We'll reboot all Hitchcock's films and we'll remake the original Star Wars under the pretext that this version will be more true to Lucas' original vision!'

A disappointing decision from a filmmaker I've always admired. I was hoping that the glitz of the Black Swan days would not effect Aronofsky's personal artistry, but this seems like a total sell-out maneuver. I'm sure he'll do a bang-up job with it (he is undeniably talented) but what's the point? After the wonderful originality of Pi, Requiem, Wrestler, etc., is he now out of ideas?

Granted, Verhoven's ultra-violent dystopian vision was fantastic, but I'm actually very excited about Aronofsky doing Robocop. If there's one thing he's proved with films like Requiem for a dream, and The Wrestler, he crafts a powerful character portrait. His films are raw, and not watered down. I have to give him credit for that. (just for kicks, read about what he had in mind for Batman before it went to Nolan. Crazy... but I would have killed to see it!)
