There are no 'bad' guys in the trailer. That's the whole point of the movie. Doing a little research on the original piece of work(and what a piece of work it is) helps.

And who wont know the bad guy to the end of the movie I'm sure.
And the girl sayin that graphic novel adaptation is over done...well if you're sick of it, this is the kind of movie for ya, because the original comic deconstructed superheroes in the comic genre and I'm sure this movie will deconstruct the superhero movie genre(as Zach has said). The teaser intentionally makes no attempt to explain the plot. Because the plot is so complex. They just want people to go "what? what was that?"
This movie is not just another graphic novel adaptation. This is something very very special. Watchmen is the most acclaimed graphic novel in the world.
I think you explained that really well, because when i saw it, i was like what is this? The trailer as you said didn't show you the plot, but it drawn me in because i wanted to know more. Now that i know its based off the graphic novel and found out the basic story of it, i am truly amazed and can't wait till the movie comes out.

By the way guys, she's saying she didn't LIKE the TRAILER, not the actual movie. The trailer was a turn off for her because she wasn't familiar with the source material (neither was I) and the people who made the trailer assume you know about Watchmen.

She is one of those people that only go to movies just to do something because she has nothing else to do on a friday night. "The pictures on the screen didn't say anything, I won't see it, the trailer has to show me everything, I have to know the movie before it comes out!"

Having watched a few of these, I think they have no understanding of the films they are watching trailers of, why they might be marketed in a particular way, or really anything relevant to earning this position. It is so unfortunate that the female commentator knows absolutely nothing about graphic novels or good movie adaptions. I have female friends who have never heard of The Watchmen before excited about this movie because of the awesome trailers they've seen. One of them claimed that this movie looks like Batman done right(LOL).

In fact I will never watch "trailer hits" again. They are so off base it's laughable. Again it's a teaser it is meant to tease. I'm not just a fan boy I'm a guy who appreciates a good film and good literature. The Idea of judging any movie by a trailer is foolish. Ever heard of not judging a book by it's cover.

This chick's comments re: WATCHMEN were as interesting as a rain puddle -- and about as shallow. Why anyone -- besides other brain-dead waifs -- would take her gibbering seriously is beyond me. My advise to you, Little Miss, is to putter on back home and re-read your back issues of US and ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY, and let other, more qualified, moviegoers appreciate a film like WATCHMEN that demands intelligence and an actual attention span on the part of its viewers. The trailer is designed to get people who know what the watchmen is excited, not for the uninitiated like the girl in the video. If she had read the graphic novel, I think she would be much more excited... its pointless to judge a movie by just one trailer... but I guess thats what they are trying to do...

Lets face it. this was a trailer for the fans of the GN to say " Oh wow, its really faithful", and the non-fan moviegoers to say " WTF is this" PERIOD. Lets not forget this is a TEASER TRAILER, and that this movie is 2 months away, and I'm sure there'll be two more theatrical trailers.

I don't expect anyone who has read the graphic novel to understand what the hell this movie is about cause it really doesn't give much away. And as for the girl... She was confused, and that she didnt know who was bad and who was good. Well, it'd be pretty stupid to give that away in a trailer. This movie is too deep and complex to fit into a trailer. And who wont know the bad guy to the end of the movie I'm sure.

And the girl sayin that graphic novel adaptation is over done...well if you're sick of it, this is the kind of movie for ya, because the original comic deconstructed superheroes in the comic genre and I'm sure this movie will deconstruct the superhero movie genre(as Zach has said). This movie is not your typical comic adaptation believe me.

Watchmen is not just going to be anothe "Comic Book" movie. It is going to be the best comic book adaptation of all time. Maybe even the greatest movie of all time period. Watchmen is so much more than just a comic book. It is a philosophy.

The teaser intentionally makes no attempt to explain the plot. Because the plot is so complex. They just want people to go "what? what was that?"
This movie is not just another graphic novel adaptation. This is something very very special. Watchmen is the most acclaimed graphic novel in the world.

I think you explained that really well, because when i saw it, i was like what is this? The trailer as you said didn't show you the plot, but it drawn me in because i wanted to know more. Now that i know its based off the graphic novel and found out the basic story of it, i am truly amazed and can't wait till the movie comes out.
