The vid is only 10 years old? really? Geez I used to see it all the time on KTEH I could swear I have seen it for at least 20 years... The song brings a lot of fond memories, My mom used to sing it to me as a little kid as a lullaby and to this day I hum the words when I cross over the golden gate.

@rightfootrayray Actually it does. They play it at AT&T Park after every home game so in many ways it's become the team's unofficial anthem. Add that to the fact that it's the signature song of the city that collectively loves and supports its Giants, I'd say it has a lot to do with them...

As iconic as this song with this singer is, I think it pales when compared to his interpretation of, "The Very Thought Of You". Having lived in SF, I can't connect my experiences there with that song no matter who sings it. But, I get the deeper heart felt sentiment behind his voice in "The Very..." like no other crooner. For me, that is a perfect marriage between singer and song. See if you don't agree.
