Call me stupid but poking that thing with a stick is probably not a good idea. You can not outrun that snake so if it decides to get you there is nothing you can do. I would say you were very lucky to come across it when it was having a good day. :-)
Reading the postings on this video there does seem to be a huge amount of unnecessary fear around snakes.
If a venomous snake is around your house call a handler to relocate the snake - the reason the snake is there is probably because there are frogs or rats present - so deal with the cause of the snake being present...
Killing a snake purely because of the fear you feel is not particularly going to help anyone...
I usually leave non venomous snakes alone, however, I only have one solution for poisonous snakes especially around the house, 12 gauge shotgun, works every time. There is no way I would have allowed that black mamba to leave there alive. They are one of the most poisonous snakes in the world.
Hi. I am a elderly female who has never posted on Youtube before and never will again. I have been called a fuck face and an ape. I really don't care what happens to the people teasing the snake in the swimming pool. I am a teacher and I love nature and I know snakes are territorial and if you morons want to catch and release a black mamba I will be the first to push you into the pool.
The Black Mamba is the fastest and one of the 3 most venomous snakes in the world. It is aggressive and attacks where a snake like a rattler would back off. Kill it at all costs.
@redwolf1954 Black Mambas are not aggressive and they will not actively pursue people. They are, however, defensive but there's a vast difference between aggressive behavior and defensive behavior.
They cannot strike 12 people in less than a minute and no venomous snake's venom is so potent that it can reliably kill people of average health with an average, or even naturally high, yield of venom in under 30 minutes. A human fatality in under 30 min. from any venomous snake is an anomaly.
this video grinds me. If you cant handle snakes then don't come near these creatures. What you have done very well here is provoked and pissed off the most deadly snake in africa. Get a snake catcher to come in catch the snake and move out. But I will commend you on proving to the world that you are a complete idiot!
There is no need to kill it. Yes, its nervous temperament and large size make it a rather dangerous snake, but don't forget that we are the intruders, not them...
@natenisbet Yes, I agree, I love snakes (as long as they don't try to bite me!). I co-existed with a rattlesnake for many years out on a ranch. But, having said that, I saw a TV show where Australian aborigines (San bushmen) actively pursued and killed a black mamba when they saw it approaching. If they're scared of a black mamba, I'm scared of a black mamba!
@redwolf1954 i disagree with you buts thats your opinion but listen that snake only kills humans to defend it self while people in wars kill each other not for defense but other things
@maxmanic2 Most of that comment was so irrelevant.
And the thing is Mamba's don't strike purely for defense, they will actively pursue people and bite them. That's how Black Mambas are. I don't think it should be killed but still, Mambas do not just strike you if you get too close, they're a really dangerous animal not only because of their venom, but also cause of their temperament.
