Jody, can you remember as played Bill Evans Ochestra George Gerschwin´s Summertime with introducing simple theme on guitar? Have you some idea as to play similar disonance as orchestral ver. on solo guitar? :o)
Really enjoying seeing and listening to you. Reminds me so much of my Grandfather Speiginer's playing. Thank you. Would love to hear you play in person whenever you are in the eastcoast again. Thanks Kim
0:25 , anybody knows where can I find a tutorial for that technique? Actually I know a technique and I can do it, but I didn't find this technique that Jody is using. Somebody can help me please? Even a PM?

To be honest, I don't like it. Yes the chords create emotion, but I think anyone can do that if they had such an extensive chord vocabulary. The thing that I really disliked was the fact that there is absolutely no melodies or phrases. There is something nice about this, but I still don't like it. There's absolutely no structure, the song could have ended at any part and it would still had the exact same effect.
@kirdook Actually the melody's in there for the first 32 bar chorus, but there's lots of improvisation filling in between the melodic phrases. The tune's an old standard called "Moonlight in Vermont." The problem for you is that to find this melody in among the rest, you probably already have to know it. Jazz gets a bit snobby that way. And he chose to play the whole song in a rubato style--no steady tempo. I like how the dog got hypnotized at about 3:40
@wurstpeter1000 show some respect, this isn't your run of the mill person. He has quite an amazing philosophy about music and life, and the gift of improv like I've never seen. EVERYTHING he plays is improv.
Beautiful! eccezionale, mai sentita tanta "armonia" insieme, belli i passaggi con gli armonici, belle le risoluzioni sulle chiusure di giro, complimenti!
@moviemakerlover09 Same here! Ive been playing blues for some years but i recently started jazz guitar lessons! Jazz is so different and much harder than other styles, it needs a lot of studying and practice but i think it worths the time. Its so amazing i wish i could someday play like that.
im very happy a jazz player is showing the potential and diversity of emg pickups. people seem to not like them but there is nothing wrong with their sound i reckon
@snowgoose92 It's a Klein guitar built by luthier Steve Klein who no longer makes electric guitars and sold that portion off and since then none have been made.
Amazing. How can he do that particular technique? I mean, how can he pluck the strings around the end of the fingerboard and make artificial harmonics sound so natural? Eric Johnson also does it, but not so fluently. Again, amazing.
It's nice but not particularly original. He uses ideas of Joe Pass and Lenny Breau (which is fine, I'm not saying he's stealing them) but it's been done before. The reason people like Metheny for example, is that he is (or was) doing something new and original!
Very impressive, thanks for creating the YouTube account and uploading videos, Jody. I"m really a big fan, like your style and your feeling, you're UNIQUE! Congrats!
