  • CHARNETT MOFFET.

I had to use caps because he blew my mind.He plays anything that is possible to play on the bass.He started with his father who was a drummer(sorry if wrong) and soon moved on to play with Jazz greats even as a leader.Listen to him in the Manhattan Jazz Quintet.I'm sure you will like it.

But in this video he stole the show.Amazing...Enes

  • OH YES THE MASTERS AT WORK!!!!!!!!!! PURE DIVINE EXCELLENCE

  • very nice ! です.

  • If you like this, then buy the original version on Time For Tyner

  • charnett moffett............ pardon my french but HOLY SHIT

  • A bassist who is not afraid to use effect pedals. Fantastic!

  • THAT WAS AMAZING

  • That dude is Charnett Moffett. Definitely gassed Bobby. :-)

  • Verrry nice! @ 4:25 dude starts riffing like Jimi.

  • Charnett Moffett:Awsome Bass master

Please can someone tell me the name of the Drummer?

  • Eric Harland

  • Who's this bass player? Flipprd out!

  • The solo with the bow sounded like a MOOG or ARP anologue synth! Freaky!!

  • true lol! that is awesome

  • Does anyone have Bobby Hutherson's album "Linger Lane". There is a tune entitled, "NTU" that is a must hear. If you have it could you please post it. Love that song. One of his best pieces of work.

  • sheer, pure, cosmic inspiration and creativity; even the masters are in awe of the moment.

  • this is my favourite piece of jazz on youtube

  • part 3 exists. I know I've seen it! with my own eyes (and ears)

  • There's gotta be a part 3. Probably just the out chorus though

  • there is a part 3. you can see the entire piece(17minutes) in dailymotion. this band is so incredible. just can't say enough about it. rmsolympic said it!

  • good stuff!! what about part 3?

  • Mcoy and bobby hutcherson are true giants in jazz!! McCoy has such class about him!!

  • ¿Vieron que fácil es tocar el bajo?.Pensar que el recordado Pop Foster lo destrozaba a palazos.

  • now that is some bass playing!!

  • these songs... african village pt 1 and 2... what albums can I find them in ?

  • time for tyner! I got it

  • Bobby Hutcherson is my uncle and I am so proud of that!

This is the first time I saw this performance and I must say this is totally incredible! Enjoy the masters

  • This second part show some outstanding acoustic bass work, all masters of their instuments. This video helped me figure out key huycherson was playing son in

  • Charnett floored me! Can't wait to see him live!...Amazing

  • That is a downright awesome upright-bass solo.

I have to ask, though, what's up with the creepy-looking, gigantic bunny-rabbit poster in the background? You half expect the bloodthirsty beast to come leaping out of the picture and eat Bobby Hutcherson, like a scene from "Night of the Lepus."

  • That rabbit is part of the festival. Like a mascot to the festival. It appears in every video that i've seen from this festival, many years.

  • They should have renamed the bass instrument, after Charnett Moffet's solo...Amazing!!

  • Wow!!! What a bass solo!! Charnett Moffitt is like Jimi Hendrix of the bass. Incredible. Never heard one quite like this!

  • How did he get that bass to do that?

  • LOL

One of weirdest bass solos I have ever heard.

  • REALY AWESOME

  • That group is so raw, each of those musicians are such complete masters of their instruments.

    killin it every time
