He is the guitarist for the show, "The Voice." He said when the show first started they had to learn 110 songs in ten days. He is an outstanding guitar player.
My 5 fav guitarists right now, in order: 1. Justin Derrico (sweetest phrasing/killer chops) 2. Jason Hook (chops & phrasing from hell) 3. Emil Werstler (sickest metal shredder) 4. Michael Romeo ( the only neo-classical shredder who still keeps my interest) 5.Doug Aldridge ( really great balls-out rock guitarist) ...IMHO.
@sonicslaughter a triad is : T / 3 (-) or 2 or 4/ 5 . If he only plays those 3 notes and even if he repeats those notes in one arpeggio , it remains a triad .
@bekos I meant 4-note chords as in chords containing some kind of seventh, i.e. 1-3-5-7, etc. That's what I thought I was hearing, and I thought he was stating a "triad" for each one of those. I don't really remember though, so I'll listen again more closely.
@niptodstan the guitar in this particular video is a pre-chambering les paul standard USA in desert burst. he told that in another video. In fact he uses a Axcess, too, but that's for some coversongs in Pink's Setlist and not for major stuff.
my new favorite guitarist, I really like this kid (I'm 40, they're all kids at this point)!! Great chops, tone, feel, and attitude, I wish him the best
@TheMetalFloyd666 he's better than slash at least in terms of playing he is faster, has better technique and he went to collage for music so he knows way more than slash about music and he could out play him anyday he has great tone 2 howeer slash is just a simple blues and rock player but it alwys seems like every note played by slash is a gift from god idk why but slash is an amazing player/writer but justin is a better player
@sregnathan there is not alot of effects in this vid, overdriven yeah but still pretty clean most of the time and some delay ( a common effect for many acoustic players I might add). While I agree with you in general, I don't think that comment was really applicable here, the dude has some serious chops, and there is vid of him doing some nylon string stuff too you might like to check out. Playing acoustic guitar doesn't make you a great player, thats just practice!!!
@sregnathan sorry I misunderstood your comment, I can the point you wanted to make now, my apologies if I came across as biting your head off, all the best!
@sregnathan Electric guitar is a whole other type of instrument, not just an 'easier' version of an acoustic guitar. The effects are just a part of getting a rock tone. Anyway, he's just demonstrating some cool sounding ideas, not trying to impress a youtube peon such as you.
great playin as always.... love this guy but anyway, anybody know what guitar is he using in this video ? ... is that a normal les pual standard ? ... a standard plus ? .... custom ? .... mmmm he use a axcess too with floyd but it´s not this one...
@openmind1984 no they're not better than the 2008's. Every Les Paul Standard is a new interpretation of those made in the fifties. The Models are mostly equal in value, playability, tone, etc.. the changes on the 2008 were locking tuners, BB Pro Pickups instead of the Gibson Alnicos, Neutrik Locking Jack, etc.
I'd recognise that lick anywhere.................... he played it on tour with P!NK and blew the crownd away. Check out "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" off P!NK's Funhouse DVD!
I'm a shreadhead, sucker for all things heavy metal and hard rock, I'm dying for blues and jazz, I LOVE guitar but I gotta say one thing: Pink is AWESOME! Gotta agree with whitehead575. I recently watched a Funhouse concert on TV and couldn't pick my jaw off the floor. Newfound respect for Pink (she's super sexy too).
actually the drummer of Pink's (live) band is one of the most talented musicians I've ever seen, too. I also didn't know that these guys are so damn good....
comeontrytopkme: I acknowledge that you're not dissing P!nk fans, but you need to check out her most recent live DVD, or see her live. It isn't a pop show, its a Rock show with so much more. P!nk seems to have been pushed down a pop(ish) route by her record company, and is now showing her rock sensibilities. Justin is superb as are the rest of her band, and I've been a classic rock fan for 35 years!
Sorry buddy. I can understand your jealousy, but sweeping IS doable and actually kinda fun once you get into it. Just sit down and get started practising...
This is the guitarist from PINK?!?! WHAT THE HELL?! This guy can shred, seriously. He could go really really far if he were in the right band :) Not dissing Pink fans, btw.
he is an awesmoe player, look up pinks cover of "babe i'm gonna leave you" he does a solo at the end and its just awesome! also check out his bogner alchemist demo he plays manic its sick :)
Man. Why does slash get all of the credit?? Theres plenty of other guitarists out there that have way more skill. This dude for instance. Emil Werstler(amazing), Paul Waggoner(Between The Buried and Me) just to name a few....

He doesn't use a Standard. It's a Les Paul axcess. He's an amazing player bone of the best out there. Slash isn't fit to lick his boots.
