Very well done video. One of the few positive videos on IRAQ that I have seen. I don't support the war but I support you. Make sure you guys look after each other and come home to Oregon soon.
Just so you know... saying support the troops but not the war is the single biggest insult that you can tell to a soldier.. I spent 2 years in Iraq and it makes me want to puke when people say that.. Im not attacking you in any way-- just telling you so you dont offend someone... I wish more people knew what was actually going on over there,, because its not what you see on TV.. not in the slightest...
You know that before I served I used to believe that. By protesting the war you protested everything the soldier stood for. As I have gotten older I can make the distinction between the job a soldier does and the lies a politician makes to get us into a war like we are in. When I severed we believed in an unstated agreement between the military and the executive branch. That we would head anywhere in the world and kick anyones butt you ask whenever they wanted.
Just make sure you have done everything in your power to make sure that it never comes to that. So if you think that I am insulting you by saying that I dont support the war in Iraq that was not my intent and I believe in my previous post that I was fairly clear on that. But as a former soldier myself, I of all people understand the job a soldier does and what is asked of him.