Unlike most other snakes. The Black Mamba can strike up to 12 times in a row. A single bite from a Black Mamba can inject enough venom to kill up to 10-25 grown men, easily killing one unless the appropriate anti-venom is administered in time. Also, unlike most other snakes, theyre highly agressive and terrotorial
this snake isnt even in the top ten most venomous snakes, but its definately one of the most dangerous. it hasnt killed the most people either. but the fact remains that until recently it has had a 100% mortality rate.
@Rouyakan no its in the top ten most dangerous. All top ten most venomous snakes live in australia, there is a crocodile hunter episode about them, watch it. I remember the most venomous is the inland taipan, but its not dangerous because it lives in a remote location in the middle of the australian outback and doesnt attack unless provoked.
@orenben1 Are you serious? Mambas are EXTREMELY dangerous, not only because they're fast, easily scared and have potent venom, but because people LIVE where they do. Just having the most potent vemon means shit, it's about the danger level. When a mass amount of people live in an area with a highly nervous deadly snake, more people get bitten and more people die. I suggest you stop getting your facts from TV dramas and from people who actually WORK with these snakes for a living.
@Rouyakan read my comment again. i agree with you that they are the most dangerous snake in the world. i said that like twice already to two different people . their venom isnt the most potent or even close to it. thats what i said, and its true, if you want proof ill send you like ten sources. and steve irwin is one of the most highly regarded herpetologists in the world....
secondly, i used to be a python and boa breeder so i have worked with snkes....
@orenben1 "no its in the top ten most dangerous"<-- LOL read YOUR comment again; you look stupid, unsurprisingly. Secondly, being a boa/python breeder means shit, they're NOTHING like a venomous snake. I own both a python and a boa as well, and worked with snakes too. Does that mean I know everything there is to know about every snake out there? No. But I do my research from reputable sources. Stop contradicting yourself and get a better argument and then I might take you seriously. :)
Whoops read my comment, you did say it was dangerous. Actually, to be honest I re-read your comments and now I don't even know what the point is that you're trying to make. So whatever.
@Rouyakan im not making anypoint im reiterating the words of steve irwin, jeff corwin, austin stevens. the mamba does not have the MOST potent venom but it is considered to be the most dangerous snake due to still very lethal and potent venom, extreme speed, no fear of people and living very close to people. it is the most dangerous snake, it is the most dangerous snake.... but does not have the most potent venom.
@raysetiger285 because it had a 100% mortality rate (everyone who gets bitten dies), now i think its around 75%. itll also attack and chase a human being, which is odd behaviour for a snake and for that it is recognized as the deadliest snake. but its venom isn't as potent as that of the brown snake or fierce snake and hasn't killed nearly as many people as the saw scaled viper or the asian cobra
All of you people saying to leave the snake alone are completely Retarded. its one of the most dangerous snakes in the world and its in their back yard. i would have chopped it's goddamn head off immediately before it sneaks in my house one day and kills my kids

