I thought the video was extremely well done! so unlike most videos of today, this was simply clips that fit with the mood of the song, perhaps with a story somewhere.
unfortunately thats complete bullshit sir. A lot of bands suck live, but they make their music better with audio equipment and special effects that they cannot reproduce in a live show. So you can be a fan and not like to listen to them live. I happen to love Coheed in Cambria, but when they played a show live in my city they blew because they didn't have the right effects.
When people play live, that's what the really sound like. So if you listen to them live and don't like it, you're not an actual fan of that band.
If you ONLY like the studio mixes, then you're a fan of that music. But the studio mixes may sound completely different from when they're live. So since the band uses so much special effects, you're a fan of what they produce (not the band) because what they produce isn't actually them.

Yes I definitely enjoy showing my ignorance, that's why I wrote obliviously instead of obviously. don't presume to think you understand me and how much I know or don't know about film. You don't know so much as my name, much less the number of people in my life immersed in film programs and winning scholarships for them. I know about decent films, and this isn't included in that catagory. sorry if my opinion upsets you.

I don't presume to understand you. I really don't care to. But when you critique a first video and that critique is wholly unconstructive, that does upset me. Besides, if you knew anything about Metric and their approach to art and music, you would understand how this film very much reflects that approach. As for your opinion, as they say, "like assholes, everyones got one."

I wasn't critiquing it, I was insulting it. Where did I say I was critiquing anything? I'm pretty sure I didn't. I'm not a hardcore Metric fan but I do listen to their music and I know a bit about them and this video was completely out of left feild... this video has nothing to do with the song. Anyways, you're starting to get really annoying so I'm done arguing with you. I bet there's a million other people on youtube that would be ecstatic to discuss art and music with you.

I like the video because! it has nothing to do with the music. Music happens where it takes place. Your mind connects the memories with the music. It is all about pictures, images & memories.

Oh my god I was laughing so hard when I saw this comment. You think I was trying that hard? I was having fun with a new editing program I had at the time (sucky program by the way) By the way, make fun of it all you want (I do all the time) But those happen to be my friends and family, and they're quite proud to be in it for some reason. Oh and I like metric, but hate this song.

GREAT vid, really good acting, directing, filming, and editing. very original. The one tip i have is that the first colour shots seemed a little too suddenly bright. But other than that, great use of light too.

You have to remember that its an indie rock band from canada even if their huge in canada they don't have lots of mone to spend on a video. Since there Indie they can afford to be pretentious and the simplicity of the videos message is whats most important.
