ask a pro race team. i agre traction is safety. in that sense it is. but its primary funtcion is traction aid. dont believe me? ask any pro team. titan motorsports, torco race team any of them.

The class I was running didn't allow them but the wheelstand was a result of loosening the travel limiters to aid with a loose track. Well, the track prep got good all of a sudden :)

Their purpose is to keep the front end down, hence the name - wheelie bars. They are a supplement to travel limiters which also help keep the nose down.

Front wheel drive cars set them up where they push the rear up while the car is sitting neutral. So for his application he is right.
