@isarya6249 It was actually the other way around - this song (and the reprise) was originally created for the Broadway show (technically before that for the album "Rhythm of the Pride Lands" - the opening track) and ended up being used in the opening for Lion King II since it was such a powerful and awesome song :)

I remember seeing this cast when I was little. My mom told my teacher I'd miss school that day and took me to New York with some of her friends (who I'd grown up with) to see it. It was the first time I'd ever seen a stage show, let along a musical of this magnitude, live. I even had one of those red t-shirts with Rafiki's Simba drawing and "My first Broadway show". I need to see this again. It won't be the same, of course, but I still do.