This is one sick thing to do! even herpetologist have a healthy respect for this highly aggressive and deadly snake. Kids DONT TRY THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! in fact every body!
Crikey, how bout we poke it a couple more times? While we're at it, I'm sure he's got an itch to scratch. Maybe we could shampoo his scales. But first, let's introduce ourselves with a nice hand shake, sure he doesn't have hand, but trust me we'll make it work. lol Kids don't try this at home or you'll be in the morgue with the mortician asking why you were messing with a feral, venomous snake.
ONE OF THE MOST VENOMOUS SNAKES AND THESE BALLOON HEADS ARE FUCKING WITH IT NICE!!!! THAT'S THE PRETTIEST SNAKE IN THE WORLD MY FAVORITE I LOVE THE SHADE OF GREEN THIS THING IS.
Looks to me like the snake might went there for the heat because reptiles cannot produce there own heat because they are cold blooded (although I believe a better name should be use because it makes them so found evil) also be careful black mambas are extremely fast strikers and without anti venom a tag can kill you quickly
hmm, there's a black mamba outside. I know! Let's go fuck with it and poke it with a stick! What's the point? Yay, you can piss off a snake! Seriously, get someone who can deal with it to release it somewhere.
Black mamba is only the 5th deadliest in Africa. Very dangerous none the less. 1- saw scaled viper, 2- puff adder, 3- Egyptian cobra, 4- Cape cobra, 5- black mamba.
The ignorance in comments for this video is astounding. Here are some facts to help out those of you that have no idea what you are talking about. Deadliest- russels viper, 2nd- saw scaled viper. Most poisonous- olive sea snake, 2nd- inland Taipan, 3rd- western brown. Longest venemous- king cobra, 2nd- black mamba. Fastest- black mamba.
awsome snake ! But i would be realy caerful to even poke it with a long stick... they are realy good climbers and superfast and have a extream long reach... that snake could climb that stick like a bolt of lightning.... and they can stand straight up in the air on just a fot of the tail... wery agressiv and one of few snakes that will attack people rather then escape...20minutes to death ....scary black mouth.... maybe one of the hardest snakes to handle due to the lenght ....
I randomly came up to this video and wrote this comment, just because I would love to see that someone replied to it. Please help me. Thank you. Yes, I am serious.
@dreadly101 Guy, the black mamba is the most dangerous snake of the world. Agressive, fast, produces a lot of poison, bites several times and have a long range, i'm surprised with his courage to harass it. But i agree that Australia have a lot of the most dangerous animals of the world, besides being a beautifull country. Respect from Brasil to Oceania and Africa. Peace.
sum ppl die of these running into them accidently and heres u porking it and iratating it u little shit a hope the fucker bites u be funny watching u cry to ure mummy
@proaerro Yea, I've read that the BM can move up to burst speeds of 5 mps. Very fast!! Don't know much about the black racers, but it seems it's a North American species and can be aggressive at times. Luckily it's not venomous hey!! Um, I don't know how fast they can move but various sources indicate that the BM is the fastest moving land snake. Maybe some water species are faster, not sure.
@ket cell degeneration is caused by cytotoxic (adders, vipers) venom not neurotoxic (mamba, cobra) but yes the experience will indeed be very unpleasant. Typically people die of respiratory or cardiac arrest, because the venom paralyzes your central nervous system. I have 2 say that if I was in this situation I would want to get that mamba out the pool, but by laying a piece of plank for it to get out itself or somethin. No way I would've screwed around with it like that. Ignorant or brave?
Beautiful creature!! I'm currently working in Mozambique deep in the bush. I want to see one of these snakes live, but at the same time very weary of them. I fear this snake the most of all for the following reasons: Very nervous and aggressive, because of size injects large amount of venom, potently neurotoxic, and fastest moving land snake. I have to add that this mamba seems very chill, maybe it was trapped in that pool for a while. Anyway, hope they released back in to the wild. Nice vid
Imagine Paralysis, lose of neural functions, depression, cell degeneration, lose of sense. Now take all that together in 30 minutes including death and you have a black mamba, better not play with those
im pretty sure that the coastal taipan is the 3rd most dangerous black mambas are no here near as dangerous as australian snakes but still very venomous and good on you finding a filming one thanks
@GetOffMyNuts88 My dad kept a gaboon adder/viper for several months. We tried to feed it a shrew. The shrew chewed a hole in the gaboon adder's neck (superficial wound). My dad taped the hole shut with steri-strips (he's the snake "charmer" in the above video, no fear (rational or irrational) of snakes). But the gaboon adder is VERY docile. It didn't want to leave it's cage when we decided to free it. Granted, it will put you in the grave in like 20 minutes flat.
@Russoft thats awesome, i dont think you can even own shit like that in NJ. when i was in Iraq we used to see side winders all the time. but the gaboon viper is without a doubt the most beautiful of all snakes.
Its got the longest fangs of any snake aswell measuring over an inch.
They may appear clumbsy and slow moving but the Gaboon viper can strike incredibly quickly and due to the length of those fangs can deliver large amounts of venom second only to the King Cobra.
A highly dangerous snake second only to the Black Mamba in fatalities in Africa.
looks to me that the snake is trapped in a pool and the person with the stick is clearly at a distance where the snake can not reach them. I think it is so docile because it probabaly has been there a while and is tired, thristy and hungry.
I would quit messing with it.. help it..or kill it so it doesn't kill you..

