the fans it must be very hot in this room! 40°C??!!!

  • @Maximus20009 It was ok when there was not too much humidity in the room.

  • lol thats pretty damn cool

but.. why ahve such old equipment when u could have one modern server whip all those servers ass 2x?

    for fun?

or is this all u had at the moment

when i first started doing servers i had ancient equip. lol

    cool setup man

  • @animebsd For a small domain like this where its mostly used for data storage/backups you don't need that much power. I have two 2005 1U servers with Xeon 2.8's running my tiny little .local domain. One is a DC and the other a file server.

  • and whats your electricity bill?

  • As all this has cost you?

the costo of all hardware... ?

  • Why do you need a server? What are you serving??

  • want to sell all that crap buy one computer and a few hard drives to do it all.

  • oh i think it was very expensive..

  • Oh, this is similar to Google's infrastructure.

  • Seems like a big waste of power.. could pretty much get one fast box and be done with it all .. no aircon needed..

  • dis here room git hawt! naw am' sayin? naw am' sayin?

  • hhahahahahahhahahahaahahah i have a big rack :D

  • come on man why so much is this all for ur web site i dont get it

  • Ive seen a picture of this room posted on a website before, in a battlestation thread

  • how do you create those?

  • great setup, has any of your servers gone down before and what is your best server

  • What are you doing with all this stuff?

  • XD your computer has it's own air condidtioner

  • @fireyblackdragon I'd like to live like that! my own personal AC following me around! Hahaha

  • ouch..hell of an electric bill! I applaud your enthusiasm though.

  • haha awesome dude, brings back memories of my room as a teenager.. 22 computers, all weird shit hardware, room felt like a sauna.. kudos

  • Cable managment.. WHAT CABLE MANAGMENT. !!

  • bye bye antartica XD

  • fuck

global warming problem its actually in that room

  • @kalitron60609 u have some sort of server antivirus software, you said you download lost of torrents. have you ever had a virus problem?

  • Comment removed

  • Woot :O

  • So the monitor manages all that stuff? Nice...some clever monitor you got there.

  • I am really garteful you didnt switch on any lights, as then we could have seen something.. and that would never do would it..Not on a video and all.

  • Messy but cool

  • But what if the power goes out - do you have a backup generator?

  • wow a pile of junk.. im so not impressed

  • love to pay your electricity bill

  • What are you doing with all of that?

  • Dude, at least buy an LCD instead of that CRT

  • @Panther704 Why? I'm pretty sure it only shows queries.

  • 1.5 TB raid

    oau

how old is this video ??????

  • Who is your broadband provider and how does there quality of service to your home impact the speeds of your server? Do you host website on this server??

  • You should seriously think about buying a rack.

    And some LCD monitors too.

  • That is great I'd love something like that for my work

  • impressive; just read your blog about things IT workers hate about their jobs; it's true you guys have it rough because of the constant need to upgrade your skills; there has to be a time when it all ends, where technology just can't evolve anymore (ah, what do I know); I used to work in manufacturing, building store fixtures but lost my job because of overseas cheap labor;

hoping to start a new career in electronics....new job....but same ol' shit I guess.

  • I have one tiny server in my room, and it sits in a cabinet next to my desk. If I close up that cabinet it hits over 70C within 15 minutes.

  • I think you took the term "server rack" the wrong way...well, actually only the "rack" part.

  • LOL! How many cables xD Why you need server? xD It's old xD

  • What was the purpose of this video, other than to show off a bunch of old servers, yet no mention of what they do. Or are you one of thouse people that just have to have everything. So when their mates come thy can look inteligent rtying to do stuff with a server LOL

  • @michaelball123 Thank you!

  • Why didn't you turn a light on?

  • Gee, u have water cooling system, which is dedicated for silence, in such a noisy room? Hell, I don't understand. Have you heard about virtualization? U can put all your servers in just one powerfull PC (maybe that one water cooled) and have the same results and have silence, low power consumption, scalability, easy sizing, and a lot of other important things. What's going on? What's the reason of sharing this video?

  • He did mention ESX.....

    You know as in VMware...

    VMware as in virtualization...

  • how can you sit in that room? it is noisy as hell

  • you can afford 20 computers and 50 servers, but the only monitors around are 14'' CRTs. whats wrong?

  • @hzzm :-)

  • @hzzm

    CRT>LCD

  • @hzzm do u really need 60" LCD screen for server? seriously?

  • @hzzm i dont know anyone who can use a 22" TFT HD screen to view BIOS and simple server menus

  • Comment removed

  • @hzzm I think the 14" is only for the server.

  • @hzzm

    its called SSH/RDP.

  • @hzzm You obviously know absolutely nothing about server rooms. Usually there's only a few monitors in the whole damn place if any at all. Server rooms are for hosting the porn, you use your workstation to look at the porn.

  • @hzzm You don't need more to manage a server

  • @hzzm Because all servers are also old as hell

  • @hzzm spend less money on monitors to have more left over for more servers :D

  • @hzzm its a server room, not a movieroom

  • @supertamal2000 Finally somebody that understands. good looking out dude.

  • Comment removed

  • you need 5 servers why?

  • to feel special? xD

  • your wasting energy for nothing for home use you only need one server, maybe 2 thats it

  • wow.... I thought I had a lot of computers just having my Windows home server, and my dedicated web server....

  • Wow dude, how much did you spend on all those?

  • Having a lot of computers is cool, but you could easily save a ton on electricity by virtualizing all of that on new(er) hardware.

  • Haha wow the fun i would have, nice work man 5*

  • For home use?? What is the sense of this??

  • Learning.

    ... or lots of porn.

  • I pc could have done the same task that those outdated proliants do.

I think you are an idiot lol

  • and why u need 5 servers?...

  • Because I watch a lot of porn

  • @kalitron60609 hhahahhahah

  • @kalitron60609 rofl.

  • @kalitron60609 R u serious?????????????

  • @kalitron60609 OMG GREATEST COME BACK EVER!
