  • you sir is awesome FUCK haters

  • mr. Jody, how do you call that technique that you make with the harmonics in the right hand? (0:18)

  • Comment removed

  • @davydyyz harp hormonics or fretted harmonics

  • @davydyyz

  • beautiful

  • fantastic !

  • Omg.. Nice Nice maestro

  • can you please tell me everything about your guitar? what kind is it? what kind of pick ups? etc...

  • im going to buy your music right now.

  • Beautiful Maestro!!!!

  • very nice playing thanks for sharing

  • could you try not being so good you make the rest of us look bad

  • @kirdook It has the structure of awesomeness.

  • @jamesentler :)

  • @kirdook seriously?

  • @IRuinEvrything wha?

  • @kirdook its called improvised free form jazz for a reason

  • @kirdook Actually the melody's in there for the first 32 bar chorus, but there's lots of improvisation filling in between the melodic phrases. The tune's an old standard called "Moonlight in Vermont." The problem for you is that to find this melody in among the rest, you probably already have to know it. Jazz gets a bit snobby that way. And he chose to play the whole song in a rubato style--no steady tempo. I like how the dog got hypnotized at about 3:40

  • wow

  • This guy is really good on Jazz guitar

  • Perfect..

  • nice play, but fucking ugglgggly guitar dude

  • @wurstpeter1000 show some respect, this isn't your run of the mill person. He has quite an amazing philosophy about music and life, and the gift of improv like I've never seen. EVERYTHING he plays is improv.

  • @ChromiumSilver what did i say idiot? the guitar still sucks!!

  • @wurstpeter1000 Don't see why, Sounds just fine to me. Bet you don't have an axe that nice...

  • @wurstpeter1000 i dont see why either. sounds gorgeous

  • The dog is clearly enjoying the music! Rightly so!

  • Ted would be proud Jody, nice work!

  • You are an incredible player. Have you met Susan Mazer? BTW. I want your Klein. Does it have the trans-trem?

  • I want to learn this so bad, after I get some in depth classical the next thing is definitely jazz!

  • Love this style , and the Pug at the door behind also ^^

  • beautiful tone.

  • what I wouldn't give to get lessons from you.

  • Beautiful! eccezionale, mai sentita tanta "armonia" insieme, belli i passaggi con gli armonici, belle le risoluzioni sulle chiusure di giro, complimenti!

  • You are my inspiration. Because of you and your beautiful music, I want to explore the wonders and treasures of jazz guitar.

  • @moviemakerlover09 Same here! Ive been playing blues for some years but i recently started jazz guitar lessons! Jazz is so different and much harder than other styles, it needs a lot of studying and practice but i think it worths the time. Its so amazing i wish i could someday play like that.

  • you

    are

    amazing.

  • jody fisher please adopt me, i´ll clean your house but please teach some of your magic. awesome stuff

  • i love his humble shirt as much as i love his awesome playing.

  • im very happy a jazz player is showing the potential and diversity of emg pickups. people seem to not like them but there is nothing wrong with their sound i reckon

  • GOOD

  • thats such an awesome tone. it reminds me of that warm christmas feeling for some reason.

  • How the F...k does he do these harmonics. Fantastic player!

  • @snowgoose92 It's a Klein guitar built by luthier Steve Klein who no longer makes electric guitars and sold that portion off and since then none have been made.

  • never thought of it that way.....

  • thanks master, beautiful, thanks, can´t wait to transcribe the finale

  • this guy is fucking dirtyyy

  • the harmonic playing is amazing.I´d like to see him and Tommy Emmanuel play together.

  • Unreal - that is some beautiful playing

  • He is beautiful... if you know what I'm saying.

  • Very cool and relaxing Jazz ...5* !!

  • Really sweet . Amazing sweet and beautiful song .

  • Amazing. How can he do that particular technique? I mean, how can he pluck the strings around the end of the fingerboard and make artificial harmonics sound so natural? Eric Johnson also does it, but not so fluently. Again, amazing.

  • @sedpluit

Check out a guy named Tommy Emmanuel doing 'Somewhere over the Rainbow' A great display on how to make those singing fluent artificial harmonics.

  • @Batman001 I know, I know, I watched that video so many times. But I think that's not the same technique.

  • @sedpluit

It looks like a variation of the technique Tommy uses. He is using different fingers but he is doing the same thing, I believe he is anyway

  • 2:20 ....goosebumbs.

    amazing improvisation, mr. fisher.

    stay in tune,

    John

  • @guitar17johnny

Are you sure its an improv?

    Amazing playing

  • @Batman001 it's perhaps not "totally" improvised, he uses the original melody, but I'm quite sure that improvisation is the main element here.

  • @guitar17johnny

    Ah, I see.

    Thanks, he really is awesome

  • what genre of jazz is this? i cant find ANYTHING that sounds like this. only a couple of wes montgomery songs.

  • amazing !

  • nice dog

  • Jody, you are incredible. One of my absolute favorite guitarists.

  • It's nice but not particularly original. He uses ideas of Joe Pass and Lenny Breau (which is fine, I'm not saying he's stealing them) but it's been done before. The reason people like Metheny for example, is that he is (or was) doing something new and original!

  • I could listen to this through an eternity plus some!!! The dog seems to like it too,

  • Jody Fisher is playing and you feel sooooooo light calm and zen! Amazing

  • jody fisher! his is the best jazz guitar player. 5 stars solo

  • hes unbelievable

  • 3.42 cool dog.

  • excellent!

  • I never would have imagined that such a perfect jazz tone would come out of a guitar that looks like that.

    But it does.

    And its amazing.

  • "Your music is so calming" - GOLD WORD!

  • Very impressive, thanks for creating the YouTube account and uploading videos, Jody. I"m really a big fan, like your style and your feeling, you're UNIQUE! Congrats!

  • That's really beautiful! It's interesting to watch and hear the difference between when the pick is used and when it isn't.

  • wow!

  • hi jody a great music have you publish a book

i am in france best ray i put videos at raymauger

  • So beautiful... I was moved to tears

  • wow !! fantastic ! 5*****stars

  • Beautiful.. Thanks Jody..

  • Jody! check out Cathy's stuff at CD Baby, maybe someday there will be a duet!

  • Yeah, Jody.

  • Excellent! u're amazing! u're awesome!

and your dog is so cute! hehe I'd like to see you on more videos with classic jazz themes variations!

  • Excellent Jody! This is inspiring - more please.

  • I could listen to you play all day, Jody. The harmonics are gorgeous, of course, but the personality and musicality that come through your music are what really touch me.

Please keep posting vids and say hi to the little furry guy in the background for me. :)

  • Sweet! I hope you continue to make videos