urhomies 1 month ago
@urhomies
They are stood above the empty swimming pool poking down on it, so they are kinda safe.
But Black Mambas can propel themselves upwards, more than half their body length.
Also the Snake may seem docile, but your poking it with a stick. Snakes pick up body heat.
Try poking it with your hand, see how different it acts then, or how many times it bites your hand before you can pull away :-P

ps, you don't wanna mess with a Black Mamba, they can be really nasty.
They have been known to bite people up to 20 times in one go... and just one bite is enough to kill 10 fully grown men.
They are really really fast, and flexible. Before you know it, it can bend around and bite your face, or leg, or hand.. whatever it likes.

latin1988AC 4 months ago
Looks to me like the snake might went there for the heat because reptiles cannot produce there own heat because they are cold blooded (although I believe a better name should be use because it makes them so found evil) also be careful black mambas are extremely fast strikers and without anti venom a tag can kill you quickly
irelandcool1 4 months ago
hmm, there's a black mamba outside. I know! Let's go fuck with it and poke it with a stick! What's the point? Yay, you can piss off a snake! Seriously, get someone who can deal with it to release it somewhere.

Black mamba is only the 5th deadliest in Africa. Very dangerous none the less. 1- saw scaled viper, 2- puff adder, 3- Egyptian cobra, 4- Cape cobra, 5- black mamba.
jonnytang 4 months ago

Pfttttt thats nothing come to Australia and play with a Red belly black snake, or king brown heck any of our snakes i think 95% will kill ya lol
dreadly101 5 months ago
@dreadly101 Guy, the black mamba is the most dangerous snake of the world. Agressive, fast, produces a lot of poison, bites several times and have a long range, i'm surprised with his courage to harass it. But i agree that Australia have a lot of the most dangerous animals of the world, besides being a beautifull country. Respect from Brasil to Oceania and Africa. Peace.

KabutoFrank 5 months ago
@ket cell degeneration is caused by cytotoxic (adders, vipers) venom not neurotoxic (mamba, cobra) but yes the experience will indeed be very unpleasant. Typically people die of respiratory or cardiac arrest, because the venom paralyzes your central nervous system. I have 2 say that if I was in this situation I would want to get that mamba out the pool, but by laying a piece of plank for it to get out itself or somethin. No way I would've screwed around with it like that. Ignorant or brave?
KabutoFrank 5 months ago
Beautiful creature!! I'm currently working in Mozambique deep in the bush. I want to see one of these snakes live, but at the same time very weary of them. I fear this snake the most of all for the following reasons: Very nervous and aggressive, because of size injects large amount of venom, potently neurotoxic, and fastest moving land snake. I have to add that this mamba seems very chill, maybe it was trapped in that pool for a while. Anyway, hope they released back in to the wild. Nice vid
KabutoFrank 5 months ago
@KabutoFrank black mamba is faster then black racers??

i would say i wouldnt touch that thing with a ten foot pole.but you did so i cant. lol
flerfymcflerf098 5 months ago
Imagine Paralysis, lose of neural functions, depression, cell degeneration, lose of sense. Now take all that together in 30 minutes including death and you have a black mamba, better not play with those
ket543128 5 months ago
im pretty sure that the coastal taipan is the 3rd most dangerous black mambas are no here near as dangerous as australian snakes but still very venomous and good on you finding a filming one thanks

Try that shit with a Gaboon Viper ahahaha, actually dont. seriously.
GetOffMyNuts88 5 months ago
@GetOffMyNuts88 My dad kept a gaboon adder/viper for several months. We tried to feed it a shrew. The shrew chewed a hole in the gaboon adder's neck (superficial wound). My dad taped the hole shut with steri-strips (he's the snake "charmer" in the above video, no fear (rational or irrational) of snakes). But the gaboon adder is VERY docile. It didn't want to leave it's cage when we decided to free it. Granted, it will put you in the grave in like 20 minutes flat.
Russoft 5 months ago
@Russoft thats awesome, i dont think you can even own shit like that in NJ. when i was in Iraq we used to see side winders all the time. but the gaboon viper is without a doubt the most beautiful of all snakes.
GetOffMyNuts88 5 months ago
@GetOffMyNuts88
Its got the longest fangs of any snake aswell measuring over an inch.
They may appear clumbsy and slow moving but the Gaboon viper can strike incredibly quickly and due to the length of those fangs can deliver large amounts of venom second only to the King Cobra.
A highly dangerous snake second only to the Black Mamba in fatalities in Africa.

nickyboy22071989 4 months ago
looks to me that the snake is trapped in a pool and the person with the stick is clearly at a distance where the snake can not reach them. I think it is so docile because it probabaly has been there a while and is tired, thristy and hungry.
