No, just before 7:40 he says that like the water will be repelled from the bucket and goes up, the same thing happens in clouds to cause the up and down drafts. I'm not sure I buy that.
@sjh7132 oh sorry i did not heard this one ... but you got to keep in mind that those pseudo scientist (like me ) some time put the finger on some weird stuff and they try to explain the best they can me to i dont buy that .. i believe there is a static build up as the water drop or like just before the charge is build up how the water spread maaybe it give a bigger wind but to bring water back up .. nannn
I think up and down drafts in thunderstorms are caused by different temperature (and thus different density) air, not electrical charges.
