I live with a cook trained at Le Cordon Bleu. Her favorite expression of the culinary arts is baking.
I have hand picked sour cherries from the neighbors tree and prepped them for pie. I have hand selected Michigan peaches, etc. And been served the pastry encrusted results of these labors. I have been served cakes from every religion, creed and ethnic background.
I have also sampled the dregs of road food cakes and pies for over five decades.
Just when you thought that PBS couldn't get any more pointless.
They've managed to combine their new obsession of wasting their donors (and taxpayer's ) money on interviews with celebrities, with their new obsession of coming up with Oprah-style topics.
A: If I wanted to hear celebrities yap about themselves, I'd watch "E" or some other cable entertainment channel.
B: Who the hell CARES whether some total stranger preffers cake or pie?!
@SinnFein4ever huh, aren't you a bitter republican. PBS also has Charlie Rose and this is clearly in reference to the Mark Twain prize, a prize celebrating one of America's most cherished writers. Not everything has to be nature or nova (which i'm sure MANY other people would argue is a waste of money and it probably costs more to film lions in africa for 6 months than to get a 10 minute interview with betty white). PBS isn't here to just cater to YOUR idea of what PBS should be.
The question is not "Cake or Pie."
The question is "Cake or Pie first?"

This question was resolved some time ago. Search YT for OREO Cake-Pie Video, and someone pass this on to Steve Martin. He needs some Cake-Pie.

Paul F. Tompkins did a whole thing about Cake vs. Pie. Go check it out.

How long before the Republican leaders use this time-waster as a reason to cut funding to public broadcasting?
