I recently rediscovered my gameboy, which i haven't been using for more than

7 years. I turned it on and it still worked! The batteries weren't replaced all the

way! It proves devices like the gameboy and the nokia phones are actually better

than devices of today. It was before companies needed us to constantly consume

and buy their latest crap! It was in the times when you just had one, and it mostly

worked.

I do believe this was the first ever handheld game I had the pleasure of playing. I just recently realized that this was about the only Mario game with slippery running controls. Regardless, it is a fantastic game. Just the right way to start the Handheld Mario saga of platforming greatness. Now lets see Nintendo ether remake these games for DSiWare, or start the alternative to Virtual Console, with "Virtual Handheld" and bring a direct port to DSi or the upcoming 3DS.

It sounds nice. But I just realized that they will soon cancel the Wii's Virtual Console service (while keeping wiiware). (consider that we only get 1 VC game every 3-4 weeks now, as opposed to 3-4 games every week at first launch)

Since they think they people want shovelware in the form of WiiWare and DSiware, then as a result, they put VC games on the backburner, and soon, no more VC games, at all.

They figure we can go to eBay for Earthbound or Ducktales.

You know what's really sad: I've never beaten this game on Hard Mode. World 4 kills my patience on normal difficulty as is. That, and 3-2. I can't imagine my sanity after 3-2 on Hard Mode. I just wish they had a save system. Only thing taking this game from a masterpiece to platforming perfection. It would make getting Hard Mode so much easier.

I always wanted this game when I was little, but always had to settle for playing it at a friends house. Oddly enough I eventually ended up getting a copy and I have no clue where it came from. I never borrowed or bought it from anyone, yet theres a copy among my old GB games now.

One thing I always disliked about this game was the fact that you couldnt kick the turtles, it kinda bent some of the rules of mario games IMO. Still a great game though.
