I understand, she probs is coming out of a place in holland where they speak in dialect. I do so too when i am with my family, i like in the achterhoek
what a cute grandmother reminds me of my stepmother who is also Dutch, she was born in Utrecht and is almost the same age. I love the Dutch language and hope to learn it one day.
darthfluxor youre so messed up... im dutch myself and even i dont understand shit what granny is talking about!!! and btw... even yur reaction here is hard to understand!!!
neuk een shaap mens ten eerste we zijn ni zo veel vershil en meer acenten zoals oost vlaams west vlaams limburgs antwerps kemps enzo zelf nog meer vershilende dialechten dus als je da niet versta ben je maar een domme keeskop in mijn ogen
I always compare: the duth from the netherlands, is like the englisch in the UK. and the dutch in belgium (flemish) is like the english in the US. Not that it's the same, but just the differences there are.
Flemish is practically Dutch, but it's called Flemish and not Dutch for reason - it's still different. To begin with, the accent is different. And they use a lot of different words. I know, as a Dutch person, that we use a lot more English in our language then they do in Flemish.
Flemish is the same as dutch. Just like quebecois is the same as french and english is the same as american.:P
Actually flemish isnt like dutch at all in my opinion sure verb and nouns are all the same. but phrases arent, which is extremely tedious. I have dutch books "netherlands dutch", but there isnt flemish dutch so everything i learn is sorta wrong because apparently the belgians "don't say it that way" Sigh
Oke ik ben ook nederlander maar ik heb nog nooit van flemish gehoord

yep, it's a flemish accent, but they speak dutch, not some kind of flemish. It's all very clean and understandable.
(they're talking about boring everyday stuff by the way, so nobody is missing anything)

Het is waarschijnlijk het huis van de oma.. dus geen wonder dat alles er oud uitziet.
