  • Excellent job as always, Tommy...love your vids...especially "Tungsberg City"...the more I see your vids, the more I convice myself to buy the SGpro since I already own the DVX100a.

  • I have finally finished my project - it's called Blake's Striptease. Take a look at the SGBlade at work! This short film will be showing at a few film fests - Portobello and BFI London.

  • The SGBlade has arrived - showtime...

  • Congrats man!!

Can't wait to see your videos!

  • I love intro - I'm searching sound files to try and find a similar sound. Keep up the good work. I don't see you doing many wedding videos :-)

  • Thanks:)

    I hate doing weddings.. :P

  • I get my SG Blade in 3 days. It's like waiting for Xmas. But worth it. My first film is about Lap Dancing - insp by william blake's heaven and hell. watch this space or subscribe. PS: Can you record 16:9? I ask because I shoot with a canon xm2 - it stretched the image like your panasonic - not sure what you see in the viewfinder is what you end up with.

  • Congratulations man!

If you can record 16:9 with the sgblade? or if I can record 16:9.

    I'll answer both.

Yes, you can record 16:9 with sgpro and sgblade.

The panasonic dvx100a that I have doesn't have true 16:9 recording, but it has something called squeeze mode, which stretches it to 16:9. It looses some quality, but I don't really mind it that much.

    Anyway..

When I shoot squeeze, the lcd on the camera doesn't show the real output.. so.. just capture it to your pc and you'll see :)

  • Thanx - my XM2 does the same - I guess my first attempt will end up with the frame of the sgblade on the inside - this is why my first practice film will be about my dogs in the park. Anything looks good with this piece of kit. I'mso excited I could run down the street naked!

  • haha:P

    I know how you feel!

Been there, haven't done that.. :P

  • wicked stuff

  • thanks =)

  • I like the start - really adds depth - where did you find the sound effect?

  • Thank you:)

I don't remember exactly.. I think it was some Reason 3.0 samples..

  • Cool Man... Thanks for putting me onto it... Ive been loving my Dvx and been shooting a bit with a 16:9 adaptor... The DOF is so impossibly good on your stuff so finally will get hold of SG adaptor... I'm looking forward to seeing your footage once you've begged, borrowed or stolen the roto razor... show someone with cash what you've done so far and shoot a ripping short film... !!

  • Thanks again! :)

You won't ever want to take the adapter off once you've tried it :P

Actually some friends of mine and I are in the process of writing a script right now. :D

    Can't wait to start shooting!

  • That's good to hear, I'll be looking out for your film(s).... I've shot a couple of things I will post as soon as I get the resolution sorted (thanks for the tips there too). I'm studying at a film school in Australia and am envious of the results you're getting and I notice you're only 21!!? You're gonna kill it!

  • Cool man, I will check them out!

You're in film-school? nice man.. I should do that as well :P

I've only taken like a pre-course in media & communication where we had a 1 or 2 months on film.. not enough at all..

    Again.. Thank you:)

  • Man, all these months later... here is another comment !

Your footage is sooo good! You were obviously just capturing your mates but it just looks damned good and your composition is delightful brilliant... to top it off, your friends are as into it as you. Im going to grab an SGpro for my DVX... And get my friends to fuck around... loved it

  • Hehe, thank you very much m8 :)

Funny that you commented on this now. Yesterday I was going through my old vids and the only video I kind of "stopped up" for was this one.

I like this one myself, I hope that's not to "proud" of me or anything. But I really like the mood in it.

    Good luck with your purchase!

The SGpro is unfortunately not for sale anymore but they have this new SGblade roto razor. Which produces the same images, but with less lightloss. :D :D :D

    I want it!

  • Picture is incredible.

  • Thank you:)

  • amazing video !!!

    2 questions

    1) what software do you use?

    2) what did you use to get the slow motions so soft and flawless.??

    thank you.

  • Thank you very much:)

I use Adobe Premiere Pro for editing and After Effects for slowmo etc..

    Also..

For slowmo I shoot in 50i with a shutter at 1/120. This makes the slowing down in After Effects really nice:)

  • Thats not Ålesund! Thats Alnes! jesus!

  • Lol.. The title refers to our trip to Ålesund in general..

But your probably right.. I should've named it "a trip to Alnes" :)

  • damn, blei sjukt inspirert av filminga di:)

  • takk takk:)

Er jo en ganske stemningsfull sang å.. :P

  • Footage looks great.

What file format did you use to upload it to youtube??

  • Thanks:)

I exported with quicktime pro to a .mov file using the h.264 codec.

  • I have to say your work on here is head and shoulders above the rest I've seen so far. Seriously, this is tremendous! If you don't mind me asking, what 35mm lens did you use while shooting this?

  • Thank you so much for the nice comment:)

    Here I used a nikon nikkor-h 50mm f2.0

  • hi i have one question, when you where filming in the car how did you manage to hold the camera because when you attach the adapter it makes the camera very very big so how did you manage to hold the camera and be able to focus?

  • Well the setup isn't that big.. It was a bit hard at first, but I got the hang of it after a few tries. I just experimented:P

  • The scene where you guys are jumping off the picnic table with the mountains in the background is amazing. I bet that one kid hasn't done a backflip since childhood. Hehe..great job.

  • The outdoor scenes are really beautiful. You do the best adapter work I have seen on the web.

  • wow:)

    Thank you very much!

  • Mm, fin film og perfekt valg av musikk. :)

  • takker og bukker!

  • What does the "f/" when it says Nikon 50mm f/2.0??

  • It's the aperture of the lens..

  • Wonderful. What's the music?

  • It's John Williams with the theme from Schindler's List... Amazing song!

  • Sorry ill type that again: Does the Panasonic DVX100a have XLR input??? Thanks.

  • hehe yeah:)

  • lovely stuff!

  • thanks! :)

  • Ah. Herlig. Nå fikk jeg lyst på 35mm adapter.

  • Hehe takktakk:)

Er utrolig glad jeg kjøpte det!
