It's been years since I played this game, but I'm guessing this was played in easy mode, because in the harder difficulties, don't you have to fight Elizabeth's servant before fighting her? I could be wrong.

@Mimesis552007 Nope this was the only game released on a Sega platform for Castlevania though they did try to release one or two on the Dreamcast but they never made it.

@Mimesis552007 yeah it's more or less the same game then, but they edited out and in a bunch of stupid stuff... like in America when Eric dies his spear flies up and harpoons him as he lays dead... and in Europe and Ausstralia the changed some of the blood in the game especially in the opening too green slime or blue water. And Bloodlines was too gory I guess so they riped off The Next Generations title and called it The New Generation! censership sucks

I noticed that most the bloodline haters dislike the genesis version because they are super nes fans. Kind of like a form of descrimination because it is not exclusively on nintendo's system. That attitude comes from the nes days when nintendo was running evil dictatorship over 3rd party developers. All that stopped when sega genesis came along. Discruntled game developers broke loose from nes slavery and emancipated themselves with sega genesis. That is why great games like bloodlines came too.

@metalsonic641 Yes, it was passed to the Lecarde Clan, and Eric Lecarde inherited it at an early age and used it as his primary weapon. (that's what's shown in the Castlevania Wiki)

@NekoValtz yes, it is. in fact, that's one of the game problems . It turns the game so much easier. Beating the game with the whip guy (wich doesn't have that jump super-unfailable-hability) is much harder and fair.

It might be because its 3 am, but I just thought of something. In this game, you approach Dracula's throne room from the right....most of the time, in the other games, you climb a long stair case, while ultimately going left.....what other games in the series dont do that?

Dracula left his last trap out of this particular castle.

The staircase leading up, where you have to press Up on the right pixel to actually climb and not just walk off the cliff.

That's what he gets for breaking tradition and having the staircase face right.

Great game. I think the difficulty is just right, since you don't get unlimited continues like Super Castlevania 4 (which is effin hard).

And I agree, the music is pretty epic. I still can't pick my favourite tune.

It'd be faster to just corner rape him in his big demon form. Just stand under him when he's on either far side of the screen, and stab upwards. You'll deplete 2/3 of his HP easy. :]

That said, nice job. Bloodlines definitely pushed the limits of the Genesis; it's a great game. ^^
