  • OK here's a translation for you guys and gals:

Kaisay banie (Look at how it goes)

Poularie beena chatney (Poularie without chatney)

This song is a metaphor about life about the way things are. She (and sundar popo) were singing about you can't everything in life (poularie without chatney, or that your plane caught on fire and crashed in a sugar cane field) but that's life, you just have to live it through anyway.

  • @enchantedsky1 great job on this, i was wondering if anyone else understood what it was about :D

  • Dice These songs bring back great Guyanese memorices.Just love this song.

  • Indians singing Trini chutney - what does this have to do with Guyana?

  • @veersen Chutney is also from Guyana, and is popular among Guyanese all over the world. It is not unique to just Trinidad. Babla and Kanchan also performed in Guyana. I have university professors here in New York who wrote entire books about Guyanese culture and this stuff, by the way. (Queens College, CUNY)

  • @veersen i was really thinking the same thing, why is guyana and or the people of it taking the recognision for this song if it's all about indo-trinis, polurie and sange grande, i understand the unity of the carribean but really *guyanese to the fullest* wtf?????

  • @trishatragedy1 LOL I know..well we have to appreciate they like our talent sooo much they fantasize to themselves :) peace ...and ps forget the meaning of the song..she was born in trinidad..then moved to india...i guess there wasn't room in guyana for the plane to land :P

  • love dis version on dis song rip kanchan

  • album name is Kaise Bani.

    1985

    singer is RUNA LAILA

    FROM BANGLADESH

  • me love deh song me fadda us to sing when me bin lil

  • can u name me all the songs

  • i love dese songs!!

  • i jus lovee diz sng

  • Fulawrie bina chutney kaise bani or : How will Fulawries ( a type of Indian savoury) do without chutney.

Very popular in Fiji in the 80's. Sundar Popo version was a rage in weddings !

  • its pulawrie with a p not an f, just so you noe xD

  • either its phulawrie (urdu) or fulawrie (bhojpuri). No such word as pulawrie unless its an anglicised guyanese play on the above two words !!

  • @FIJIPLUS phuloorie is a Trindadian/Guyanese delicacy made from gram flour and fried eaten with Chutney, plus in this song she says " i went Sandy Grandy" Sangre Grande is a place in Trinidad

  • @achtunglady That's really interesting. I didn't know sandy grandy was a part of Trinidad. And I wonder who this Lall Beharry guy is anyway.

  • Does some1 have the lyrics of this song?

  • yo i loving dis chune and i big on babla and kanchan and its kool we have more guyaneze ppl on youtube
