Its heart breaking to let go of the deuce.. I'm looking for one thats street legal, i was going to use my dads but when i inspected it.. i saw some bad things under all that paint.. told my dad and he's pretty discouraged.. so we know how you feel..
We bought ours a few years ago in Grapevine, a suburb outside of Dallas Texas. They have a surplus of military vehicles there. We sold out Alpha I Humvee as well when the fuel prices started to kill us. I want another one though. the truck was my brothers and the Humvee was mine. Father is retired 27 yrs with the Army, so we grew up with these types of vehicles.
We actually drove it down to the lower valley, walking distance to the Mexican Border, is where we live. Seemed like the trip took forever, and we did it when it was about 40 degrees, which is way too cold for me.
We actually sold it for about $10,000. Pretty much a steal, but fuel prices going up and stuff, you know. We miss it though, especially after the hurricane hit us about a month ago. Thanks for the comment.
Ok my father has a 87 amg w/w, i love the truck, he just got 3 more from the gov liquidation, hope to bobb one of the trucks and use the others for parts, sorry to here you had to sell yours
We were having trouble starting it that day. It would crank but never started and the batteries (2 of them) would die after about 3 cranks. It ran for years and we loved the truck but the guy that bought it, has a shop where he planned to work on it and restore it.
Why didnt he drive it away?
