Great vids man. I have really learned a lot from checking your deadlift form as well as all the lifts. Question though, is there anything you need to do to unrack a heavy bar when your alone? I am going to be in that position soon and its been a long time since I have unracked a heavy bar.
You need to make sure you get under the weight enough. It's just being in a good position. The more under-the-weight you are, the easier the unrack, but you don't want to hit the upright either, so you want to be "just right". Also, after you practice it, you'll get better at it.
The arch is mostly from the upper back -- I'm a competitive Powerlifter. And the non-touching-the-chest... no excuses for that. Recurrence of a bad habit.
oh ok. its all good man. i loved that squat video. i didnt know that you are a powerlifter, then its all good. i dig the old school no nonsense home gym
but one thing, shouldnt you use a spotter when handling those massive weights?
Probably, but my work schedule prevents me from having spotters most of the time. If I ever miss a weight, I just un-tuck my arch and the weight sits on the pins. It happened the set after this one, in fact....
Nice job!

Awesome lift, Mike. Look forward to seeing what you can put together at RUM.
Also, great display of class with a response like that to a pretty typical YouTube comment.
